Do you need to make Christmas cards that are flat? I do!! Once I get the family picture and the Christmas letter folded down and put into the card, I’m battling the border of being too fat for one postage stamp! My Christmas cards better stay on the flat side or they could be returned for more postage! So . . . this is one of the designs I came up with . . . Flat and Fabulous!
I have LOVED my Baroque Motifs stamp from the moment it entered my life in 2007. I was a brand new demonstrator and my brand new customers used to kid me . . . “hey, does every card you make use Baroque Motifs?” They weren’t far off the mark . . . I couldn’t get enough of that stamp set! And, I still love it! This time I’ve paired it with the new stamp set called Perfect Punches. The Real Red circle that is layered below the punched out sentiment is created with a Big Shot Die called Circles, #2. It seems to be just the right size for layering behind your 1 3/4″ Scallop Circle punch.
How do you like those scalloped borders? Yup . . . it’s from the new Big Shot Die called Tasteful Trim. This isn’t the first time I’ve used the Tasteful Trim Die . . . I think it is a MUST HAVE for scrapbookers! In fact, later this week after my scrapbook club meets on Thursday, I will post my pages that use the Tasteful Trim die-cut pieces and you will see why everyone who scrapbooks is going to want one of these dies!!
The designer series paper is from the Holiday Mini catalog called Candy Cane Christmas. I layered a couple of thin strips over the scalloped borders for a little bit of interest on this flat and fabulous card!
Have a happy stamping day!

This IS fabulous, Kay! I love the little strips of DSP that you so perfectly added to the scalloped trim. Thanks for the inspiration!
I have resisted buying this set … because I keep thinking it MUST be going to be retired soon. But … it keeps on hanging in there. I have decided to buy the "Elements of Style" instead to satisfy my yearning for a nice flourish stamp … and some extra loveliness in the other stamps in the set! Hugs Andrea xxx
Crisp, clean and fun design! Guess I'll have to break down and buy the Tasteful Trim die. It looks terrific!
