4th of July Card that's a "Little Bit Country" with How To Video

Independence Day is right around the corner so I wanted to share this card today to give you a little time and inspiration to create a card yourself for this major US Holiday. I love the 4th of July . . . parades, picnics, watermelon and fireworks. That's what I think of when I think of the 4th. But, I also remember all those who served our country in the past as well as in the present.

A lot of people don't send 4th of July cards and I get that. However, I bet you know someone who isn't able to be out and about on the 4th. Maybe they are ill, or in a nursing home. Maybe they even served our country during their lifetime and the fourth means even more to them than it does to you. I'll bet they would like a card from you. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if it brought tears to their eyes and the next time you visit them, you will see it on display to remind them every day that someone cares. Be that someone and care.

Here's the how to video so you can be inspired to create a 4th of July card, too. I love the Crumb Cake tips on the star that make this card "a little bit country." I made those with the Stampin' Up! Tree Punch . . . cool, huh? Enjoy the video and thank you so much for stopping by Stamping to Share - I truly appreciate you.

An even "quicker" way to make this card is to use the tree punch to punch off the tips of the Real Red star that can then be layered onto the Crumb Cake star. That would eliminate some of the fussy gluing going on with the star tips. However, I didn't figure this out until after I made the video! haha! "So like me!" Enjoy your 4th!

Stamping to Share Shoebox Swaps Part One

We had a Stamping to Share Shoebox Swap in June which was to feature something new from our Share the Fun 2015-16 Stampin' Up! catalog. Here are is Part One of the fabulous cards that were made at this event . . . Enjoy!!

Mary Alice made this great card featuring quite a few "new" items from the catalog. First off, notice the banner? It's from the new collection of framelits called Lot's of Labels. I love the idea of making fancy card banners with this framelit set. The designer paper is from the pack called English Garden and the stamp set is from a set called Birthday Blossoms which you can see pictured on page of the catalog. The stitched satin ribbon that you see at the top of the banner is also new and looks luscious in Melon Mambo.

Dawn's card features four of our new In Colors . . . Cucumber Crush, Delightful Dijon, Watermelon Wonder and Mint Macaron. Stamp sets used in this card include Crazy About You for the sentiment, Petite Petals and Butterfly Basics. I love all the layers on this card . . . those circles really have a lot to explore! Basic Pearls provide just right accents, too.

Mary made a Baptism card and wow . . . I didn't realize what a GREAT background stamp Watercolor Wash is until I made this card. Pair it up with Soft Sky ink and soft sky card stock and you have gorgeous tone on tone. The Lot's of Labels Framelits make an elegant frame for the cross. A card that will be treasured in a baby's scrapbook for years to come! The stamp set is called All God's Grace and you can find it on page 35.

Let's show off another great set with this striking card from Mychelle! The stamp set is called You've Got This and it's on page 113. The Cucumber Crush is a GREAT look with the Whisper White card panel and the cross hatch stamped in Sahara Sand. The ribbon is so nice and soft that it doesn't leave a very large bump at all when it is tied into a knot on your cards. Three Basic Rhinestones brighten up the upper left corner of this card.

Jen made a darling card using the Sprinkles of Life stamp set (page 189) that coordinates with the Tree Builder Punch. The cupcake base is easily cut by hand and the frosting is punched out making for a quick and cute card. The cupcake on the lower right is attached straight on to the card stock. The cupcake on top is attached with Dimensionals and the cupcake on the lower left has a double layer of Dimensionals for EXTRA pop!

I'll be sharing more Shoebox Swap cards in the days ahead. Have a great day and thank you so much for dropping by Stamping to Share!

Heartfelt Sympathy with Swishes from Work of Art Plus How To Video

The new stamp set called Heartfelt Sympathy pairs beautifully with the swishes from Work of Art and the flowing script is lovely with one of our newest embossing folders called Fluttering. This will be one of the cards that I make for one of the organized Convention Swaps that I am participating in as well as an upcoming Stamping to Share downline swap. I truly love these colors together so I hope it doesn't get too monotonous . . .  lol! . . . We'll see . . . I might change my mind about these colors after making the 100th card! Enjoy the how to video and thanks so much for stopping by. If you love the ribbon that I used on this card, be sure to check out my Product Shares as they are still going strong!
