3/27 First Time with Le Jardin Botanique
But, today was the day. I was inspired by the color challenge this week over at Stamping 411. Basic Black, Old Olive, Rose Red and Regal Rose . . . those are some colors with promise! I knew I could make something pretty and I think I succeeded.
The main image panel is the fabulous cold press watercolor paper from Stampin' Up. I used markers to color the stamp and then I spritzed it with a fine mist of water before stamping it onto the watercolor paper. It gives the image a softer look. All of the wonderful Rose Red smudges at the base of the flower comes from the tree that is a part of this set. The light smudges all over the background are also from the tree image, just stamped off several times before stamping it over the image panel. Then it was just a matter of layering and punching and oh, I don't know . . . just letting the card have its way. That's the joy of stamping - each creation takes you somewhere that you've never been before. I guess that is the nature of art.
