I finally got up the courage to apply for a design team position and guess what . . . I was accepted!! I recently joined the Late Night Stamper Yahoo Group and soon found out that they were looking to add to their design team. I decided to give it a shot and wow - I am still in awe that I've been accepted! What a great group of ladies to be associated with. I've added their links to my left side bar under the Late Night Stamper Design Team Logo. I found out last week just before Easter. As a family . . . we were just a "little" busy last week. No, make that a LOT BUSY! So, I wasn't stampin' at all except for a Big Shot Class that I had early in the week with my customers. But, that's OK . . . a little break makes stampin' just that much more fun the next time you have a chance to do it.
And . . . here is our first challenge . . . a sketch challenge by Mary Jo Price-Williams. I decided to use up some of my Christmas Designer Series Paper in a non-Christmas way. It's easy to do with Holiday Lounge as there are several sheets in this package that lend themselves well to anytime of the year. I picked Taken with Teal and Sahara Sand to work with and this is the card I came up with:
Do you like it? I have to admit . . . I wasn't too crazy about it until I got my Two-Way Glue Pen out and started playing around with some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter. That definitely gives this card some "Wow Factor!" I made my own tag because I wanted it to be perfectly sized to fit the image from Pocket Silhouettes. Making your own tag is easy to do with the Tag Corner Punch. I used the same punch to accent my corners. Notice the bit of sparkle in the corners of this card? I just put a mini glue dot into each corner and then dipped it into my Dazzling Diamonds for a little bit of fun.
The inside of the card is quite simple, but still quite striking. I used some more designer paper . . . the points that you see are actually the tips of some Christmas trees upside down! A little border strip to carry along the theme from the front of the card.
Here's a close up picture of the tag. In addition to all the sparkles, I used a Kraft Corduroy Button to accent the tag. The tag is raised up on Stampin' Dimensionals.
