12/21 Hostess Appreciation Calendars

A week ago today I invited everyone who had been a hostess for me since July over to my house for a Christmas Tea. I had a morning session and an evening session so we could keep the groups to about twelve people in each session. I served Kay's Christmas Tea for Twelve. It's a recipe that I created and my family loves it! Turns out the hostesses did, too, which is why I will share it here at the bottom of this post.

We played Christmas Bingo with enough prizes on the table for everyone to go home with two (even the losers! lol!), drank our tea (I also had coffee and pop available), ate Christmas Cookies (which I baked myself!) and made calendars. I created the calendars by combining ideas from both Tiffany Bauer and Connie Babbert. Each one was a little bit different . . . and they turned out so fabulous! I took pictures of the four I had out as samples.

We used the stamp set Inspired by Nature for the sentiment. The calendars come from a place called Vippies. Their website is http://www.vippies.com/. I used the large size which is 3" x 2 1/4".

This is a side view of our calendar. The antique brad holds the easel fold in place. Sometimes, I use a glue dot on the back side just behind the brad area to hold the easel in place, otherwise it can flip forward pretty easily.

All of the calendars were decorated with paper from the designer series paper pack called Play Date. The butterflies were cut with the Big Shot Machine and the Embosslit Die called Beautiful Wings.

One of the things I love the most about this calendar is that it sits on a box shell and you can slide the box part out to the side where you can keep post it notes, a pencil and a few paper clips nice and handy.

Hope you enjoyed seeing what my hostesses got to make. With Sale-a-brtion right around the corner, you will want to book your workshop soon, please e-mail me so we can pick a date that works the best for you. My next Hostess Appreciation will be in June. Have a wonderful day!

Stampin'Up! Supplies:

Stamps: Inspired by Nature
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Old Olive, Whisper White
Ink: Real Red, Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise
Tools: Big Shot Machine, Embosslit Die Beautiful Wings, Paper Piercing Tool and Mat Pack to make a hole for the brad
Accessories: Antique Brads, Satin Ribbon: Real Red, Old Olive, Vippie Calendar
Adhesives: Multi Purpose Liquid Glue, Mini Glue Dots to adhere the butterflies

Kay's Christmas Tea for 12

8 Cups Water
1 Cup Sugar
3 Cinnamon Sticks
10 Whole Cloves
8 Tea Bags (black tea . . . mine were decaf)
2 1/2 Cups Cranberry Juice
1 1/2 Cups Orange Juice
The Juice from one Lemon (about 1/3 C)

Bring the first four ingredients to a boil in a heavy large saucepan over high heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Boil for 6 minutes. Remove from heat, add the tea bags, cover and let steep for 10 minutes. Discard tea bags. Remove the spices. Add the juices to the tea. This can be prepared a day ahead. Just cover and refrigerate. Rewarm before serving. (I served mine in a crock pot so it was easy to keep warm while we were stamping.) You can add garnishes of orange and lemon slices if you would like. They look pretty floating on top of the warm tea.

12/20 Word Play with a Heart

Is anyone else just a little busy? Where did all my fun stampin' time go?? I will have to delve into some things I haven't had a chance to post yet. Enjoy!

This is a card that I gave to my brand new Senior Associate at my last downline meeting. The sentiment is stamped with Versa Mark ink and embossed using the Heat Tool with White Embossing powder. I used the same technique on the heart on a scrap of Real Red which I then cut out and popped up onto the card with dimensionals. A simple ribbon tied around the card gives this card the perfect finishing touch.

The inside of the card is left blank with the exception of the lower left corner where I stamped the heart in Real Red ink. So sweet and pretty. This is a nice card that can work for many different occasions.

Have a happy stamping day!!

The Stampin'Up! supplies that I used to create this card are listed below:

Stamps: Word Play, I {Heart} Hearts
Paper: Real Red, Whisper White
Ink: Versa Mark, Real Red
Tools: Heat Tool
Accessories: 5/8" Whisper White Organza Ribbon, White Embossing Powder
Adhesives: SNAIL, Stampin' Dimensionals

12/14 Welcome Card

Isn't this a sweet and simple card? I made this for all the new gals joining the Stamping to Share Team last month. A big welcome to Angie, Noreen, Nichole, Cindy, Sharon, Tasha, Roberta, Kari, Dawn and Laura . . . it's so wonderful to have you on board!

This card has wonderful pop with the contrast of background paper. I used Baja Breeze paper from the Subtles Paper Stack and Poppy Parade paper from the In Color Paper Stack. The scallop square is created from the Scallop Squares Duo Die run through the Big Shot Machine. A skinny little mat of Poppy Parade helps to set off the stamped image on the Very Vanilla paper. The silver brad, Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon and popped up heart seem to be the perfect accents to give the card some balance and detail.

Here are the Stampin' Up! Supplies I used:

Stamps: Love You Much
Paper: Early Espresso, Baja Breeze, Poppy Parade, Very Vanilla, Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack, In Color Designer Series Paper Stack
Ink: Poppy Parade
Tools: Big Shot Machine, Scallop Squares Duo, Heart to Heart Punch, Paper Piercing Tool and Mat Pack to make a hole for the brad
Accessories: Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon, Silver Brad
Adhesives: Multi Purpose Liquid Glue, Dimensionals

12/10 A Caribou Coffee Explosion Box!

Terri Hall is a part of my awesome Stamping to Share Team . . . do you know how she found me? Through my Demonstrator Business Website. She was demo shopping as she hadn't been in touch with a SU demonstrator since moving to Minnesota some years ago. She gave me a call while I was at Convention and said she wanted to be on my team! I've been having a ball getting to know Terri ever since!

The first thing you need to know about her is that she has a kind and generous heart. She is always so supportive and positive . . . someone who is a true blessing in my life. And then, just LOOK at what she made me for Christmas . . . a Caribou Coffee Explosion Box! She knows me well . . . Caribou Coffee is my favorite coffee shop and I go there to get away from it all and just relax. I always know where I am in relation to the nearest Caribou and plan my "escapes" accordingly! lol!

Don't you just love the tiny little cup overflowing complete with "whip cream?" (actually a few fluffed up cotton balls) and even CHOCOLATE . . . both dark and milk and I like both! A little napkin with a place to write down my Stampin'Up goals (that would be DISNEY!) and a gift card. I love, love, love it!! Thank you SO much, Terri!! Big HUGS!

12/10 Treat Boxes for My Downline!

Aren't these boxes impressive? I had to take a group picture to show them off. This is what I gave my downline and adoptees at my Stamping to Share Demo Christmas party earlier this week. The idea is not mine . . . (very few ideas actually are! lol!). Dawn Olchefske gets the credit for this one! I'd been waiting all year to make these and I really, really like how they turned out and so did my Stamping to Share team.

You made the little boxes from the Stampin'Up! Matchbox Die that you roll through the Big Shot Machine. I stacked a one up so you could see the front and a close up of the top. The tag is from the stamp set called Tags til Christmas.

And, above you can see that the Hershey Nuggets fit four to a box perfectly. I wrapped each candy with designer series paper to coordinate with the outside of the box.

Have a wonderful day . . . I hope you do some "Stamping to Share!"

Supplies from Stampin' Up!:

Stamps: Tags til Christmas
Paper: Garden Green, Real Red, Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Candy Cane Christmas Designer Series Paper (no longer available)
Ink: Garden Green, Real Red
Tools: Big Shot Machine, Matchbox Die, Scallop Edge Border Punch, Scallop Square Punch, Modern Label Punch, Paper Piercing Tool to make a hole in the tag and in the boxes for the brad
Accessories: Real Red Satin Ribbon, Vintage Brads, Linen Thread

12/5 Peek-a-Boo Christmas Card

I LOVE this embossing folder called Northern Flurry. I have to say, here in MN, we've been getting more than flurries, though!! I recently designed this sweet and easy card as an invitation for a Christmas party that I am hosting this year. It was super fun to make and features a cute little peek-a-boo. You can take your pick of Christmas Cheer to put in the peek-a-boo. The stamp set called Jolly Bingo Bits has 24 perfectly sized peek-a-boo stamps. I selected the Reindeer, but a Christmas wreath, Christmas stocking or even a pair of mittens would look just as cute peeking through the ornament. Below you can see the card partially opened so you can see just how the peek-a-boo portion works.

Here are the Stampin' Up! supplies that I used to create this card:

Stamps: Jolly Bingo Bits
Paper: Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White
Ink: Craft Whisper White, Early Espresso
Tools: Big Shot Machine, Northern Flurry Embossing Folder, 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Paper Piercing Tool for rhinestone placement, Sponge Dauber to dab on the Craft White ink
Accessories: Basic Rhinestones, 1/8" Early Espresso Ribbon
Adhesives: SNAIL to adhere the ribbon, Mini Glue Dot to adhere the bow, Multi Purpose Liquid Glue

12/2 Pop Up Snowman in a Matchbox

This is a pretty cute box all by itself . . . but when you open it up . . . surprise . . . up pops a snowman from the Jolly Old St. Nick stamp set!

These snowman are so quick and easy to color. Just use a blender pen and ink from the lid of your ink pad. I coordinated the colors with Jolly Holiday Designer Series Paper and used Cherry Cobbler ink for the mittens and the scarf. The hat and buttons are Basic Black. You might even notice the sparkles . . . no snowman is complete without sparkles!! Dazzling Diamonds go on slick as a whistle with just a touch of your 2-Way Glue Pen.

Here's a picture of what the snowman looks like just as you are opening the box.

If you are making a sweet little matchbox treat box . . . there better be treats!! Yum . . . yum!!!

If you are interested in exactly how this whole cute little box is put together, just pull up the floorboard and look underneath. The ribbon is taped down nice and flat. The clear strips a from a medium window sheet. You can see the mini glue dots that I used to adhere them to the base of the box and to the snowman pop up.

And, the final picture just shows what it looks like when you put the "floor board" back!! lol! I always like a nice clean, finished look to my projects just as you do, too.

Have a happy and wonderful Stamping to Share day!!
