11/15 Birthday Butterflies
Oh, my goodness, back to stamping whatever, whenever, and wherever and does it feel good!!! I needed a starting point so I jumped onto SCS to see what the daily challenge was. Thursday is Way to Use it Challenge Day. Today the challenge was to use unique brads in your card. Well, sad to say, I don't have much in the way of unique brads. I just ordered the jumbo brads from SU last night, I don't have the build-a-brad kit and the unique brads I do have were not seeing a lot of use . . . not because I was hoarding them, but because I just don't like them. They were purchased here and there and don't have quite the brightness of color that I like when I am working with my Stampin'Up supplies. This card was designed entirely around these sad, tired little flower brads that just hadn't made the trip to the thrift store, yet!
My flower brads were orange and pink so the colors were decided. I grabbed my brayer, some whisper white paper, my Pixie Pink ink pad and my Only Orange ink pad and brayered away. Flowers make me think of butterflies, so out came Wonderful Wings, a long-retired SU set that I just love. I stamped a couple of butterflies with StazOn Black with the intent of cutting them out. But, I liked the way they looked so much that I decided to use the panel just the way it was. (And, that saved me some cutting!) To perk up my brads, I grabbed my black sharpie and put some dots in the center. I layered the butterfly panel in black and added some ribbon accents. Foam tape, a birthday sentiment, another layer or two and the card was done. Thanks so much for stopping by to take a peek!
Supplies I used to make this card:
