8/12 Elecute Elephant!
Stamping 411 posted a Color Challenge today . . . Perfect Plum, Blushing Bride and Sahara Sand. Those are "elegant" colors . . . but I wanted to use one of my newest "cute" stamp sets! Hmmmm . . . how to put this one together!! I decided to see if I could combine elegant and cute and I got an "elecute" elephant! Ok, so maybe it's only kinda funny to me . . . but I like the sound of it.
I started with a base card of Perfect Plum and stamped tone on tone using what is probably one of the MOST elegant stamps in our Stampin'Up catalog . . . the Medallion background stamp. Next I stamped Elecute onto Shimmery White paper. This stamp is from the Level Two hostess set called Long Fellows. She is colored with an Aqua painter and ink off the lids of my ink pads. I sponged the edges with Blushing Bride ink and then used a sponge dauber with Perfect Plum ink to darken up the very edge of the panel. This helps provide just a bit more contrast between the Shimmery White panel and the Blushing Bride panel. I edged the Blushing Bride panel with our Scallop Trim Border Punch. The top of the image panel is accented with a scrap from the Top Note die. I decided to use the Very Vanilla 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon when I saw how it brighten up my card.
So there you have it . . . elegant and cute can be combined in a card and look quite nice together in an elecute way!
