Stamping 411 puts forth a sketch challenge once a week and I absolutely LOVE them. The sketches help you put together quick cards and they are NICE sketches to work with. I want to encourage you to try it out and I’m sure the operators would be thrilled to see your cards, too!

I decided to make a Thanksgiving card with the stamp set called Autumn Days. The base of my card is made from Creamy Caramel. The scalloped panel is Always Artichoke and the designer series paper is from the pack called Autumn Traditions. My image panel is made from Whisper White. I stamped the wheat in Creamy Caramel using a few second generation images to create depth. I put a strip of Always Artichoke along the bottom edge of the panel and stamped the pheasant with Soft Suede. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes (LOVE that set!) and it is stamped with Soft Suede on Creamy Caramel and then punched out with the Word Window Punch. A little bit of Kraft Taffeta Ribbon finished it off and then I put the panel onto the card with dimensionals.

I’ve also included a picture of how I store the glue while I use it. I really don’t want to have to fiddle with the cap every time I need to use my glue so while I am working on a project, I keep the glue upside down in a small glass container with the cap off. Not very much glue leaks out and I’ve actually been known to just throw the cap away and simply store my glue upside down like this until it is gone. (I keep a stick pin handy if the tip gets dry.) When I have my customers over, each table gets a container like this with the glue in it upside down and ready to be used at a moments notice. When the bottom of the container gets a little sticky, I just wash it up in the dishwasher and it’s all sparkly clean and ready for the next go-round.

Nice card, I love that sketch! Thanks for the tip about the glue….I have recently decided that I like this glue. At first, too much always came out and got all over my work (and me!) but now that I know how to regulate how much to squeeze, it has become one of my favorites too! And I like the smell! I have not used it at my workshops/camps yet….I guess now that I see how you've done it, I'll try it out! Thanks!

I too like Tombow glue but I must admit that I still use too much of it. So, after seeing your picture and how much you used on your card, I am definetly going to try and use much less of it. In the beginning of my card making, I used the glue runners and eventually it seemed the layers would come apart so think that is why I tend to use too much of the glue. Your pheasant card was very nice and I think this would also work for a man's birthday card. I have hunters in my family and also hunter friends so guess that is why I am thinking that way. Great work!
