4/18 Cute as a Bug

Hi! I found another Saturday Sketch Challenge at Stamping 411 and had to give it a go. Just because the sketch is simple, doesn't mean that you can't be creative with it. In fact, the less defined it is . . . the more creative you can be!
.
I decided to get my Bugs & Kisses set out and play with our new In Color called Bermuda Bay. Isn't the caterpillar cute? And of course the little lady bug had to be Real Red. Love the way those two colors compliment each other.
.
Since there is so much white space in this card, I decided to get out my Shimmery White paper . . . it has lovely white shimmers in it that just do not show up on a picture no matter how hard I tried. But, in real life . . . it's awesome - trust me! lol! After I stamped the bugs, I was trying to decide how to work the sentiment into the sketch and it occurred to me that I could cut apart the words for something cute and different. I started by stamping the sentiment three times in three different colors, then cut out the words I wanted from each color. I glued them on and perfection. Well . . . not quite. My bugs and words were all off center. How did I not notice this before?? What to do . . . what to do . . . hmmm.
.
Ribbon to the rescue! It added some balance to my off balance bugs! I used all three colors in my ribbon treatment and I love how it turned out. The whole panel is attached to the card with dimensionals to give it just a little extra pop.
.
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today. I really appreciate it when you take time to comment. It's gratifying to know that people enjoy looking at my work. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend - we are up to our ears in 4-H projects . . . weekend before the county fair and all is a bustle!
