4/23 UDI Inspiration Challenge

I love inspiration challenges. That is where you look at a picture, let the inspiration in and create! Utah Divas International posted this picture on their blog and I can't resist anything blue so off I went . . . creating not one, but two cards for this challenge!

In addition to the blues on this picture . . . I noticed a sage and cream pillow on the bed. Hmmm, when was the last time I used Sage Shadow? A long, long time ago, I'm sure! It's definitely not one of my "go-to" colors! But . . . Tempting Turquoise is one of my go-to colors. So I used them together . . . all thanks to this picture. I used the stamp set called Bird on a Branch along with the coordinating Designer Series Paper called Flock Together. I stamped the bird on a branch (is that really why they named it that? lol?) and punched it out with my 1 3/4" Circle Punch. I LOVE that punch. It is the PERFECT size for punching out so many stamped shapes. Then, I put it into another circle that I created with the Big Shot and the Circles #2 Die. I embellished my card with some luscious satin ribbon in Very Vanilla. Ten minutes tops . . . quick and fun!

Here are the Stampin' Up supplies you need to create this card:

Stamps: Bird on a Branch
Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Sage Shadow, Very Vanilla, Flock Together DSP
Ink: Garden Green, Tempting Turquoise
Tools: Big Shot Machine, Circle #2 Die, 1 3/4" Circle Punch
Accessories: Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon
Adhesives: Tombow Multi Purpose Adhesive, Stampin' Dimensionals

My second card is much more somber in nature. I noticed that the bedding had a sand color in it as well as vanilla and white. This card has a base of Brilliant Blue followed by a layer of Sage Shadow stamped with the background stamp called Sanded using Brocade Blue ink. I wanted to soften the background so I used a layer of torn vellum. I used a panel of Sahara Sand over that and tore the top of that as well. My sentiment panel is unusual in that I layered white over vanilla. I don't think I've ever done that before . . . but I guess if they can do it on a bed, I can do it on a card! (OMG - did I really just say that! lol!) The base of the sentiment panel is Brocade Blue, the ribbon is Night of Navy and the sentiment from Bird on a Branch is stamped in Night of Navy.

Here are the Stampin' Up supplies you would need to create this card:

Stamps: Bird on a Branch, Sanded
Paper: Brilliant Blue, Sage Shadow, Card Stock Vellum, Sahara Sand, Brocade Blue, Very Vanilla, Whisper White
Ink: Brocade Blue, Night of Navy
Accessories: Night of Navy 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon
Adhesives: SNAIL, Tombow Multi Purpose Adhesive, Stampin' Dimensionals
