8/31 Stampin' Up! Morning Cup

I'm really happy with this card . . . first of all, I love coffee/tea stamp sets and recently got this Stampin' Up! set called Morning Cup. And second, this card shows just how gorgeous the 3/8" Ruffled In Color ribbon is! And, how well it goes with the Eyelet Border Punch. . . . just perfectly!

The images are all stamped onto Shimmery White paper with StazOn Jet Black ink. Then, I punched them out and sponged the edges. I used an Aqua Painter and ink from the lid of the ink pad to color the cup and coffee pot. After I colored the pot and cup all over with Pool Party ink, I went back and gave it a "glaze" of Pear Pizzazz to make them two-toned and give them a bit more dimension. The shadow is painted on using Sahara Sand ink. The sunny yellow designer paper comes from the paper pack called Domestic Goddess.

Speaking of paper packs, today (August 31) is the LAST DAY to take advantage of the Buy Three Get One Free Designer Series Paper Special. Check out THIS LIN…

8/30 Stampin' Up! Growing Green Thanks

I made another card featuring the Growing Green stamp set along with Spice Cake designer series paper. One of the featured colors in this DSP is Very Vanilla which matches up wonderfully with a new ribbon debuting in the Holiday Mini catalog . . . Very Vanilla Velvet Stitched Ribbon! It's absolutely gorgeous . . . but rather plush which makes sense as it is velvet. I used SNAIL to attach it to my card and trimmed the edges even with the watercolor paper panel.

The image is stamped with StazOn Jet Black ink onto a panel of watercolor paper. I used ink off the lid of my Pear Pizzazz ink pad and an Aqua Painter to color the flowers. One of my favorite features of this card is the Little Leaves die cut image across the top of the Spice Cake DSP. I love the way it adds a bit of elegance to this card.

Well . . . off to do some final preparations for my Big Shot Class/Club which is today. A few of my customers have asked me why I don't always put pictures of the cards and projects …

8/29 Stampin' Up! Growing Green

OK . . . the girls are back in school!! The vacations are over. Time to buckle down and get to work. I am ready to stamp and create and share it all with you! I was so excited about getting back to work this morning that I couldn't even sleep and had to get up early to make this card. I've been playing around with a new designer paper debuting in the Holiday Mini Catalog called Spice Cake. This card uses just a skinny panel of it . . . leftovers from a demo swap I am in.

The main image on this card is from the stamp set called Growing Green . . . so pretty and easy to color with a bit of re-inker and my Aqua Painter. I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the words from the stamp set called Fabulous Phrases. I just love the font on that set . . . so elegant!

Here are the Stampin' Up! supplies I used to create this card:

Stamps: Growing Green (WM 118758 CM 120624), Fabulous Phrases (WM 117002 CM 120501)
Paper: Early Espresso (119686), Pool Party (122924), Naturals White (100730…

8/22 Cabin Stamping with Retired Sets

I wanted to share some of the cards I've been making at the cabin this summer. The cabin near Gorden, Wisconsin is where I keep some of my favorite retired stamp sets as well as all sorts of miscellaneous tools, papers and ribbons. Most of the cards that I make are from a file of "favorites" that I collected over the years. Another words . . . they are all pretty much cased!! When I go to the cabin . . . I'm in the "I don't want to think I just want to stamp mode." So thank you to all who inspired me as I relaxed and stamped just for fun at the cabin this summer!! I hope you enjoy this trip down the memory lane of retired SU sets.

8/17 Stampin' Up! Thoughts & Prayers

One of my very favorite Stampin' Up! stamp sets is called Thoughts and Prayers. I love the tree image in this set. Here is a card my customers recently had the opportunity to make at my July Card Buffet. The speckles are made with the Stampin' Up! Color Spritzer Tool. This tool mists from a marker to create the speckled look. It's great for adding a little "extra" to your cards and it helps tone down the white space.

Supplies to create this card:

Stamps: Thoughts & Prayers (WM 113252)
Paper: Soft Suede (115318), Certainly Celery (105125), Very Vanilla (101650)
Ink: Soft Suede (115657)
Tools: Color Spritzer Tool (107066), Eyelet Border Punch (119853)
Accessories: Concord Crush part of the 2010-12 In Color package (119801), Concord Crush Stitched Poly Ribbon (119266)
Adhesives: Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755), SNAIL to adhere the ribbon (104332)

8/16 Stampin' Up! Bring on the Cake, SD Stamping, and Family Pics

I had to share one of my very favorite swaps that I received at Convention. Usually when I am inspired by a card, I change up a few things as I make it to share with customers . . . but not this card. Every element is perfect!! Thank you, Cindy Stokes, for trading with me at Convention.

Last week, I journeyed to South Dakota to work with my long-distance demonstrators on my Stamping to Share team. We enjoyed stamping, laughing and hanging out. There was good food (naturally!!), Convention swaps to peruse, and Holiday Mini products from our demonstrator pre-orders to exclaim over. I was delighted to present prizes and recognition in person instead of via the mail. Congratulations to Angie Lunden for receiving year end recognition in sales and recruiting. This is a picture of Angie, myself and Angie's team. In the front: Noreen Engelstad and Candy Koepke. In back: Angie Lunden, Karen Lockner and myself.

You might have noticed that my blogging in the summer is somewhat sporadic! Sum…

8/15 Stampin' Up! Wicked Cool Boo Shoes

Boo Shoes!! Aren't they cute? I love the set called "Wicked Cool" for fall/Halloween greetings. This card was very quick to put together. The background is stamped randomly with the Dot, Dot, Dot background stamp. My only tip is it so stamp the shoes on a scrap of Whisper White first, the glue a strip of Pear Pizzazz under the shoes. THEN, use the 1 3/4" Circle Punch flipped upside down to punch out the image perfectly. The little "boo" comes from the Tiny Tags stamp set. The ribbon is adhered with SNAIL. The image is popped up on Stampin' Dimensionals. My customers made this at my Card Buffet last month and it was a big hit!

Stamps: Dot, Dot, Dot (WM 115332), Wicked Cool (WM 118738, CM 120600)
Paper: Rich Razzleberry (115316), Pear Pizzazz (119795), Basic Black (121045), Whisper White (100730), 2010-2011 12x12 In Color Patterns DSP (117158)
Ink: Basic Black (101179)
Tools: 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch (118874), 1 3/4" Circle Punch (119850)

8/11 Stamping to Share Demo Meeting Part Two

Here are the rest of the swaps that I have permission to share from my Stamping to Share Demo Meeting. I hope you enjoy!! Today, I will be in South Dakota working with my Stamping to Share group out there. We are planning a fun afternoon of M&T's, Sharing, Recognition, a little sprinkle of training and best of all . . . STAMPING!! I will be working on assembling a swap for my the Rising Star Yahoo Group. It's sooooo pretty . . . but I can't share it with you for a while. But not to worry . . . eventually you will get to see it!

Cindy's card uses the new Button Buddy stamp set . . . I love how the snail pairs with the Word Play sentiment!

Mary used her Decorative Label Punch to create a center shape in her card perfect for the image from the new stamp set called Lean On Me.

Sharon made a very cute baby card using her free Convention set called Easy Events. I love the ribbon layer!

Katherine is a mom that knows about boys! She used the new set called Dinoroar for her…

8/10 Stamping to Share August Demo Meeting!

Our August Creative Crafters Stamping to Share Demo Meeting was just a ball! We had Dawn Olchefske as our guest speaker!! That alone was quite exciting . . . but we also had swapping, a fabulous plant stake make and take, lots of recognition, and yummy snacks. Above is a picture of Dawn and myself just after I introduced her. Dawn shared her story about how she started in Stampin' Up! and her journey to this point. It was very inspiring. The tips I took away . . . ALWAYS have a GOAL . . . ALWAYS keep an active calender with a variety of events to fit the needs of your customers . . . and NEVER get away from holding home workshops. Dawn is only eight years a demonstrator, but she has earned six trips, she has been invited to Founder's Circle four times and she is beginning her year long commitment to the Stampin' Up! Advisory Board. She is my mentor and my friend. Thank you, Dawn, for sharing your story and your time with us!

We also shared Convention experiences at our me…

8/8 Convention Swap - Stampin' Up! Medallion with Movers and Shapers Dove

This was the card I made for general Convention trading. My customers also had the opportunity to make it at a recent card buffet that I held at my house. The bird comes from the  Movers and Shaper Holiday Windows set. But, I hardly ever use the dies for windows . . . I usually use the cut outs for layering and elements on my cards and scrapbook pages. You can watch the video below to see how I use the dies with and without the Curly Label die base.

Hope you enjoyed the video. Thanks so much for stopping by Stamping to Share!

8/4 Stampin' Up! Totally Tool 12x12

Here is the second set of scrapbooking pages my customers will make later this month. I have so many great pictures of our day care boys and one of their favorite things to do is to play with a kid's work bench. Little Carson . . . just over one year . . . walks around all day long with a blue plastic hammer in his hand! Such a boy!! When my daughter Karel was that age, she walked around with a kid's sized plastic purse. That stuff must just be programmed into them. She is 17 now and still gravitates to purses . . . and shoes . . . and dresses . . . and all things pretty.

I do not use wood mount stamps at all because I find the clear mount so much more flexible. The wood mount stamps that I did have before Stampin' Up! gave us a choice have all been unmounted. That is how I was able to create a collage of tool images. The sentiments have been trimmed away from the tools which makes putting all the tools onto one clear block a cinch. Then, I just stamped away to create th…

8/3 Stampin' Up! My Friend 12x12

I love the way these pages turned out! I don't think I've done a set of friendship pages since I started my scrapbooking classes a little over a year ago. I was inspired by the My Friend stamp set . . . it lends itself well to scrapbooking. Then, I wanted to use coordinating Designer Series Paper so the natural choice was Pocketful of Posies. Seeing the designer paper led me to picking out the colors I used on this page: Perfect Plum for the pages themselves, Elegant Eggplant, Crumb Cake and Whisper White. Of course, titles are always optional at my scrapbooking classes. Crumb Cake letters cut with the Big Shot Machine would also look nice across the title space.

Have a great day and thank you so much for stopping by Stamping to Share!
