9/30 Stampin' Up! Pines & Poinsettias

I've been having a little fun with a stamp set I recently received as a gift from Stampin' Up! It is called Pines & Poinsettias and you can find it in the Holiday Mini Catalog. As you can see, there is a coordinating Designer Series Paper that goes with it called Holly Berry Bouquet.

This is a "let go and explore" card. I wasn't making it for a workshop or for an upcoming class . . . I was making it just for me! Those are the kind of cards that reinforce your addition to Stampin' Up! They are therapeutic to create. Time seems to disappear . . . along with all of your problems. Your heart and your art merge into one creative force and when you are done, you are on top of the world! Oh, the pure joy of it all!!

ok . . . where was I? Oh, yes . . . about the card. I used several layers of card stock to create this beauty. I stamped the Woodgrain Background onto a panel of Very Vanilla card stock and then took a Crumb Cake ink pad and rubbed it over the top …

9/28 Stampin' Up! Warmest Wishes Noel

This is a card my clubs got to make last month and it was also one I sent into a swap that I recently participated in. I used the hostess set from the Holiday Mini catalog called Warmest of Wishes. This is one of those cards that really does look better in real life. IRL you can see the sparkle from the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint that was spritzed onto the card stock. And of course the Brushed Gold card stock that I used for the scallop circle background always looks better IRL. Oh well . . . maybe you will just have to make one for yourself to fully appreciate it!! lol!

This is a 4 1/4" square card. The shimmery Vanilla panel was run through the Big Shot Machine using the Snow Burst embossing folder with a gorgeous result! I used Brushed Gold card stock cut with the Petal Cone Die to create two half circle scallop pieces that were glued to the vanilla panel. The next step was to run a length of Cherry Cobbler Quilted Satin Ribbon down the center of the panel to hide the spots…

9/27 Stampin' Up! Creative Elements

This card reflects my need to get away from fall colors for just a bit . . . ! I love brights and Lucky Limeade was calling my name when I walked into my office. I paired it with a panel of Lucky Limeade Designer Series paper from the pack called Berry Blossom. I used the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch and Silver Glimmer paper to make some seriously sparkly borders. I needed a color that would really "pop" against the green and decided to go with one of my favorites, Pacific Point. I cut the flowers out and put them on Dimensionals. I stamped the word Create onto a piece of scrap, layered it over a strip of the punched ribbon border and secured the two together with Silver Glimmer Brads from the Basics Pack. That section is also adhered to the card with Dimensionals. Looking at this card makes me happy . . . hope it makes a bright spot in your day, too!

Thanks for stopping by Stamping to Share!! I'm off to continue the prep work on my Card Buffet coming up on Thursd…

9/26 Stampin' Up! Kraft Gift Boxes

This bare Kraft Gift Box from Stampin' Up!(package of four for $2.95) is brimming with possibilities when you pair it with some Frostwood Lodge Designer Series Paper and the new Winter Wishes Stitched Felt accent pieces. (All of these items can be found in the Holiday Mini Catalog.)

This is the top of the box. I attached the designer series paper, and put the stitched felt wreath on with Mini Glue Dots. It was simple enough to add a bow to the wreath created from our Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon . . . also attached with a Mini Glue Dot.

The only additional accenting I did was along the bottom of the box where I used SNAIL to attach a border of of Quilted Cherry Cobbler Satin Ribbon. All of my September Hostesses received this decorated gift box with a container of flower brads as a Thank You. Judging by the number of Kraft Boxes I sold this month . . . everyone really liked this idea!! It's also especially nice in that you can fold the decorated box flat and reuse it (r…

9/23 Demo Meeting Swap Cards Part Two

Here are the rest of the demo cards that were exchanged at our Anything Fall Demo Swap at the September Stamping to Share Downline Meeting. Dawn used her Big Shot Machine and the Leaves #2 Die to create this fun glittered vintage card.

Karen used a combination of punching and stamping to create this lovely fall friendship card.

Mary used her Big Shot Machine most creatively to make this lovely card. The leaf is cut from cork and colored by stamping and sponging ink onto it.

Here is an inside view of Mary's card.

Chris made a card that reminds us to visit our local pumpkin patch!

Candy created this card with makers and lots of patience! The tag is super cute . . . it has a heart on the other side.

Katherine made this card . . . isn't the fabric wrap a wonderful touch?

This is my card for the demo swap. It's a "flat" one . . . great for mailing!

9/22 Demo Meeting Swap Cards Part One

The theme for our Stamping to Share Demo Meeting Swap in September was "Anything Fall." I love these swaps . . . they are a fantastic way to collect a bunch of fabulous ideas for us and for our customers. This little treat holder made with the Two Tags Die is a case in point! My September Clubs all enjoyed making this sweet treat holder and in the process got to try out Dazzling Details and pick their own image from the Spooky Bingo Bits stamp set.

Tasha knew that you can't hand out a treat holder without a treat in it!! (Especially not to a group of fellow demos . . . haha!) Thanks, Tasha!

Judy made this beauty featuring Gently Falling. I love Calypso Coral in fall cards.

Angie made this beauty for us . . . taking her color cues from the awesome Spice Cake Designer Series paper.

Cindy made a gate-fold card for us. Super duper easy to do now that we have Simply Scored. I love that fall flower made with the Build a Blossom Punch and stamp set.

Cindy is tempting me with …

9/19 Stampin' Up! Morning Cup

Here is another favorite card that I cased with a few modifications from a card I received from Betty Saccocia at Convention. JUST sooooo cute!! It is a real popular choice at my Card Buffet. (Everyone knows someone addicted to coffee/caffeine!! lol!)

My new computer is still "in process" as far as getting it up and running. My old computer is in some kind of endless loop at the moment as I am trying to get over 44,000 pictures off of it and into a new photoshop program. C-R-A-Z-Y. It is totally driving me C-R-A-Z-Y!!  I am really feeling appreciation for my husband at the moment. He is so incredibly patient with all of this. I'm just sooooo the opposite! Unfortunately, he's at work at the moment so we will have to tackle it again this evening. Fortunately, I have a few "cases" I can share with you. All of my new creations are still in the camera and NOT on the computer.

9/19 Stampin' Up! Fall Build a Blossom

I received a card very similar to this from Jeannette Swain at Convention this past summer and I just LOVED it! So have my customers . . . it is one of the options that my customers have when they come to my Card Buffet that I am having at the end of the month. You can read more about it HERE.

My stampin' world is a little topsy turvy right now as my dear hubby and I work to get a new computer up and running. I haven't had a new computer since 2004! I've been using Photoshop Elements 3 for all of my SU pictures and I see now that the latest version is 9! So . . . even though I have been making some cards . . . I am waiting for my new photo editing software to arrive so that I can edit my pictures. I am also delayed in showing you the latest demo meeting cards that my fabulous downline created for our Anything for Fall swap. But . . . the wait will be worth it!! Have a happy day!

9/14 Stampin' Up! Big Shot Class Card

There is a wonderful swap at Convention called a "Wow Swap" and I've participated in it the last two years. It is an amazing source or inspiration for me when it comes to planning my clubs and classes. One of the cards that I received this year looked similar to what I created above for a recent Big Shot Class. Cara Brandse, a 2010 Rising Star, also participated in the Wow Swap and I loved her card!

I made my card into a Z-Fold card. This is what my customers got to make at a recent Big Shot Class and everyone just loved running the cork through the Big Shot machine to make centerpiece image. It was a great project for a Big Shot class as we used the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder brayered with Soft Suede ink to make the dramatic side panel. We used cork and several different dies on this card . . . including the Wonderful Wings Embosslit Die that embosses and cuts at the same time. I LOVE that!

This is an inside view. The sentiment comes from the stamp set called &…

9/13 Stampin' Up! Perfectly Penned Fall Birthday

One of the things I love about this card is that it showcases a new stamp set called "Perfectly Penned." I think the birthday greeting pictured in the card above is absolutely GORGEOUS! Just look at those swirls and curls . . . elegant yet still so easy to read.

The addicts out there (I'm referring to those of you who have your SU catalog memorized) may recognize this card . . . it's a modified case from page 114 of the 2011-12 Idea Book and Catalog. These are the types of cards my customers have come to enjoy making at my monthly Stamping to Share Card Buffet.

Maybe you need to replenish your stash? And, can you really have too many birthday cards? My Card Buffets offer a variety of cards for all occasions. I am planning my next Card Buffet for September 29 so if you are local and would like to come to it, please read the information about it and RSVP HERE. The information on the link refers to a 9:30am session, but I have another session that same day at 6:30pm.…

9/12 Stampin' Up! Gently Falling Birthday

Fall is my favorite season of the year - I love the change of seasons and Autumn in Minnesota is truly a beautiful time of year. One of my daughters has a fall birthday so I like to have her "rate" my fall birthday cards and she gave this one two thumbs up.

Here are the Stampin' Up! Supplies I used: (items in bold are found in the Holiday Mini catalog)

9/10 Stampin' Up! 12x12 Scrapbook Pages

This is the second set of pages my customers will get to do later this month at our Open Scrapbook Club. I think it will be perfect for some Sunny Summer Adventures . . . like time away at the lake or maybe some vacation pictures. I took my color cues from the Designer Series Paper and the Color Coach. I used the Big Shot to create my title using the Timeless Type Junior Alphabet.

The flowers accented with Jumbo Brads really make the pages "pop." The flowers were created with the die called Daisies #2. And, the sweet scalloped border was made with the Tasteful Trim Die. I think Tasteful Trim is my most used die. I use it for cards often, but I just LOVE it in my scrapbooks.

Stampin' Up! Supplies:

Paper: 12x12 Pacific Point (124285), 12x12 Wild Wasabi (124303), 12x12 Daffodil Delight (124275), Whisper White (100730), Beyond the Garden DSP (122342)

9/9 Stampin' Up! Spice Cake 12x12 Pages

I love the Spice Cake Designer Series Paper in the Holiday Mini Catalog. I was browsing a few scrapbooking pages at our Demo Only website and was inspired by a set of pages created by Cheryl Garratt so I definitely have to give her the credit for the inspiration! Thanks, Cheryl!

This will be the first set of pages my scrap bookers will make in September. I had an Open House yesterday and my customers were very excited about making them . . . and even a few new customers sound like they are going to give my scrapbooking classes a try!! Too much fun . . . really, can this actually BE my JOB?? Oh, I feel so lucky!!

Here is a close up of the Grateful which I made using the Big Shot Machine and the Timeless Type Junior Alphabet. That is SUCH a versatile size!

9/8 Stampin' Up! Hello Doily and National Grandparents Day

It was just two years ago that my grandma passed away. She grew up in the Doily Era . . . every couch and armchair had doilies draped over them, coffee tables, the buffet and even the dining room table also had their share of doilies. Obviously, I was thinking about her when I made this card . . . lol! She was 97 and only really started going downhill the last couple of months of her life. She had a fun personality and lots of things seemed to tickle her funny bone. I remember many times where she laughed so hard she cried!! Oh, and she put sugar and cream into more recipes that you would dream possible! Ate bacon and eggs like there was no tomorrow. (She actually fried vegetables in bacon grease because it made them taste better (that was her opinion anyway). And, she figured brandy cured just about everything!! This card is for you, my dear Grandma Millie.

I made the flower pot with the Ornament Punch. The bottom is cut flush with the card and the top has it's dip punched out w…

6/7 Stampin' Up! Gently Falling with Calypso

One of my favorite stamp sets in the Holiday Mini Catalog is called "Gently Falling." The more I've worked with it, the more I love it. This will be the card my Open House Attendees will get to make at my Open House tomorrow. Isn't it gorgeous? And, it's so FAST to make when you use the Clear Mount stamp set option. I put all the outline pieces onto one block, inked it all up in Early Espresso and stamped the outlines all in one awesome swoop! Then, say goodbye to your Stamp-a-ma-jig because you won't need it when you are over stamping the color with the bold stamps. Totally easy, and totally FUN!

My customers will be given two sentiment options. The one I used on this card is from the "It's a Wrap Holidays." I stamped the image onto a piece of scrap Whisper White and punched it out with the new 1" Square Punch. Then I trimmed it down to size with a scissors. The postage stamp border can be made in one of two ways. First you can just punch…

9/6 Stampin' Up! Word Play and Back to School

Today is the first official day of school for public schools in Minnesota. My girls actually started back last week and I was inspired to make a card to celebrate that day. I used a pack of designer series paper called Timeless Portrait as my starting point. To my surprise, I had a great sentiment that went with the whole theme of the card. My challenge was to figure out a way to incorporate it onto the front of the card without losing the theme . . . the words are big! I decided to bring out the Big Shot Machine and use the Top Note Die as the right size element for the sentiment. The Lace Ribbon Border Punch accents each side of the card and seems to work with the whole flow of this card.

Of course, I couldn't resist sharing a picture of my girls on their first day of school. Kari is a Junior, Kasey is a Freshmen and Karel is a Senior. Karel has a later start than the other two which is why she was barefoot; she was still getting ready! But, I wanted a picture of all three of …

9/2 Stampin' Up! Gently Falling

Emboss Resist is a cool technique that looks awesome with the bold images in Gently Falling. All I did was stamp the Maple leaf with VersaMark ink all over a panel of Whisper White. Then, after putting clear embossing powder over the stamped images and shaking the excess off, I heated it up with my heat tool until all the images turned glossy. Next, I inked up my brayer with Poppy Parade ink and covered the entire panel with the red ink. Use a tissue to buff off the ink on your glossy embossed images and the leaves will just pop! The sentiment on this card is from the stamp set called Upsy Daisy . . .  a perfect stamp set for the beginning stamper. It contains three great sayings, and a bold image that would also look great using this technique.

Last weekend when we were at the camper, the girls thought we should have a family photo. We needed an updated one for our home. Here we all are! There was another one that was also pretty cute involving collapsable chairs and the fire pit, …
