12/18 Embraced

Today I woke up at 4am and could not get back to sleep. I've got a list a mile long of all the things I need to do before we start celebrating Christmas this weekend so the list was on my mind. I was also pondering my new sets that I pre-ordered - they hadn't seen too much ink time since I've been quite busy this past week working on other projects. I decided to get up and play - sometimes you have to make time to do the things that are important to you . . . even if it means getting up a bit earlier than usual!
I turned the computer on and cruised over to SCS to see what the color challenge was for the week. YEAH - I would get to use my wide and wonderful saffron ribbon. Wasn't sure HOW I was going to use it, but I knew that somehow I would work it into my card. The challenge colors are: So Saffron, Wild Wasabi or Garden Green and Elegant Eggplant.
I decided to see what new set I could use that would work with these colors - ahhhh, Embrace Life - PERFECT! I stamped the bamboo-like leaves in Wild Wasabi onto a panel of So Saffron. I sponged Elegant Eggplant onto the edges of the panel and mounted it to a card base of Wild Wasabi. Now, to use that ribbon. I decided I would layer it onto a panel of Elegant Eggplant so that it would be a bit more noticeable and then I mounted it to the lower third of my card. From that point on, the card started to take off and before I knew it, I was done. But, even though the flower had been cut out and popped up over a second flower, it still seemed like it needed something. Dazzling Diamonds to the rescue! The glitter gave this card just that little bit of pop that I was looking for. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog!
