3/18 Daisy Inspiration from UDI

How do you like this card?? Isn't it gorgeous? This will be one of the projects that my customers get to do at my Big Shot Class later this month. I love inspiration challenges where you are given a picture and told to "go from there". It doesn't always come together as quickly as a sketch challenge . . . but the freedom and creativity that it brings on is wonderful!!

The inspiration picture from Utah Divas International, is a bunch of daisies wild and free on a black background. I immediately grabbed some black textured card stock for the base of my card. Then, since I am prepping for an upcoming Big Shot Class, I looked at my dies to see what I had that might work for the challenge & my upcoming class . . . well of course - Daisies #2!! I ran the die through my machine with Whisper White paper twice giving me six flowers. I used a sponge dauber to enhance the edges with Crushed Curry ink to three of the daisies . . . one of each size and then staggered them. I love the hints of yellow this daisy has. The center is a Summer Sun Corduroy Brad.

I needed to work some Garden Green into my card. I considered cutting some leaves, but when I looked at the inspiration picture, I noticed that the daisies were pretty stemmy. That made me remember that I had a texturz plate called Perfect Details that had some stemmy/viney looking images. I brayered Garden Green over it to make the embossing a bit more distinct. I love how the inked and then embossed panel turned out and it really grounded my daisy! Now I had a logical place to put my sentiment from the stamp set called "Wow Flowers" and I used the Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die to add three Crushed Curry butterflies for the perfect finishing touch.

The inside of my card features the largest butterfly from the Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die which is enhanced with Crushed Curry and a sponge dauber. then I used the Oval Scallop Die to create a pretty writing space.

Have a wonderful day!!
