5/21 Welcome Neighbor or Christmas?
This card got its start from the oval. When I saw the oval on the sketch . . . I started going though my stamp sets to see if I had any oval stamps that I could punch out with my Wide Oval Punch. Of course, I could have used a flower or any other such image and punched it out with the oval punch . . . but I wanted it to be an oval stamp. That's when I came across Sweet Season . . . a holiday set. BUT . . . I have seen some lovely new neighbor cards with it that use that Jumbo Wheel called Neighborhood. Unfortunately, I don't own that wheel. Our neighborhood is pretty stable . . . everyone seems to have been here for years already. Sometimes I wonder if "we" aren't considered the "new" neighbors as we've only lived here for 17 years!! lol! The neighbors to my left, my right and to my front have been here more than twice that!
I used Ruby Red . . . which truly, I do not like nearly as well as Riding Hood Red (hooray that Riding Hood Red is coming back!!) but it works great with the background paper that I selected from the paper pack called Storybook Specialty. I layered the Wide Oval Punch image with a die cut from the Ovals die. I used the Jumbo Brads for my circle accents. And, of course I had to use some ribbon . . . by far my most used accessory. I don't make many cards without it!
I hope you are having a nice day and happy stamping!
