4/17 Delicate Blooms and Bold Blooms

I really enjoy doing the Ways to Use it Challenges at SCS and this week, our Ways to Use It Challenge was to use acrylics. Hmmmmmm . . . . Luckily, Julia gave us some suggestions and I took the first one she offered - Dew Drops. I've had these Dew Drops in Gold and Pearl for a long, long time. I had strolled into a local stamp store one morning with some time to kill, but I really didn't know what to buy as I didn't "need" anything. But, the owner was so pleasant, pointing out new products, asking me what I've been working on etc, that I just didn't want to walk out without buying anything! So, I made a "polite purchase" . . . a little jar of dew drops. Actually, I don't know if they are the official dew drops or not because the container they came in doesn't call them dew drops at all . . . the name on the container is Golden Berries. But, I'm guessing it's pretty much the same thing and they are acrylic so it works.
I used a retired stamp set called Asian Art. I bought this stamp set used specifically for the Bonsai tree. I love Bonsai trees, but can't imagine growing one. I have a tough time just with cactus! How did I decide to use this image? Well, while I was digging around looking for my Dew Drops, I came across this gorgeous Japanese paper . . . that I've also had forever. And, one thing leads to another and pretty quick . . . you have a card!
Supplies to make my Delicate Blooms card:
Stamps: Embrace Life (stamped in VersaMark on the card base. I don't think you can see it in the photo), Cross Hatch (retired background), Asian Art (also retired)
Paper: Night of Navy, Rose Romance, Glorious Green, Very Vanilla, Japanese paper
Ink: VersaMark
Accessories: SU Markers, Dew Drops, Ribbon, CM Corner Punch, Dimensionals, AquaPainter

And now, my Bold Blooms card. I actually made this a while back, but never got around to posting it so here it is.
Stamps: It's Your Birthday, Canvas
Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Basic Black
Ink: StazOn Black, Real Red
Accessories: Die-Cut Blooms, 5-Petal Punch, Traffic Jam Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Marvy Punches, Ribbon, Black Marker for the dots, Dimensionals
Note: The corner accents are from the Die-Cut Blooms and they are just stamped and cut to make corner accents.

Beautiful cards! That bonsai tree is so cool and I love how you colored it. It's perfect mixed with that paper and the metal accents too!
