2/29 Stampin' Up! Kindness Matters & Fiji Bound!

I just got the stamp set called Kindness Matters. It's one of our Sale-a-bration sets that you can get FREE during Sale-a-bration with a $50 product order. And, I have to tell you . . . for as pretty as this card is . . . it literally took less than 10 minutes to make. I've decided Kindness Matters is absolutely the perfect stamp set when you need to make a "quick" card. The butterflies are beautiful all stamped in one color and they fit perfectly across the top of a framelit heart cut out. The words and lace fit into the same heart perfectly below the butterflies! It's just wonderful when it all comes together so easily like that.

2/28 Stampin' Up! Bringing Baby

It just so happens that 15 years ago today, I was having a baby!! My littlest one is growing up. We will celebrate her birthday this evening with one of her favorite meals . . . venison steak fried with onions and cooked carrots along with baked potatoes and corn.

But, I wasn't actually thinking about that when I made this card! I recently got this Sale-a-bration Reward item for a $50 product purchase from Stampin' Up! It's a set of eight cards and envelopes called Everyday Elegance Simply Sent and it makes creating a card so quick and simple.

I used a Top Note Die cut in half and stamped with Bringing Baby, an a la carte stamp. I used a blender pen and ink from the top of the ink pad to color the bird. The Baja Breeze Seam Binding Ribbon seemed the perfect touch to this elegant baby card.

This is the inside panel of the card. I use one of the self-adhesive tags that comes in the kit along with a couple of punch outs, one of which I stamped with a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

2/27 Stampin' Up! Rue Des Fleurs

One of my very favorite stamp sets in the Occasions Mini (and I can tell you right now that I will never sell it once it has retired) is called Rue Des Fleurs. It's a set that "speaks" to me! You just can't ignore sets like that!! I grew up in a family that had a lot of respect for its ancestry and we often prayed for and gave thanks to the people who were long past . . . but to whom we owed our very breaths to. I've always felt that my great greats are not that far away and that in their own spiritual way they are watching over me and my family and supporting us in our endeavors. I hope I have passed that heritage down to my own children and have recently toyed with the idea of blogging our family history. Have you ever heard of anyone doing this . . . or do you know of a blog that I could look at that does this? Thanks . . . so much for your support!

2/26 Stampin' Up! Love & Laughter

I love cream and white together, especially on a wedding card. So, my intent was to make a cream and white wedding card with some bling. But it really didn't seem to be coming together for me. I did start with cream and white . . . but then I added Pretty in Pink and Pink Pirouette and even Regal Rose made an appearance on this card with the stamped hearts. And, where's the bling? (Ribbon doesn't count because I put ribbon on practically every card I make - lol! ) Well, let me tell you . . . I tried, but nothing looked right, not pearls, rhinestones, buttons or beads. So here is a card where what I had in mind and what I tried didn't work out at all, yet somehow . . . I still ended up with a pretty card! Guess it's just one of those days where everything works out right, anyway!! lol!

2/25 Stampin' Up! Sprinkled Expressions

I used the Big Shot Machine with the Stripes Embossing Folder to make the Gingham Background that you see on this card. All you do is use your brayer to ink up the stripes in the color of you choice, run your paper through. Take the paper out, ink up the stripes again and then put the paper back into the embossing folder crosswise for a gingham look. It was the perfect way to show off the heart stamp in Sprinkled Expressions . . . a stamp set you can get FREE with a $50 order during Sale-a-bration.

This is the inside panel and it uses the coordinating sentiment. The Labels Framelit Collection came in pretty handy when I made this card! LOVE the new Framelit dies!! Have you tried them out yet? They are soooo versatile!

2/24 Stampin' Up! Turtle & Co

Anybody you know feeling under the weather . . . maybe a card like this could cheer them up! It cheered me up just to make it!! The stamp set is called Turtle & Co. It has some very cute characters in it that would make brighten anybodys' day. Maybe that's why Stampin' Up! picked it to be our exclusive stamp set to help raise money for Ronald McDonald House Charities. When you purchase this set, $3 is donated by Stampin' Up! to RMHC. 2/23 Stampin' Up! Designer Rosette

Hi Everyone . . . do you LOVE it?? I could hardly WAIT to post this project. I had so much fun making this and I know that my Big Shot Class Attendees are going to love it!! Yup . . . this is your sneak peek at one of the two projects we will be making at our Big Shot Class next week. This is my first project with Stampin' Up!'s new Designer Rosette Die that was introduced in the Occasions Mini Catalog. I thought it would be a beautiful name place holder for an Easter dinner, or at an all girls tea or spring luncheon.

Here is another view of the layers. All of the flowers are from the fun flowers die and they are stacked with dimensionals separating each layer for additional fullness. The Large Basic Pearl, also introduced in the Occasions Mini was the perfect finishing touch to my flower.

 Let me know if you would like me to make a video of how to do this after my Big Shot Class is over. I'd be happy to make one if there is enough interest.

2/21 Cabin Stamping!

One of my favorite things to do is to spend a long weekend at the cabin with my family. And, that's where I play with a mixture of non current SU products and misc items I had before I became a SU demonstrator. These are some of the cards I made this weekend. Enjoy!!

Remember Big Pieces? and It's Your Birthday?

How about Berry Christmas? The embossed merry was from a Embosslit Tag that SU used to carry. If you need your  DSP to have just one more color . . . stamp it on as I did here.

I still have a stash of ribbon and such from Grandma's attic. It's fun to pull it out once in a while. This card uses a retired set called Window Dressing. I love curved sentiments.

Look out . . . Cool Cat is having fun in the pumpkin patch. Several sets on this card . . . Cool Cat, Jack-o-Lantern Fun, Holiday Best and Halloween Backgrounds. The grass is non-SU.

The stamp set called Starring You found itself on a manly card with paper from a pack called Out West.

But, the best part of the weekend was hanging out with my family. We watched movies and read and walked and went to church. My middle daughter baked SIX loaves of bread . . . here she is with the dough just before dividing it up into the bread pans. I should have taken a picture of it when it came out of the oven, but we were too busy getting ready to EAT it - fresh and warm with a heavenly smell!

2/20 Stampin' Up! Party This Way Birthday

Party This Way is stamp set that you can receive FREE during Sale-a-bration with a $50 product purchase. I challenged myself to use every stamp in the set on this card and I did it . . . although the candle is stamped on the inside panel. I really liike how it turned out . . . lots of dimension with the pennnant flags and the balloons. I used just two colors to creat this card . . . Tangerine Tango and Old Olive. One of the stamps in this set is a pennant flag and of course it works perfectly in our Petite Pennant Builder Punch! The designer paper that I used is from the Brights Patterns Paper Stack.

This side view lets you see all the dimension on the balloons. It looks like they really are floating in the air!

And a last picture to show you the inside panel where I used the fifth stamp in this set . . . the candle. The sentiment is from the set called Bring on the Cake.

I was completely delighted by the projects and the whole process of creating beautiful cards with stamps and ink. I don't think I've purchased a card from a store since! I was smitten! I had so much fun creating this card. I used an Aqua Painter and ink from the lid of an ink pad to color the bear. He was stamped on Naturals White paper with Basic Gray ink. Did you know Basic Gray ink is Waterproof? It's great when you don't want an image to be too intense like black can sometimes be.

The inside of this card features a free-swinging pennant. Now that I see this card on the computer, I think I should have added a couple of little flags on either side of the big flag, too. Oh, well, next time!! This is such a cute little card, I'm sure I'll be making it again.

I am prepping today for an upcoming Card Buffet and this is one of the cards we are going to make. Isn't it pretty? I was inspired by Ashley Marostica. I think my customers are really going to like this one and it's so quick and easy to create. The sentiment is from the hostess only set called Happiest Birthday Wishes.
