6/26 Saying Good-Bye to Cool Caribbean
I am NOT a gardener . . . but I do LOVE flowers. Flower stamps are often the first stamps I grab when I am faced with a challenge. Today is a Tuesday . . . Color Challenge day at SCS. The challenge was to use soon to retire Cool Caribbean, soon to retire Marigold Morning and Pretty in Pink. I didn't have Marigold Morning so I substituted Summer Sun.
Ture to form . . . I grabbed some DeNami Flower stamps that have been a tad bit negleted as of late. (At least I don't have to worry about watering them or they would be long passed away!) I inked up the larger daisy stamp with Pretty in Pink and stamped it three times onto some some pink daisy background paper. I cut them out and mounted them with foam tape onto a panel of Confetti White stamped with a DeNami Daisy Background in Cool Caribbean. This is layered onto Summer Sun and wrapped with fiber. To keep the daisies from looking flat and boring, I knotted some yellow bias tape, trimmed it up and popped it on with a mini glue dot. I used a panel of pattered paper behind my main image to tie the daisies into the card. The sentiment is stamped with Cool Caribbean. I love the softness that this card has.
Supplies: Sentiment from SU set Warmest Regards. Daisy stamps from DeNami Designs. All paper from SU with the exception of the background paper . . . not sure where that one is from.
My Tip of the Day: My local thrift store always seems to have an abundance of bias tape. This is often overlooked by crafters because it's not really "ribbon" and it's not really "fiber," but I find it wonderful to work with and I've scooped up a lot of it through the years . . . much of it from my grandma's attic where it sat unused and unopened in its orginal packaging priced at 19 cents. I think it is personable and adds an unexpected punch to your cards.
