11/20 Downline Meeting Challenge Cards

Last month I challenged the demonstrators that I meet with on a monthly basis to make a project that is some way incorporated the following . . . a Basic Black Glimmer Brad, a scrap of paper from the Newsprint Designer Series Paper Pack and a bit of 5/8" Basic Black Grosgrain Ribbon. It was just delightful to see the variety of projects that everyone shared!! I hope you enjoy the results as much as I do. Oh, and please do not ask me for instructions as to how to do these projects. I know that a post like this one . . . showcasing the talents of the people I love to hang out with, will get a lot of oooohs and aaaaahs. A couple of these projects are so masterful that I couldn't even begin to tell you how to create it. And that star book . . . sigh . . . is truly WAY beyond my talents! I do, however, feel so blessed to be surrounded by people I can learn from and maybe someday . . . I'll do a star book, too! (Or not!! lol!) Enjoy!

11/17 Simply Adorned (Part Three)

Here it is . . . my "Create" pendant that I wear a lot!! I even purchased a couple of charms from Stampin' Ups! Holiday Mini catalog to put on my chain and like Shelli, our fabulous co-founder, used a little lace to make it pretty. This pendant is the size that is on sale in our bundle right now. It's 1" x 1 1/4" and I used the bundle stamp set called Charming to make the word background and the butterfly. The pretty spring of green with bright flower accents is a stamp from the set called Mini Tags. I used markers to color directly on the stamp before stamping it onto my insert.

I made a couple of extra inserts for all of my down-lines who achieved $500 or more in sales during the month of October. I was wondering how I could make it a pretty presentation and this is what I came up with. I used the 2 1/2" Circle Punch on the Daffodil Delight and the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch with the Melon Mambo. The insert is adhered with Dotto, a temporary adhesive. You might have noticed that my butterfly is stamped separately and then cut out. I put it onto the insert with a mini glue dot.

All supplies from Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Charming, Mini Tags
Paper: Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Whisper White
Ink: Marine Mist, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo
Tools: 2 1/2" Circle Punch, 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch
Accessories: Melon Mambo Marker, Garden Green Marker, 1" x 1 1/4" Simply Adorned Charm, 24" Simply Adorned Chain, Clear Crystal Bauble, Vanilla Pearl Bauble, Chantilly 1/2" Lace
Adhesives: Mini Glue Dot, Dotto, Multi Purpose Liquid Adhesive

11/14 A Snowflake Insert for Simply Adorned (Part Two)

We had a "bit" of a snowstorm in parts of Minnesota this weekend so this Simply Adorned Pendant insert is truly appropriate! The snow was so heavy that it clogged up snowblowers and people had to resort to shoveling . . . can you imagine? lol!! Oh, the fun we have during the snow season in MN. Actually, some of it really IS fun . . . like snowmobiling, ice fishing, skating, skiing and stamping! (That last one there is what I like to do on a long winter night.

This pendant is sized at 1 1/2" x 2" and it has a beveled glass front. (the bevel did not show up in the picture, but I promise that it is there.) You do not want to put dimension on your inserts unless the insert is going into the beveled side or you can risk breaking or otherwise damaging your pendant.

My first step to create this insert was to cut a piece of Marina Mist paper to the size of the pendant. Then I used the Jumbo Wheel called Whimsy to give this insert some "wind." I had to add some teeny tiny snowflakes dusting around, too, and I used the stamp set called Jolly Old St. Nick which had teeny tiny snowflakes that were just the size I was looking for. The stamped wind and snow were inked up with Marina Mist. I love tone on tone looks.

To make the sparkly, gorgeous white snowflakes, I took a piece of Whisper White paper and ran it through the Big Shot with the Decorative Strip Die called Northern Frost. I poked all the chads out of the flakes with my Paper Piercing Tool and then I took my Versa Mark pad and pressed it over the top of the snowflakes covering them in Versa Mark. Once that was done, I poured Heat and Stick powder over them and then I heated them up with my heat tool until they were nice and sticky. This is NOT a long process. As soon as the powder turns from white to clear you are done. If you keep going over it . . . you will lose the stick and that would not be good because the next step is to pour Dazzling Diamonds over your sticky flakes. Shake off the excess and heat it up again using your heat tool. The snowflakes will become super sparkly as the stick goes away. A fabulous technique you might want to try!

Then, I simply adhered the snowflakes to the insert and trimmed off the overhang making the edges even. I added a couple of Basic Rhinestones to complete the look. So pretty, don't you think?

Supplies:

Stamps: Whimsy Jumbo Wheel, tiny snowflakes from Jolly Old St. Nick
Paper: Marina Mist, Whisper White
Ink: Marina Mist, Versa Mark
Tools: Big Shot Machine, Northern Frost Decorative Strip Die, Heat Tool, Paper Piercing Tool - not only pokes the chads out of the flakes, but it is also handy to hold your snowflake in place while you are applying heat from your Heat Tool and for placement of the rhinestones
Accessories: 1 1/2" x 2" Simply Adorned Pendant
Adhesives: Multi Purpose Liquid Glue

11/11 Simply Adorned Jewelry from Stampin' Up! (Part One)

I have to admit that I am completely enamored by Stampin'Ups! Simply Adorned Jewelry line. I recently purchased the 1" x 1" Charm and this is how I decorated it. Isn't it pretty? And I wear a lot of clothes during our MN winters with shades of brown so I think I'll be able to use this insert a lot. Since it is a 1" square, this charm insert fits perfectly into the Petal Card Punch piece. Above you can see the punch piece all folded up and below is how it looks when the recipient unfolds her special gift.

Are you wondering what stamp sets I used? The word latte comes from the stamp set called Pun Fun (page 76 in our current catalog). I just highlighted the word with my Soft Suede marker and stamped it onto Very Vanilla card stock. The tiny coffee cup is from the stamp set called Itty Bitty Bits (page 130 of our current catalog). The paper pieces layered over the Very Vanilla card stock are from the Designer Series Paper Pack called Elegant Soirée.

As the title indicates . . . I have a series of inserts to show you! Stay tuned for Parts Two and Three! The Simply Adorned Bundle might be something you want to check out . . . if you like it and if you also like saving 20%!! You can click on the My Promotions link below to check out prices. Have a great day and do some Stamping to Share!!

Here are the Stampin'Up! supplies that I used:

Stamps: Pun Fun, Itty Bitty Bits
Paper: Very Vanilla, Elegant Soirée DSP
Ink: Soft Suede
Tools: Stampin' Sponge, Petal Card Punch
Accessories: Soft Suede Marker, Simply Adorned 1" Charm

11/9 Buffet Season & a New Associate!

One of my downline, Terri Hall, stopped in to drop off some catalogs that I was borrowing in advance of my trip out to South Dakota to conduct a Stampin' Up! workshop and she showed me the neatest idea that you can do with the Big Shot Machine and the Decorative Accents Die.

What you do is cut out three Decorative Accent Pieces. Score them down the middle and adhere them with Multi Purpose Liquid Glue. It will make a little stand up piece as shown above. And, now the neat part . . . .

Take a panel of paper trimmed to 1 1/2" x 4 1/2" and insert it as shown and you have an instant Place Card Holder . . . just in time for the upcoming buffet season!! It can also be fancy name card holder, too. I just love it!! Thank you, Terri, for sharing this great idea with me!

And, my weekend workshop in South Dakota was hit with all the guests. My hostess, Karen, had a Grand Slam Workshop with sales of over $700, a booking and one of her guests became one of my new business associates right then and there!

A warm welcome to Angie Lunden, who just joined my Creative Crafters Stamping to Share Team. Angie picked the perfect time to become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator as she will be able to reap the benefits of Christmas sales, and have her business up and running when Sale-a-bration begins in January. Thanks Angie, for making a great business decision and you know I'm here for you every step of the way!

Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by my blog today.  Here are the supplies to make the Place Card Holders:

Paper: Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake
Tools: Big Shot Machine, Decorative Accents Die
Adhesives: Multi Purpose Liquid Glue

11/7 12x12 Santa is Coming to Town!

Isn't this scrapbook layout fun? My favorite part, next to Santa, is the present on the right hand page with room for four pictures. And, I feel so clever with the way my bow came together. I used the die called Blossom Party as a layer behind the snowflake. Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding pulls it all together for a neatly wrapped up look.

Here's a close up of Santa from the stamp set in the Holiday Mini called Jolly Old St. Nick. I used a blender pen and ink from the lid of my ink pads to color him. He's so easy to color because there is so much white space. His little hat is colored with Cherry Cobbler and the face and cheeks are varying shades of Regal Rose. You might be able to just see it . . . I sparkled up the background paper with some Vanilla Smooch Spritz. I'm lovin' that look on my scrapbook pages.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Here are the Stampin'Up Supplies I used to create these pages:

Stamps: Jolly Old St. Nick
Paper: 12x12 Cherry Cobbler, 12x12 Whisper White, Basic Black, Old Olive
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Regal Rose, StazOn Black
Tools: Big Shot Machine, Tasteful Trim Die, Extended Cutting Pads, Blossom Party, Top Note, Serif Essentials Alphabet, Simple Letters Alphabet, Northern Frost Decorative Strip, Decorative Strip Spacer Platform, Decorative Strip Cutting Pads, Paper Piercing Tool for rhinestone placement and to poke out the chads from the snowflakes
Accessories: Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding, Vanilla Smooch Spritz
Adhesives: Multi Purpose Liquid Glue, Stampin' Dimensionals to pop up the bow

11/04 Thanksgiving 12x12

My scrappers will be putting creating this two page layout a week from today. I just love the way this turned out. The 12x12 card stock base is Soft Suede. There's a strip of green at the bottom from the Specialty Designer Series paper pack called Autumn Spice. You can see some Tasteful Trim accent pieces. Oh, how I love that die!! It's a dream die for every scrapbooker out there - four different trim pieces a full 12" long.

Occasionally, I get e-mails wondering about the size of my mats. They are usually standard picture sizes either 4x6 or 5x7. If you see a smaller one, it's usually 4x4. I try to keep it simple. The mats are always adhered with dotto until pictures can be fitted to them, or perhaps removed completely depending on what is needed when it's time to put the pictures on. If you see a frame around the mat, it's always a 1/4" bigger than the mat.

Isn't Mr. Turkey a cutie? He is made with that long leaf in the Leaves #2 Die. Even his beak and wattle are made from the leaf die . . . isn't it nice when you can create so many different looks with one image? The turkey's body and head are created with circles are from the Circles #2 Die and the feet are from the Snowflake Punch.

There's just a tiny bit of stamping on this project using the stamp set called Falling Leaves. You could also decorate this area much more minimally and use it for a journaling box. How do you like the Soft Suede Frame? I made it with the Scallop Oval Frame Die. Just center a 3"x4 1/2" piece of paper over the die and when you cut it out, it looks like this. I discovered this by accident when I needed just the oval for another project I was working on.

Here's the title. I just got the alphabet die set called Simple Letters so I was anxious to use it - - - totally fun. The maple leaf is from the same die that I created the turkey from. If you click on this picture so that it is enlarged, you will see the spots and speckles on the Soft Suede. It's Smooch Spritz and it's really fun to use it on your scrapbook pages.

If you are in the area and you would like to attend this scrapbooking event that you can read about HERE, just e-mail me and I will reserve a spot for you!

Stampin' Up! Supplies:

Stamps: Falling Leaves
Paper: Soft Suede 12x12, Night of Navy 12x12, Pear Pizzazz, Cherry Cobbler, More Mustard, Elegant Eggplant, Pumpkin Pie, Autumn Spice Specialty DSP
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Pear Pizzazz, Night of Navy, Elegant Eggplant, Cherry Cobbler, More Mustard for sponging up the oval where the stamping takes place, Early Espresso for sponging up the turkey
Tools: Big Shot Machine, Leaves #2 Die, Simple Letters Alphabet Dies, Scallop Oval Frame Die, Tasteful Trim Die, Circle #2 Die, Stampin' Sponges, Snowflake Punch
Accessories: Log Cabin Smooch Spritz

11/2 Cute Christmas Gift Card

Isn't this gift card just the cutest? I've seen the owl with the snowflake antlers in a couple of places on the web and couldn't wait to put my own spin on it.

The gift card is created from Stampin' Up!'s Two Tags Die. Just make sure that you put the fold of your card stock just above the cut line at the bottom edge of the tag so that your tag becomes a fold out. As you can see, gift cards fit onto the tag perfectly. Just adhere the gift card with Dotto Removable Adhesive so that it can be easily removed.

This sweet little gift card will be one of my featured club projects this month. If you are not in one of my clubs, but you would like to be, The Sunshine Club may be the perfect option for you. Click HERE to read more about it.

Have a great day!

Supplies:

Paper: Real Red, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Candy Cane Christmas Specialty Designer Paper
Tools: Big Shot Machine, Two Tags Die, Corner Rounder Punch, Owl Punch, Snowflake Punch, Paper Piercing Tool to pick up the teeny tiny eyes for placement with a teeny tiny drop of Multi Purpose Liquid Glue
Accessories: Real Red Satin Ribbon, Clear Tinsel Trim
Adhesives: Multi Purpose Liquid Glue, Mini Glue Dots, SNAIL Adhesive, Dotto Removable Adhesive
