9/28 Winter Candle Wrap
I had so much fun on the Catty Cruise - - - if you stopped by my Stamping to Share Port of Call, thank you so much! I really enjoyed reading all of your comments - each one like a little ((hug))!! My project for you today, continues the exploration of products featured on pages 26-27 of the Holiday Mini Catalog. I ordered the Icicle Rub-Ons with the idea of making Candle Wraps.
I purchased some plain snow white candles . . . about 6" tall. The wrap is a 2" wide slice of Chocolate Chip paper. I wrapped it around the base of the candle to see how long it needed to be and then I cut off the excess. I wanted an overlap of just under 1/2" . . . I wanted it to overlap so that I could secure it with a 2" strip of Sticky Tape.
My next step was to decorate the wrap with the Icicle Rub-Ons. I wanted the bird to be my front and center image, so centered that in the middle of my strip of Chocolate Chip. That meant that my "seam" would be in the back of the candle. The snowflakes are randomly spaced all over and I made sure to bleed off the edges of the card stock in several places.
To adhere the decorated strip of paper to my candle, I used Sticky Strip on the overlap. Adhesive doesn't stick to candles so you need to be sure you have an overlap to work with. I had one of my daughters hold the candle for me so I was assured of a very tight wrap. The ribbon is from the Ribbon Originals set called Masterpiece. I just used mini glue dots to attach it to the edge of the paper wrap. Made a bow, attached it with another glue dot and project done!!
Have a great day and thanks so much for dropping by. Shopping is easy at my SU website!
