I love being on the Late Night Stamper Design Team because it stretches me creatively, taking me places I might not have gone before! This week, the Late Night Stamper Challenge 66 is to design a card, scrapbook page or 3-D item in the colors of your country’s flag. In my case . . . this would be Red, White and Blue. I’m from Minnesota and though we do a lot of water skiing in the summertime . . . there isn’t so much surfing going on. (Although I have heard of a few people who surf during high winds on Lake Superior! Brrrr!) Well, what in the world am I doing with the Extreme Surfboard stamp? It was an accident. I was ordering the Extreme Snowboard stamp during Sale-a-bration and somehow, put the numbers in for Extreme Surfboard and didn’t discover my mistake until my order arrived! I decided to keep it and today’s challenge seemed like a good time to use it.

How do you like my card? The technique that I used is called Shadow Dancing. I’ve featured this technique before on my blog and you can see that post HERE . . . scroll down to see the Skateboarder card. I used Brilliant Blue for my card base and did some tone on tone stamping with one of the stamps from Extreme Elements. I ran the Scallop Oval Frame through my Big Shot machine with Real Red and Whisper White card stock. Then I took the scallop frame piece and ran it through the Big Shot again using the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder. The red piece is the focal point of the card where I stamped the surfer in Whisper White Craft ink and let that dry thoroughly before over-stamping it with Brilliant Blue Classic Ink. Of course, I used my handy-dandy Stamp-a-ma-jig to offset the second image just slightly.

Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!
