5/16 Shoebox Swaps from Our May Stamping to Share Demo Meeting - Part Two

This is part two of our Stamping to Share Shoebox Swap that we had in May. Dorene Bye, inspired by an online tutorial, taught us how to make these beautiful flowers. You can make them with or without stamping. For the flower on the left, stamp a flower in black five times. Dorene used a flower from Secret Garden. Punch it out with the Blossom Punch. It will not "fit" the flower, but that doesn't matter. Roll all the petals towards the center with a skewer. Fold the petals upward, glue together and shape. The flower on the right was not stamped, just five punch outs, rolled, folded, glued and shaped. How lovely!

Mary Kiley's card layered up some punches and heart die to make this beautiful wedding card. The butterfly punch outs made with Papillon Potpourri and the Bitty Butterfly Punch are not wasted as they are used to decorate the inside of the card as you can see below. The sentiment is from Fabulous Phrases.

The sentiment on the inside of the card is from our Occasions Alphabet set.

Cindy Standal had us put together this lovely card with the vintage dress that used one of our Tea Lace Doilies. I love all the small details from the pearls to the flower to the embossing.

Dawn Michels made up a wedding card for us to make. She had enough rings left over from her daughter's wedding that we were all able to use two of them on our cards. Lot's of fun and bling and yet oh so elegant!

Cindy LeMire taught us how to make a spinning card with her shoebox swap. The piggy from Button Buddies whirls from one side of the card to the other thanks to pennies and dimensionals. The sentiment was made with one of our photopolymer stamp sets called Designer Type. The clear set makes it easy to put your letters into the word bubble.

Barb Manship's card was a window card that she precut for us with a combination of label and window framelits. The flowers from Secret Garden were also cut with the coordinating framelit set and colored and glittered up to make a very showy card. We customized our greeting by selecting our choice from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Thank you so much for stopping by Stamping to Share. Tomorrow I will share what I made for the Shoebox Swap.

5/15 Shoebox Swaps from our May Stamping to Share Demo Meeting

Linda Watson was our "snack" person so she designed her swap to be a cupcake holder. Super cute . . . but I have to admit, my cupcake only found a home in that box for about as long as it took for me to take this picture as I couldn't wait to eat it!! I love chocolate cupcakes from Grandma's Bakery!! She used the stamp set called Summer Silhouettes.

Mary Bellis had this wonderful collage card for us to make using some new In-Colors!! We were all tickled to try out "Crisp Cantaloupe," "Pistachio Pudding," and "Baked Brown Sugar." The stamp set Mary used is Clockworks.

This is the inside of the card. I love it when the inside of the card coordinates with the outside of the card. The sentiment is from the stamp set called Trust God.

With Father's Day coming up, Debby Filiowich created a cute card for us to make featuring a grill. I love the flames!! I put mine up pretty high since I've never grilled anything without burning it. My husband trys to keep me away from the grill!! He's truly the "pro" in that department! The sentiment is from the stamp set called Delightful Dozen.

Sharon Merritt has a whole pack of grandkids so it's no surprise that she picked the soon to be retired stamp set called Dino-Roar to work with. I loved the idea of creating the circle pattern with Sponge Daubers.

Elizabeth Schwerm's Shoebox Swap featured a butterfly from a long retired stamp set that Elizabeth still owns. (We never let go of our favorites, do we?) Elizabeth black heat embossed the butterfly onto our cardstock white vellum so all we had to do was color and cut. We colored the butterfly with markers from the backside. I was impressed by how bright the markers showed through to the front side! The sentiment is from Curly Cute.

If you want to make a smaller version of this Butterfly, you can purchase the stamp set called Best of Butterflies through March of 2014. It's one of the featured images from the past that Stampin' Up! is highlighting during its 25th Anniversary year.

Irene Boesen featured some great punch art on her Shoebox Swap card. Circles make great wrenches, nuts and bolts. The background is embossed and sponged up and it features the soon to be retired background stamp called "Tool Shed." Don't miss your opportunity to get this awesome man stamp before it's gone!

I'll have more shoebox swaps to share tomorrow so please stay tuned!!

Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by!! I truly appreciate you!

5/13 Just Married and Sneak Peek Hostess Set!

Happy Belated Mother's Day, everyone! I enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing weekend with family, but it wasn't "quite" perfect as I was missing my daughter who is currently traveling abroad.

I have a little peek for you into our upcoming catalog. The banner sentiment on the card above is from a new hostess set called Banner Greetings. I thought the Mr. & Mrs. was a nice match to the Just Married set since the are both bold and solid images. To avoid the "floating" cake, I created a table for it with our tea lace doilies. To give this clean and simple card some elegance, I used the Simply Scored Tool to outline the edges of the card and added a layer of Silver Glimmer paper below the image panel.

The inside of the card has another cute image from Just Married and the Congratulations is from the sentiment set called Delightful Dozen.

Have a wonderful day and thank you so much for stopping by Stamping to Share!

5/10 Just Believe Charity Card for May

Just Believe is on the retirement list and it is a great set. I especially love the flower silhouette that I used on this card. My May Clubs will be making this for our local befriender's group. The sentiment if from the set called Blessings from Heaven. The striped paper is from the Subtles Paper Stack which is also retiring. At first I was sad to see this paper go because I've enjoyed using it these past few years, but at Fiji we received one of the new paper stacks and wow . . . it's great! Now I'm not so sad knowing that something new and different and fun is right around the corner.

Have a great day and thank you so much for stopping by Stamping to Share.

5/9 Sneak Peek at Wildflower Meadow!

One of our "pillow gifts" on the Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip to Fiji was this single background stamp called Wildflower Meadow and if you look closely, you can also see that there is a coordinating embossing folder! It's so easy . . . all you do is stamp your image, then line it up to the image in the embossing folder and with a quick crank of the Big Shot, you've got something pretty!! A little ribbon and a little "go crazy with the pearls" and next thing you know you are done - in less than 10 minutes!! How's that for nice and quick? Love it!!

The ink and card base is Pear Pizzazz . . . an In Color that retired has returned to our regular line! The Old Olive Striped Organdy Ribbon from the Spring Catalog made a nice accent . . . along with the pearls, pearls and pearls!!

5/8 Pictures from Fiji - Part Two

This is a fruit and vegetable market that we visited on one of the tours.

Steve and I at one of the local villages. You see thatched roof houses all over the place. Even our hotel had quite a few buildings with this type of roof.

We toured a garden that had many, many orchids. This was one of my favorites.

Another picture at the garden with a gorgeous hanging orchid. It was interesting to see these plants with all of their parts exposed to the elements . . . even the roots! I guess Fiji truly does have perfect weather for almost every kind of plant. Oddly enough, we even saw a number of evergreens on the island!

After a long day at the pool, it was time to eat a snack and have a drink at the Salt Bar. We had a nice ocean view! It was fun to watch all the activities around us from sand volleyball to jet skis to para sailing.

Friends of mine . . . Rachel Tessman, Brenda Hukriede, and Susan Campfield.

Table Mates at our Farewell Dinner. What a ball we had . . . Steve and I laughed and laughed at all the antics and stories that were told. I can't wait to party with these people again!

And, another pillow gift from Stampin' Up! Before leaving, I purchased the matching cologne so that I have a scent to remind me of our wonderful days in Fiji.

Our hotel was wonderful . . . Steve and I had a room in the building on the right.

Artwork lined our hallways and this was one of my favorite pieces.

Gorgeous and unusual looking flowers along the walkways at the hotel. These were definitely my favorite. What a wonderful time we had in Fiji. Thank you again, Stampin' Up!, for a great incentive trip. Truly a trip of a lifetime!

5/7 Pictures from Fiji - Part One

Fiji was WONDERFUL!! I've broken up the pictures I want to share with you into two parts, one for today and one for tomorrow. Above, Steve and I just before loading up the car. Our daughter, Kari, dropped us off at the airport for a long day of traveling.

We made it!! Here we are, a little wobbly and blurry, after our eleven hour flight on Air Pacific which took us from Los Angeles to the beautiful Fijian Islands of the South Pacific.

When we arrived at our room, we had a welcome letter from Shelli Gardner, CEO and Co-Founder of Stampin' Up! It was enclosed in a lovely envelope tote.

We also had a welcome gift at the foot of our bed . . . a hand made rug. It's now in our kitchen in front of our patio door and looks great. I really, really liked this gift. Thank you, Stampin' Up!

This is my friend, Natalia Danko. She is exactly 1/2 my age! What an accomplishment to earn a trip to Fiji at the age of 25!

At our welcome session, Steve got a Stampin' Up! giveaway just for guys! The Dude, You're Welcome stamp set along with a Stamp Night Survival Kit. It was really cute and well done and I was excited to see the new cases for wood mount stamps.

And, another gift! This one was a really huge tote bag. I absolutely LOVE it! It will be perfect for hauling my supplies to workshops.

We got to see quite a bit of scenery in Fiji. This picture is taken from the jungle looking out towards the Pacific Ocean off the Coral Coast.

We went White Water Rafting. It was a fantastic adventure! I'm in the back waving while Steve was in the front on the right. We were pretty much drenched all day . . . there were LOTS of rapids to maneuver through! This was my favorite part of the trip . . . even though it meant being sore for the rest of the trip as I used muscles that day I didn't know I had!! We went 21 miles down the river. My boat friends were April Lopez and her husband Angel, and Amy Storrie and her husband Jimmy. Our guide was named Moses.

It wasn't ALL whitewater, though! We also had some gorgeous scenery to enjoy in the calmer waters.

Another gift from Stampin' Up! . . . a hat and an awesome back pack.

Steve and I eating breakfast at Sofitel. Everything is open and airy. Quite a change from the way we live in MN. We might have about a dozen days in MN to live like this in any given year . . . otherwise we have to shut things up because it is too cold, too hot, or there are too many mosquitoes! This is the day we did a service project at the Nadi Hospital . . . but I don't have pictures of it. Steve sanded and painted and I cleaned and painted. Stampin' Up! made a big difference with our service project in that the hospital had a much needed sprucing up.

Out to eat at a local restaurant . . . Sarah & Ian Wills, Steve and I, and Sharon & Mike McNeely. Sarah, Sharon and I were all Rising Stars together back in 2009.

One of the best pillow gifts of all . . . NEW PROJDUCT!! Sorry, can't show pictures of it until the new catalog goes live!! But, maybe I'll "make something" with it soon!!
