4/21 Basketball and Amazing!

Do you like my basketball card?? I made 50 of these to swap at Regionals in Milwaukee this past weekend. What a blast! There's just nothing like being surrounded by positive, enthusiastic and incredibly creative people. Hi Laurie, Jody, Ashley, Chris and Sandy! I rode down with 5 ladies on Friday night - many thanks to Chris, Sandy and Jody for driving. We arrived pretty late due to rain and road construction and even though I was so excited . . . I fell asleep quickly.

The next morning, we registered, got in line and started swapping. I received 50 beautiful cards in return. What a great experience. I can't wait to share all of my new ideas with my customers. I learned A TON! Even learned some new TECHNIQUES!

I am going to use this basketball card for a Make It Manly Class that I will be having in May. Not every guy gets into nature . . . so I wanted to have some non-nature cards at my class. The basketball is popped up onto a dimensional . . . looks a lot more cool IRL!

Supplies I used to make this card:

Stamps: Just Basketball, Celebrate Everything
Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Whisper White, Vellum
Ink: Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories: 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Dimensional

My cyber friend, Silke Ledlow, aka Sparklegirl at SCS, was picked to be the Featured Stamper this past Sunday. Well, with the busy weekend in Milwaukee and then a birthday party for my nephew and Godson on Sunday afternoon, there was no time for stamping. But, I knew that the very next card I made would be inspired by something in Silke's awesome and amazing gallery. You can visit her gallery HERE. I chose to case THIS CARD . . . but I really didn't "case" it because we aren't supposed to case sketch challenge cards. Of course, I didn't realize it was a sketch challenge until I was about 1/2 through making the card. When I realized her card was a sketch challenge, I altered my course and changed up the card to that you could see how I was inspired, but I didn't follow the sketch. I hope all of that makes sense! Anyway . . . it's 5x5, contains elements similar to Silke's card but uses a different stamp set, colors and design. Thanks for stopping in at my blog today!

Amazing Supplies:

Stamps: Pretty Amazing
Paper: Wild Wasabi, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black, Wild Wasabi, Handsome Hunter
Accessories: DS Wild Wasabi Ribbon, Marvy Punches, SU Corner Rounder to make the scallops on the long panel as well as on the circle, Mat Pack and Paper Piercer, Markers, Dazzleing Diamonds, Ice Rhinestone Brads
