8/28 Spring Motifs

The color challenge at SCS this week was to use Purely Pomegranate, Pretty in Pink and Old Olive. I NEVER have a problem using pink because I have three very girly daughters who love pink so anything I make for them usually uses pink in some form. This card was especially exciting for me to make because I got to use some awesome new SU products that just debuted in the Fall/Winter Idea Catalog. Baroque Motifs is probably my most favorite new set. The pomegranate paper is TEXTURED - so very yummy! That polka dotted ribbon is from a Ribbon Originals pack called Sorbet. The chipboard that I covered in Old Olive is from On Board Blossoms and Basics. The fabulous rhinestone brads are from the Circle Ice set. After stamping the flower from Looks Like Spring onto Whisper White cardstock, I punched it out with my new Scallop Circle Punch. (Oh, how I LOVE that look! This is sure a lot quicker than hand cutting that beautiful flower!)

One thing that surprised me when I made this card is how fantastic Baroque Motifs pairs with Looks Like Spring. The swirls worked so well with the trellis background stamp. It gives the card such a garden feel. To give the flower a bit more POP, I sponged the edges. The pink part of the flower is also raised with foam tape. IRL, this card has so much dimension.

Today I am going back to the chiropractor for another shoulder treatment. I probably should have went for treatment a long time ago, but I have a high tolerance for pain so I ignored it for a long time. Now it is so sore that I am actually using the mouse with my left hand! (In fact, using a mouse is probably what screwed up my shoulder in the first place!)

I hope you have a lovely day, and thanks for stopping by!
