10/29 I have a friend!!

I have a friend and her name is CindySue and she's the kind of girl that brings a smile wherever she goes. She is a gifter . . . from the heart . . .  for no more reason than to see you smile, too! Look at us two! Aren't we just the cutest MN girls? And, look at that gift basket!! A Halloween treasure trove! My heart has been singing ever since she stopped by and my whole family is having fun enjoying all those treats! I took some close-ups pics for your enjoyment.

Here's the basket in all its gory glory!

CindySue knows my girls like to hunt and look at these CUTE Vitamins for Hunters!!

I like the way CindySue took the Candy Wrapper Die and stood it upright. Isn't that a neat idea?

Lantern basket with candy corn and peanuts . . . my hubby's favorite. I favor the eyeball!

More goodies and a pretty darn cute owl, too!!

Ummm . . . more candy pills! Love those cute bead bags, CindySue!

You can see CindySue is enjoying her Big Shot! Look at what she created with the Fancy Favor Die
and the Spider Web embossing folder! So glittery, too.

And this was my favorite of all . . . those pixie stix witch legs upside down in the bucket! I had to laugh out loud! Cute,  cute, cute! Thanks CindySue for your fun and friendship through the years!

10/28 Be a Friend

I saw a card by Caroline LeBel that inspired me to create this card which I used as my "Charity" card for some events that I had this fall. What's a Charity card? It's a card that my customers make and then put in a donation basket that goes to our local befrienders group. Befrienders are people who care . . . they send cards to shut ins, to people who are ill or who have experienced a loss in their lives. We can all be a friend to someone who is down. Who would you befriend today? Did you think of someone? Why not send them a hand crafted card and let them know that you are thinking of them and that they have a friend.

I love sharing, creating and bringing joy to those around me. Do you? Why not combine that passion with the Stampin' Up! career plan and build a business that emphasizes your best qualities? Have you ever actually read the Stampin' Up! booklet titled, "Open the Door to Creativity and Rewards"? It's wonderful! It's something everyone should read and carefully consider if you have ever contemplated building a home business with Stampin'Up! Encourage your SU demonstrator to give you one or if you don't have a demonstrator, E-mail me and I will happily get one of these booklets out to you so that you, too, can change your life and the lives of others by Stamping to Share.

Ink: Early Espresso, Real Red

10/25 The Show Stopping Tag!

Isn't this tag gorgeous? My customers got to make it at my clubs this past month. I am also featuring this project at all of my home workshops in November. I was inspired by the beautiful tags in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini catalog on page 21. It actually goes together quite easily. The gorgeous paper called Deck the Halls really pulls it all together. The bells, stamped with StazOn onto Crumb Cake card stock is colored by touching your Stampin' Up! Marker to the "hash" marks and then using a blender pen to pull the color into the rest of the image. The bells themselves were colored straight on with Sahara Sand Marker, no blending needed. I added Champagne Glass Glitter adhered with Crystal Effects for the "wow" touch.

If you live with in a 100 miles of the Twin Cities and you would like to hostess a Stampin' Up Workshop so that you and your friends can make this wonderful tag . . . please e-mail me! We will set up a date and time.

Two of my daughters went duck hunting this past weekend with their grandpa in Southern MN and came home with Wood Ducks and Mallards. We feasted this evening on fresh roasted duck marinated in Peach Schnapps (ummm-ummmm!) and Wild Rice with Vegetables and Bacon. Just AMAZING!! The house still smells sooooo good. Another one of my daughters was away at Space Camp in Alabama this past weekend and my husband and I got in some golfing and a couple of relaxing days at our cabin in Wisconsin. We all scattered and now it's good to home all together again.

Supplies to make this gorgeous tag:

Stamps: Bells and Boughs
Paper: Crumb Cake, Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler, Deck the Halls Designer Series Paper
Ink: StazOn Black, Always Artichoke sponged onto the edges of the sentiment and the scallop circle
Tools: Scallop Oval Punch, 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, Crop-a-Dial to make a hole for the ribbon and the antique brad, Stampin' Sponges, Blender Pen
Accessories: Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding, Deck the Halls Big Designer Button, Antique Brad, Champagne Glass Glitter, Linen Thread, Stamin' Up! Markers in Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke, Sahara Sand, More Mustard
Adhesives: Mini Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals stacked two high to bring the sentiment and image to same level as the button, and Crystal Effects to adhere the glass glitter

10/17 12x12 Snow Days Pages

This is one of the layouts that my Open Scrapbook Club did this past week. I just love the new Decorative Strip die called Northern Frost that gives you eight beautiful and unique snowflakes. You can find the die on page 38 of the Holiday Mini Catalog.

Here's a close up picture of some of the snowflakes that decorate this double page layout. I love how the Snowflake punch fits perfectly into the Snowflake #2 Die. It's accented with a Clear Rhinestone Brad.

Here are the supplies I used:

Paper: Marina Mist, Whisper White, Pacific Point
Tools: Big Shot Machine, Norther Frost Decorative Strip Die, Snowflake #2 Die, Serif Essentials Alphabet, Scallop Circle Die, Clear Circle Die, Clear Scallop Square Die, Tasteful Trim Die, Snowflake Punch
Accessories: Clear Rhinestone Brads
Adhesives: Multi Purpose Liquid Glue, Dotto Repositional Adhesive for the photo mats so they can be removed to fit the pictures before being adhered permanently

10/14 Reminders and a Christmas Card

The Clearance Rack Blitz has been a big hit with demonstrators and customers, but if you want to take advantage of up to 80 percent off of discontinued Stampin’ Up! products, you need to act fast. The Clearance Rack Blitz ends on October 18, so be sure to place your online orders before the blitz ends! Just click HERE, then click on Shop Now . . . then click on the clearance rack and you are set to go! The first day or two that this sale was up you may have experienced some glitches due to the high volume of people trying to get into the site. It's all fixed now, so be sure to check it out again if you were frustrated the first time or two.

You have until midnight tomorrow to place your Class Kit to Go order featuring the stamp set called Greeting Card Kids . . . just the sweetest set and I have to admit . . . I quite outdid myself on this one! lol! I do not sure details about these cards on my blog or anywhere else so that they stay special to the people who purchase my kits. Read all the details about it HERE.

There are only four days left to take advantage of the of the Craft Tote Recruiting Promotion--this offer ends October 18 or while supplies last. You can read a lot more about it by visiting this post HERE. If you have any questions about how building a Stampin' Up! business can fit into your life and how you CAN make money sharing what you love . . . please don't hesitate to email me. I would love to be the one who opens the door to a great new opportunity for you and your family!

This card is what I made for the GoDiva Swap late last month and also for swapping with my downline. It's a quick one to put together has so much boldness and pop. All you need is a Real Red card base and then a layer of designer paper with some sort of red pattern. I used the Big Shot to cut an oval from Real Red paper and then I cut the scallop out with Whisper White paper. The image is stamped onto the red oval with Versa Mark, sprinkled with Whisper White embossing powder and the heat tool is employed to do its magic. A few basic pearls placed strategically about the card and you can call it ready for the holidays!

Supplies from Stampin' Up:

Stamps: Christmas Postcard from the Holiday Mini
Paper: Real Red, Whisper White, Play Date Designer Series Paper
Ink: Versa Mark
Tools: Heat Tool, Paper Piercer for the placement of the pearls, Big Shot Machine, Scallop Frame Die
Accessories: White embossing powder, Basic Pearls
Adhesives: Multi Purpose Liquid Glue

10/12 Stamping to Share Demo Meeting Cards

I had a downline meeting recently and we had so much fun. One of the highlights of our meeting is to swap cards out with each other. Our theme this month was Anything Christmas. Here are the beautiful cards we exchanged. Enjoy

So much to be inspired by! I will share the card I swapped tomorrow, as right now I have to get ready for a couple of events that are coming up sooner rather than later. Wow - how time can fly! Have a GREAT day!

10/8 Scrapbooking at Kay's . . . look what we'll do!

Do you like to scrapbook but don't make the time to do it? Or, do you spend more time trying to come up with an idea than you do scrapbooking? Maybe this class if for you! This is what we are going to do next week on the 14th. If you are local and would like to join us . . . just send me a quick e-mail before Tuesday, October 12 and I will reserve supplies for you. The cost of the class is only $12 for two 12x12 double page layouts. The fee is waived if you decide to purchase at least $25 in Stampin' Up! merchandise after the class. Since we are making page layouts, you do not need to bring pictures with you. Photo mats are adhered with removable adhesive so you can fit them to your photos at a later date. This also allows you more flexibility if you want to add more photos than the layout suggests.

Here are a couple of close-ups of the pages. I just love the "pile" of leaves on the left side. The colors will look great with all those autumn pictures . . . Elegant Eggplant, Always Artichoke, More Mustard, Cajun Craze and Cherry Cobbler. All of the leaves were created with the Big Shot Machine and the Leaves #2 Die. They glammed up with another trip through the Big Shot . . . this time with various embossing folders. The flourishes are from the Decorative Accents Die. And, the zig-zaggy border on the right is from Tasteful Trim. Will I ever make another scrapbook page without it? Hmmmm . . . that's debatable! LOVE that die!

Supplies:

Paper: Elegant Eggplant, Always Artichoke, More Mustard, Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler
Tools: Big Shot Machine, Decorative Accents Die, Leaves #2 Die, Tasteful Trim Die, Serif Essentials Alphabet, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Finial Press Embossing Folder and Square Lattice Embossing Folder

Isn't the Level Two Hostess set called Long Fellows just a kick? This card shows how you can use those long fellows to show them coming and going! I was inspired to make this card by the Mary Jo Price-Williams Lunchtime Sketch Challenge.

I used markers to color in the alligators . . . super quick and markers are great for small spaces!

Here are the Stampin' Up! supplies that I used to make this card:

Stamps: Level Two Hostess Set called Long Fellows
Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Whisper White, Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper
Ink: StazOn Black
Tools: 1 3/8" Square Punch to make the angled pennant
Accessories: 5/8" Basic Black Grosgrain Ribbon, Markers in Pumpkin Pie, Pear Pizzazz and Baja Breeze
Adhesives: Multi Purpose Liquid Glue, SNAIL (great stuff for attaching ribbon!), Stampin' Dimensionals

It only takes a $300 workshop or catalog show to earn a Level Two stamp set! Email me and we can get the date set! You and your guests will get to create two fabulous projects and there are special gifts just for my hostesses.

10/6 Drip Drop ReInker Technique Video

Yesterday was my middle daughter's 15th birthday so the card that I made for her is from the background that I made on my first video. I just love how it turned out . . . here is the finished card:

I'm sure you are noticing all the pearls . . . a girl who is 15 can never have too many pearls, right? I love our basic pearls but I've tended not to use the teeny tiny ones quite as much so I have several sheets where just the teeny tiny ones are left. But . . . don't they look perfect on the scallops? I also really like how they blinged up the flower accents I put in the corners. The tiny scallops behind the Pumpkin Pie grosgrain ribbon is from the new border punch called Dotted Scallop Ribbon. The 1/4" grosgrain fits over it perfectly. The ribbon behind it is our Old Olive 5/8" grosgrain. I kept the sentiment toward the lower part of the card because I wanted to keep the background a prominent part of the card which I think worked in this case.

OK - now . . . about the video. Let me tell you, I need a lot more practice at this. My girls were appalled at my "lisp" and figured people wouldn't even watch it past the first 30 seconds! I told them that stampers aren't as picky as teenagers and they will forgive me. I guess my camera really picks up "s" sounds or else maybe I do have a lisp when I'm nervous. So, my apologies for that. And, I don't have anything fancy to begin or end my video - it's straight off the camera. We do have a video editing program but I don't know how to work it. (That and 90% of all the other technology in my home! lol) My kids always promise that they will help . . . but they never do because they are hardly ever home and when they are . . . they are swamped with homework.

The other thing is that it takes FOREVER to upload videos! I don't know if it's because I have a low connection speed (which I didn't think I did . . . but maybe I do) or if I just need to find a lot more to do around the house while it is uploading which might make the time go faster. So, I may have to call a stamping buddy a little more computer savvy than me to find out if that is "normal" or not.

Here are the Stampin' Up! supplies I used to make this card:

Stamps: Paisley Prints, Word Play, Full of Life for the inside sentiment
Paper: Eggplant Envy, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Very Vanilla
Ink: Eggplant Envy and reinkers in Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and Eggplant Envy
Tools: 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, BoHo Blossoms Punch, Photo Corner Punch, Dotted Scallop Border Punch, Paper Piercing Tool to apply the pearls to the card
Accessories: Basic Pearls, 1/4" Pumpkin Pie Grosgrain Ribbon, 5/8" Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon
Adhesives: SNAIL, Multi Purpose Liquid Glue, Stampin' Dimensionals

10/4 Drip Drop ReInker Technique

This card was made with the stamp set called Paisley Prints. I did it for my clubs in September and I also made this card for a Leadership Swap that I participated in. It uses the Drip Drop on a Baby Wipe Technique. I actually made a video to demonstrate how to do this . . . it's a quick one so I was actually able to get through it without having to stop the camera!! If all goes to plan . . . I will post that tomorrow. I've been debating whether or not I wanted to take that next step and with some encouragement from my daughters, I decided to go for it! So, stay tuned . . . this should be interesting!
Here are the supplies I used on this card:

Stamps: Paisley Prints, Grateful Greetings
Ink: Eggplant Envy, Reinkers in Old Olive, Elegant Eggplant, and Pumpkin Pie
Paper: Elegant Eggplant, Pear Pizzazz, Pumpkin Pie, Very Vanilla
Tools: Dotted Ribbon Scallop Border Punch, Ticket Corner Punch, Photo Corner Punch
Accessories: 1/8" Pumpkin Pie Ribbon
Adhesives: Multi Purpose Liquid Glue, SNAIL

10/2 Imagine the Possibilities!!

Isn't this card pretty? And, it is fast and fabulous to make . . . no wait ... that's actually the name of the stamp set!! lol! Both ways, it's true! I made several of these cards to give to my guests who are coming to my Stamping to Share Demonstrator meeting. I enjoy inviting some of my best customers to my demo meetings so they can get an inside look at what's going on in the Stampin' Up world. Sometimes there are "sneak peaks" or "announcements of upcoming promotions" but ALWAYS there is something to stamp, something to eat and new friends to meet!

I even have a couple of long-distance customers who are contemplating the idea of joining Stampin'Up . . . and why not? Who doesn't like to make extra money? Stampin'Up has turned into a good source of income for me and I'm so glad I said "yes" to becoming a demonstrator. I did it when there wasn't a single special thing going on . . . and the Starter Kit was actually more expensive than it is now! You on the other hand only pay $175 for a Starter Kit that has a value of $300! And, the coolest thing about getting started now is that your clients will be buying CHRISTMAS supplies for making cards, gifts and even purchasing things to give to their crafting friends and family! Just imagine the possibilities!!

And just look at that!! The tote you see pictured above might be the best reason of all to get started now!! It's awesome and it's only available while supplies last through October 18!! You can read more details about it in this post HERE.

Here are the supplies I used for the Fast and Fabulous card:

Stamps: Fast & Fabulous (level two hostess set), Word Play
Paper: Soft Suede, Marina Mist, More Mustard, Very Vanilla
Ink: Soft Suede, Marina Mist, More Mustard
Accessories: Marina Mist 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Circle Fire Rhinestone Brads
Adhesives: SNAIL, Multi Purpose Liquid Glue

Greeting Card Kids . . . just too cute for words!! And, it's my featured stamp set for the month of October.
My October Class Kit to Go features five sweet cards with three of them pictured above. You will get all the paper and embellishments you need to create the three cards pictured here plus two more with your Class Kit to Go. This stamp set is on page 36 of our 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog and it's also pictured at the bottom of this post. One of the best things, I think, about Class Kits to Go is that everything arrives pre-cut, pre-die-cut and pre-punched. All you have to do is stamp, color and assemble. I would highly recommend using StazOn Jet Black ink (101406) to do the stamping of your images and all of the coloring is done with ink pressed up onto the backs of your stamp pads and lifted off to your paper with Blender Pens (102845).

How do you get the October Class Kit To Go? Well, it's yours for just $5 when when you purchase from me stamp set called Greeting Card Kids. You will get all of the paper pre-cut, pre-punched and pre-die-cut along with the embellishments to make five different cards. I will e-mail a PDF file of pictures and instructions to you once I've mailed or delivered your kit. I will collect your orders through the 15th of October. After that time, I will place an order with Stampin' Up!, assemble the Class Kits to Go and then deliver or mail out your stamp set along with your 5 card kit.

Please place your orders directly through me by e-mailing me HERE. Don't forget to add on your Jet Black StazOn ink and the blender pens if you need them. I accept cash, check or I can give you a pay pal link.

Here are the prices for the Greeting Card Kids Stamp Set & Kit. I will do add ons as needed.
