5/12 Big Music Thanks

My daughter's piano teacher has me make a card each year that's big enough for a lot of people to sign and this is the card I did up for her this year. A Late Night Stamper Challenge to "sponge" on a Quick and Easy card inspired me to sponge the edges of my designer paper plus many of the other edges adding extra depth and interest to the card. Although it may not appear to be quick and easy card a first glance . . . it really wasn't too difficult to make once I figured out how to make fairly small images look BIG on this 5 1/2" x  8 1/2" card. The images are from a retired stamp set called "Elegant Notes" and I wonder if it didn't retire after just one year. I guess not enough people out there making music cards. I'm glad I have it as I've used it quite a bit! I used the Wide Oval Punch, the Big Shot Machine and my Circle Scissors Plus to get my shapes. I really like the way the clefs are tied in with the ribbon resembling a measure of music. A trio of pearls completes the look. I can't wait to see what her reaction will be . . . my guess? She's gonna like it!!

The inside of the card needed a lot of white space for people to write their names and sentiments in so all I did was use some skinny strips of paper to finish off the side edges and then . . . going "deep" into my collection of retired stamps . . . I found a sentiment from a set called "Greetings for You" that worked out perfectly along the top and bottom of the card.

Just perfect all around! Love the sponging ... and I so wish I was able to get access to this set ... it looks gorgeous! (My daughter is a singer ... and has taught herself to play piano and guitar!) She is just passionate about music ... so like you ... I would probably use it a lot! (Sigh!) This is a very glamourous card. TFS Kay! Hugs xxAxx
