8/26 My FIRST Business Associate!!

I am sooooo excited to introduce to you my very first Business Associate in Stampin'Up!! I've been a consultant for just over a year and it's been a SU dream of mine to have a team of ladies who enjoy stamping to share just as I do. Katherine Narog stepped into my dream at my Open House last week in the most surprising way!! I heard the door bell ring and when I went to greet my guest, who do I see but Katherine, ringing a noisemaker, floating a balloon and carrying a bouquet of flowers. She said, "Hi and congratulations, Kay! You have your first recruit!!!" Isn't that just the most fun story? I was tickled pink to say the least and thrilled beyond words. Thank YOU, Katherine, for making my day such a happy one and for making a memory I'll never forget!! I look forward to stamping and sharing a bright future in SU with you!

It seems most appropriate to share my CELEBRATE banner with you!! As I've mentioned in my blog before, Shelli Gardner, cofounder and CEO of SU has a blog called So Shelli, and the first challenge Shelli issued was for us to create something to "Celebrate '08" - the theme of our convention this year. Well, my Big Shot got a workout with the banner I created! It also added some festivity to my Open House. Below is a closeup of my Celebrate Banner.

I was inspired by one of my favorite new stamp sets in the brand new F/W 2008 Idea Book and Catalog. The Ronald McDonald House set called Say It with Scallops (it's pictured on the inside back cover for your reference) has a stamp that says "Congrats" andthe letters are layered up in a square design. I just love that look. So, I tried to do something similar with the word Celebrate on my banner. I had a Sizzix Alphabet that I've been using for years called San Serif so that is what I used to create the letters and numbers that I used here for the word Celebrate '08. The words Love, Joy, Peace and Cheer come from the die-cut that SU sells called Join in the Cheer. I alternated the small and large banners and put scallop die-cut circles on the points. I'm just crazy about the lacy six-petal flower that is on the Baskets & Blooms die-cut. So much fun - I just get a little thrill every time I make one!!

Supplies I used for the Celebrate Banner:

Paper: Tangerine Tango, Pacific Point, Basic Black Accessories: Big Shot Machine with the following - Bigz XL Pennant, Bigz XL Baskets & Blooms, Decorative Strip Join In the Cheer, die-cut alphabet called San Serif

That is SO neat! What a creative way to sign up and celebrate at the same time!
