8/10 My First Cute by the Inch!

I recently got the Level Two stamp set called Cute by the Inch. There are so many darling one inch designs with this set that as I put it together, I wondered which design I would use first. I decided that no matter what the sketch challenge was over at Stamping 411, I would use my new Inchie Set. Well, as you can see by the sketch, I had the perfect spot to put my inchie . . . but oh, which one to use?

I decided to begin by browsing through my designer series paper. As soon as I saw this woodgrain paper from the paper pack called Woodland Walk, my decision was made . . . the owl would win the race to be the first inchie to see ink!

I had my card almost put together, but at the last minute . . . I decided that my background needed something extra and that is when I remember my new stamp set called Paisley Prints. All of the demonstrators attending Convention this year got this stamp set and the matching wheel FREE! It was the perfect touch to brighten up my background. I stamped the leaves in Early Espresso ink . . . I didn't think I could find a brown ink that I would like better than Chocolate Chip, but Early Espresso proved me wrong! I LOVE this deep, rich color. Another color that I love is the new In Color called Concord Crush . . . look at how awesome it looks with More Mustard! I made a bow with some Natural Hemp Twine for a sweet little accent.

Here are all of the supplies I used to create this card:

Stamps: Cute by the Inch (Level Two Hostess Set), Paisley Prints (a sneak peek from out Holiday Mini Catalog)
Paper: Concord Crush, More Mustard, Early Espresso, Woodland Walk DSP
Ink: Early Espresso
Tools: Scallop Edge Border Punch, Scallop Square Extra-Large Punch
Accessories: Concord Crush 1/2" Stitched-Poly Ribbon, Natural Hemp Twine
Adhesives: Tombow Multi Purpose Adhesive, Stampin' Dimensionals

Great use of wood paper. Been wondering how that would look. And our newest technique. I do like the inch stamps! Great card!

Hi Kay! I am so sorry that I have been MIA! The hugest frustration for me at the moment ... is how much our broadband slows down at night! It gets to the point of ridiculous ... when it takes 5 mins to load a web page. So my night time blog hopping has proved to be far too frustrating ... that I just can't do it! Today I got up at 5.30am simply to catch up a little! My dh is investigating why there is such a prob ... but in the meantime I have to be patient! (And ... whilst my blog hopping is EXTREMELY important to me ... in the whole scheme of "world peace" ... this truly is trivial!!! I need to learn to "deal"!) I have so missed being here Kay! Your blog is on my "daily" list ... and I have missed the inspiration you give me! I will be back as regularly as my computer allows me! Hugs Andrea xx
PS You are right ... colours are lovely together (we get them in 2 weeks ... can't wait) ... and I giggled over your decision! TFS xxx

I love everything about your card. Your owl almost looks regal on this card. The colors are awesome and adding your own touches to the dp was a great idea. Beautiful work.
