10/28 Christmas Dazzle!

This is a card I created for my clubs to do so that I could demonstrate the Dazzling Diamond Dust technique. It uses a stamp set that one of my customers (Hi Maureen!) borrowed to me called A Wish for Peace. I also used it as one of my swap cards for a demo only swappers group that I belong to.

This is how I did the Dazzling Diamond Dust that you see on this card. First I stamped and colored the image on Whisper White paper. I used my old stand by: an Aqua Painter and ink squished onto the lid of the ink pad. Then, cover the whole panel with VersaMark. Just flip your pad over and squish it all over your image panel. Give it a generous coat of Heat and Stick powder and shoot it with your heat gun until it turns just glossy - - - and very sticky! Then dunk it into your Dazzling Diamonds and give it one more shot of the heat gun to set the diamonds into the Heat and Stick. This second shot will seal up the Heat and Stick powder so it bonds with the glitter. That's it! It takes longer to explain that to do!!

This card is accented with a Sizzlet's Snowflake Die Cut. I have found that cutting the snowflakes can be a bit of a pain as they like to stick INSIDE the die after they are cut. My solution to this is to use a tool from Creative Memories called a Multi-Purpose Tool. It has a spatula at one end of the tool that slips right under the die cut and makes pulling it up pretty easy. (At least easier than some of the other methods I've tried!!) If you have a method that works well for you - please share!

Supplies I used on this card:

Stamps: A Wish for Peace, Holidays & Wishes Paper: Baja Breeze, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Ski Slope DSP Ink: VersaMark, Chocolate Chip, StazOn Black, Old Olive, Real Red, Creamy Caramel Accessories: Snowflakes Set #2, Big Shot Machine, Heat and Stick Powder, Dazzling Diamonds, Vintage Brad

Very pretty, Kay! I just used this technique yesterday (but I used Irid. Ice EP) and it just makes such a beautiful element for your card! Lucky you to have a lending friend, huh!?

For the snow flake die, put a piece of paper(I just use printer paper) over the cardstock and this should help it cut throught the C/S...& if that doesn't work, it the computer paper is not cut at least you'll know to crank it through again
