9/20 Ribbon Wreath

I had a customer request that I make the ribbon wreath that you see on page 190 of the 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog. Gulp! "That's a lot of ribbon," I said. But, being the "gamer" that I am, I decided to give it a try . . . on a much smaller scale and I have to say that I'm tickled with the results! Isn't it cute? I purchased one of those smaller grapevine wreaths and just tied it up with ribbon . . . seven yards of it on this sweet little 6" wreath! I cut the ribbon into 9" lengths. That was enough to give me some room for tying it around and for making a cute angled trim cut with my scissors. I also used one of those BBQ lighters to singe the edges of the grosgrain ribbon to keep it from unraveling. My daughter assisted . . . just in case things got out of hand! lol! The tag comes from the stamp set called Grateful Greetings and provides a nice finishing touch.

Supplies:

Stamps: Grateful Greetings
Paper: Whisper White, Real Red
Ink: Real Red
Tools: My nice, shiny and sharp Craft & Paper Scissors (though I would NEVER use it on paper!) Stampin' Up! Part Number: 108360, Large Tag Punch, Extra Large Tag Punch, Crop-a-Dial to make a hole in the tag
Accessories: 5/8" Old Olive Grosgrain, 5/8" Real Red Satin Ribbon, 1 1/4" Old Olive Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, 1 1/4" Real Red Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, 1/2" Chantilly Lace, Clear Tinsel Trim from the Holiday Mini, Natural Hemp Twine

Thanks for the quantity of ribbon note. I too have gone, Wow that's a lot of ribbon. 7 yards doesn't sound too bad. Think I will make some for special friends this year.

I needed a smaller wreath for my desk and this will be perfect!!! Thanks for sharing. On the BBQ lighter . . . my ribbon will just have to go without it. I'm an accident waiting to happen!!! LOL
