7/21 An "Eastern Owl"

I had a great time making this card - first . . . I'm back to stamping . . .hopefully regularly! My kids are DONE with their 4-H projects. In fact, they are at the fair right now and I am all by myself in my house. A very nice feeling after many busy days. And secondly, it was my first time to use one of my new catalog sets called Animal Stories. I adore this chubby owl. My mother loved owls . . . and the color of Olive (or was it Avocado?) green. So, I had a nice time creating this card while I thought about my mother. She's been in heaven a long time already, but we are still very close. Love knows no boundaries.
The sketch came from the Mojo Monday Blog. I wanted to put my owl on something . . . with folded wings, I can't have him just hovering in space! lol! So, I started going through my sets trying to find branch or something to set him on. I found one and it worked perfectly with the designer paper I picked out. The branch is from the set called Eastern Blooms that I got as a gift from Stampin' Up for attending Convention last summer. The designer series paper if from a new pack called Tall Tales with images that coordinate with the Animal Stories stamp set.
The scalloped circle is from Circle Scallop Die #2, the inner portion of the circle was created with my Circle Scissors. I inked the branch with Close to Cocoa ink and then took off the color from the flowers with a blender pen and then colored in the flowers using an Old Olive marker. The jumbo brads gave me just the accent I was looking for. This card is 5 1/4" square.

What a clever way to combine these images! Cute sketch, too, I haven't been able to do these for the last couple weeks...this looks like a fun one!
