6/8 LNS Brayer Challenge

The challenge this week at Late Night Stampers is to use your brayer and I'll bet you are wondering where the brayer is on this card! I didn't even have to dust my brayer off for this challenge because my brayer sits in my right hand drawer right next to me every time I stamp so that it is always handy to use it for what I use it for most . . . inking up my background stamps. You can get a nice smooth application of ink when you use a brayer directly onto your background stamp with the color of your choice. It really works slick . . . if you've never tried it, I challenge you to try it out. I think you will like the even coverage and you won't be rubbing the strings out of your ink pads anymore!

Did you notice anything else about this card? Like the NEW DIE CUT? No, no, not the flowers . . . the scalloped rectangle!! My first tease as to what will be new in our new catalog debuting on July 1. Be watching for more sneak peaks in the days to come.

The flower die is new to me . . . I just purchased it and now I don't know how I managed without it! I love the way these flowers layer. The die is called Blossom Party. I've had it on my Wish List for months . . . but it seemed like I always needed something else first . . . like paper or adhesive or ribbon. Finally, I was able to get it with some hostess credit that I had from an event I recently hosted.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Here are the supplies that I used:

Stamps: Woodgrain Background, Sweetheart for the sentiment
Paper: Bravo Burgundy, Old Olive, Night of Navy, So Saffron
Ink: Bravo Burgundy
Tools: Big Shot Machine, Clearlit Scallop Rectangle Die
Accessories: Rhinestone Brad
Adhesives: Tombow Multi Purpose Adhesive, Mini Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

As a side note . . . I just joined the Big, Wide, Free and Kind-a Scary World of Facebook!! I am going to try to tie this tool into my Stampin'Up business . . . . let me know if you have any tips for me. Thanks!

I always use my brayer to ink up backgrounds stamps, too, Kay! It really works well! On Saturday, I'll be learning from Michelle Zindorf what else you can do with a brayer. ;-)

Glad to see you on Facebook!
