1/31 Stampin' Up! Punch Bunch is "Artsy"

I created this card for another swap that I was in this past January. I took Punch Bunch and instead of going for cute . . . I went for "artsy." I experimented with a different ribbon treatment, I did some ink pad dragging, crumpled and tore some paper, stamped a ghost image with Versa Mark and in general had a really good time! I don't know if a single person really "liked" the result, but sometimes it's just fun to play on the wild side! (ok, that's an exaggeration . . . it's really not that wild . . . but it is a little wild for "me!")

This is the inside of the card . . . looks kinda tame compared to the outside! lol!

Have a great day I hope you do some Stamping to Share today!!

1/30 Stampin' Up! Punch Bunch can be Elegant!

When you first glance at the Sale-a-bration Punch Bunch set and see the cute samples in your Sale-a-bration Brochure, you might think that cute is your only option with this set. But, as you can see from the card above, you can get "elegant", too! This card could work for so many different occasions . . . even sympathy! I'm sure you weren't thinking sympathy cards the first time you saw this stamp set! If you actually click on the card above, you can see a larger version and I want you to notice the detailing along the bottom of the green panel . . . it's a strip from the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder! I'll show you a couple more cards in the next couple of days that just use portions of the Framed Tulips panel on my cards.

Do you have an old Basic Black ink pad that has seen it's better day? Maybe you need a new one. My Basic Black pads get used and abused by myself and by my customers so I like to replace them at least once a year. However, DON'T…

1/29 Stampin'Up! Elements of Style 12x12 Pages

This is a sneak peek of what we will be creating at our February Open Scrapbook Club. I just love how the background turned out! I sponged Platinum Shimmer paint onto the large floral stamp in the Elements of Style set and stamped it randomly onto 12x12 inch sheets of Basic Black. It's just gorgeous IRL!! It wasn't messy at all and the paint is so quick drying that within a few minutes of stamping, I was already assembling my other elements onto the background!

Presto Patterns Specialty paper borders the top and bottom of these pages. I used a Rose Red ink pad directly on the paper and then sponged in any light areas. A quick buffing with a tissue and it was ready to go. The Tasteful Trim Die provided the Rose Red scallops and two sizes of black grosgrain ribbon completes the look.

The is the flower accent I created with the Blossom Party Die. I used card stock vellum for the bottom layer. The brad is one of those sparkling Glimmer brads that you can find in our Occasions M…

1/28 Stampin' Up! Punch Bunch

Before I talk about the card I made, I want to thank everyone who commented or e-mailed me about my last post. You have no idea how much you have encouraged me to keep going forward with the video tutorials. Can you believe that one of the things holding me back was that I could never get my fingernails to look right? I didn't make a tutorial for two months because I was so embarrassed by them! And, then I worried about not knowing how to edit my videos . . . so when I make a video, what you get is what you get! I don't know how to make it better! (My kids keep promising to help me on this . . . promises, promises!) So again, I just want to say Thank YOU and there will be more to come.

Now, on to the card!! This is the card my customers made at my Sale-a-bration and Occasions Mini Open House. I love that we have a stamp set now that coordinates with the owl punch and it's just a bonus that you get that stamp set FREE when you purchase $50 in Stampin' Up! merchandise! T…

1/27 Fold Out Windows with the Stampin'Up! Curly Label Die

Earlier this month I posted pictures of a couple of cards that I made using the Curly Label Die . . . they had fold out windows. You can see the orginal post HERE. Since then, I've had quite a few e-mails asking me if I would share exactly how I did this . . . your wish is my command! I created a video so that you can make master this technique, too!

Obviously, I still have a lot to learn about making videos, so I hope you were able to bear with me. I kept referring to the cutting plates as "dies." Sorry about that. Hopefully the more I do this, the better I will get . . . it is only my fourth video!!

Have a great day and thank you for stopping by Stamping to Share!!

1/26 Stampin' Up! Beveled Windowpane Embellishments

One of the new and exciting products in our Occasions Mini catalog is an embellishment called Beveled Windowpanes. Of course, the picture in the catalog and even above, hardly does them justice. These acrylic frames are crystal clear and truly beautiful. They create a stunning focal point on your card and now I understand why the coordinating stamp set is called "Clearly for You."

This card uses the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder. I sponged the edges and then lightly sponged over the rest of the inner panel with Sahara Sand accentuating the textured paper. The butterflies used on this card are from the Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die. I love the little strip of pearls on the butterfly.

To color the stork image, I used the fine tip ends of my markers. The blue portion was colored with a blender pen dipped into a bit of ink from the lid of my Marina Mist ink pad.

The inside panel of the card is very simple . . . just a couple of sweet butterflies adhered with mini glue dots.

1/25 Birthday Cards All for Me!

I celebrated a birthday this month and thought you might like to see some of the beautiful cards that I received. Enjoy!!

Thank you ladies, for giving me such a fabulous card celebration!! Love each and every one!! Hugs to you from me!

1/24 Stampin' Up Fifth Avenue Floral

Here is a card that I made this past weekend using one of my all time favorite sets . . . Fifth Avenue Floral. It is a set that can be used for nearly every occasion imaginable . . . in this case, sympathy. I started with a base of Natural White card stock. This card stock is great when you want a sturdy card base as it is a heavier weight than our Whisper White. The mat borders in this card are made from Soft Suede card stock. The bottom of the image mat uses a portion of the Ribbon Punch for an elegant accent. If you click directly onto the picture, you computer should bring up a close up picture and you will be able to see that bottom border a little better.

The designer series paper is from a pack called Elegant SoirĂ©e. The only ink on this card is Soft Suede. I used it to stamp the image and then used it again to watercolor the lily. The sentiments are from the Thoughts and Prayers stamp set.

The inside of the card has the first flower that I stamped on scratch and then "pra…

1/23 Stampin' Up! Wellness Wishes

These are the three card designs that some of my customers made recently to donate to a charity in our area that sends cards to shut-ins, people who are ill, and people who have lost a loved one. There's nothing like a card in the mailbox or hand-delivered to make your day a bit brighter. Since I became a demonstrator, my customers have made and donated nearly 600 cards to this local effort.

I also accept food donations for our local food shelf and to date, my customers have brought in over 500 pounds of food! Each time a customer comes with a donation, I gift them with one or two of my swap cards that I've made into full cards. It's a win-win for everyone . . . including our community!

We are Stamping to Share and Making a Difference!!

1/22 Stampin' Up Petal Cone Valentine Favor

At my Big Shot Class coming up this coming Tuesday, my customers will be making this Petal Cone Valentine Door Hanger. One of the mom's in my group is already planning to mail hers off to her daughter as it will put a little Valentine Cheer in her college dorm room. With a few shredds and some Dove Chocolates you have the perfect gift to sweeten up someone's Valentine's Day.

This Petal Cone die is so versatile. The top can be left open as it is here or it can be closed up. You can also use just the heart portion of the die for a scrapbook page as I did HERE. I used the Lots of Tags Sizzlits Die to cut four tags from Melon Mambo card stock. I put "xo" on  two side with the Naturally Serif Decorative Strip Die and on the other two sides used a stamp from the Curvy Verses set. I stamped it with Melon Mambo ink onto Pretty in Pink card stock and punched it out with the 2" x 1 3/8" Oval Punch which layers into the tag die cut beautifully. An image from Elem…

1/21 Stampin' Up Create a Cupcake with Sparkle!

Isn't this card FUN? I just love it . . . I think it has a bit of a retro look, don't you? I've got Cupcake Love going on at my house. The new Build a Cupcake Punch and the Create a Cupcake stamp set seem to be on my workspace 24/7. How can you put something away when it is that cute?!! I recently held a scrapbook workshop at my home and had a few extra strips of Tasteful Trim sitting around. I started playing with it and before you know it I had the cutest card! I used circles from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack to make the little red balls for a fun and whimsical accent along the top of the card.

The fluffy part of the cupcake is super sparkly. I used a layer of Versa Mark on Whisper White paper, sprinkled on some Heat and Stick powder, used a heat tool to make it glossy and then sprinkled on some Dazzling Diamond Glitter, heated it again to set it and used the Build a Cupcake Punch to make the fluffy topping. The little tray that the cupcake is resting on is made from the …

1/20 Stampin' Up! Nature Walk

I knew I would love the set Nature Walk that just debuted in the Stampin'Up! Occasions Mini catalog. I'm kind of a nature girl anyway and this set has beautiful images that appeal to men and women alike. This card starts with a base of Early Espresso and has layers of Textured Rich Razzleberry and distressed paper from the First Edition Specialty DSP pack. I just can't get over what a good deal this paper pack is . . . 24 12x12 sheets of vintage like reference papers printed on both sides. You get four each of six designs!! And the price? $11.95!! Now THAT is a deal!!

The inside of my card continues the theme! I used only two colors of ink on this card . . . Rich Razzleberry and Sahara Sand. Just keeping it simple!

Stampin' Up! Supplies:

Stamps: Nature Walk (Wood Mount 121925, Clear Mount 121997)
Paper: Early Espresso (119686), Textured Rich Razzleberry (119942), Sahara Sand (121043), Very Vanilla (101650), First Edition Specialty DSP (121878)

1/18 Stampin' Up! Simple Birthday Thanks 12x12

The Love Impressions paper in the Occasions Mini Catalog is so gorgeous. I wanted to use the pink All You Need is Love pages in some kind of scrapbook layout and then it hit me . . . All You Need is Love and a Cupcake! Isn't it cute???

I used the Simple Birthday Thanks stamp and stamped my cupcake parts onto designer series paper. When I mounted the stamp, I cut the words away from the inside of the cupcake so I could use it with or without the words. Obviously, no words here! I did the same with the dots up top. I stamped the bottom portion of the cupcake onto a striped sheet a paper from the Love Impressions pack and the top portion of the cupcake is stamped onto the Subtles Patterns DSP . . . Pink Pirouette. When I assembled the cupcake, I put the topping a little further down than what the image stamps out as because I wanted my cupcake to be a little shorter. I used dimensionals on the frosting to give it some height. I like the pops of red on these pages, too. The xoxo use…

1/16 Stampin' Up! Take a Spin

This is one of the cards that my customers will be making at our Birthday Bonanza Classes! In the new Occasions Mini Catalog, Stampin' Up! introduced some very cool embellishments, one of which is this game spinner. For the very reasonable price of just $3.95, you get 12 game spinners along with a washer and brad for each that you can use to decorate up the stamp set called Take a Spin. It's such a cute look! The sentiment on this card is from the stamp set called Bring on the Cake . . . also in the Occasions Mini.

Stampin' Up! Supplies:

Stamps: Take a Spin (Wood Mount 121937, Clear Mount 122015), Bring on the Cake (Wood Mount 121899, Clear Mount 121958)

1/15 Stampin' Up! Build a Blossom

On page 12 of the Occasions Mini Catalog, there is a stamp set called Build a Blossom. It's actually quite a nice set in that all of the petals of the flowers and leaves are "punchable" with the coordinating Blossom Petals Punch. I wasn't really sure where I should start, so I went to the SU demonstrator website, found a very helpful video, opened the mini to the card that caught my eye and pretty much copied it. . . with just slight changes. It was fun to do, not as hard as I thought it would be and I decided that I like punching petals a lot better than cutting them out by hand! To give the petals a little bit of "lift", I rolled them over a pencil to put a curve in them before adhering them to the card.

Stampin' Up! Supplies:

Stamps: Build a Blossom (Wood Mount 121923, Clear Mount 121994), Tiny Tags (Wood Mount 118091, Clear Mount 118592)
Paper: Baja Breeze (111352), Basic Black (121045), Pink Pirouette (111351), Wild Wasabi (108641), Very Vanilla for…

1/14 Stampin' Up! Valentine Defined

This card has a trio of punched hearts that are embossed and perfectly pressed . . . it looks so neat! I hope this photo does the technique justice. IRL, it looks like the punches are actually just part of the paper. I taught my club members how to do that this month and everyone was so impressed by this simple technique. All you do is adhere punches or die cuts to your card panel. I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue for this step. Then, just take it to your Big Shot Machine and run it through using a tightly embossed image such as Stampin' Up's Square Lattice Embossing Folder. To complete the look, I added a glittered heart with the new Red Glimmer paper that you can find on page 7 of our Occasions Mini Catalog. This stuff is da bomb!! We must start a campaign right now begging SU to keep this in our product line - and add at least a 1/2 dozen more colors to the line up. I just LOVE how you can add a bit of bling without the mess that usually goes with it! (Of course, I don't…

1/13 Stampin' Up! Sweetheart 3x3 Valentine Favor

Aren't these Valentine Favors just the sweetest?  It's a little 3x3 inch card stamped with the Be Mine word heart from the Stampin' Up! Sweetheart stamp set. I'm rather challenged when it comes to making candy access doors, but I took the time to really study how I should do this by visiting various websites. I finally decided that I wouldn't die trying! lol! It really wasn't so hard after all. This was the make and take I provided for my downline at our monthly Stamping to Share meeting. I've also used it in all of my clubs this month.

Here is a picture of the inside of one of the cards. My customers had a choice of using a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes or the Hugs & Kisses from All Holidays. Notice the 3/4" door to access the candy? Pretty handy!

Above is the pull-out tab to get at the candy. I thought the heart handle was a nice touch on this Valentine Favor. The key to making the candy door access "work" is to only adhere three si…

1/12 Stampin' Up! Big Shot Cards

At every demo meeting, I like to highlight one of the demonstrators in my Stamping to Share group by having her take on one of our Make & Take Projects. Cindy, one of my newest downline, offered to show us how to use the Big Shot machine to partially cut through a z-fold making a kind of pop over window. I'd seen cards like that before, but hadn't a clue how they were made! Cindy did a fantastic job showing us all the how to's and then helped each of us make the cards pictured above. I took careful notes because I knew I wanted to teach this technique at my Big Shot Class later this month.

The card you see above is what my customers will make at my Big Shot Basics and Beyond Class coming up on January 25. I used Oval All and On Your Birthday stamp sets. The Designer Series Paper is out of our Occasions Mini 2011 Catalog and it is called Springtime Vintage. If you would like more information about joining me at my Big Shot Class . . . just click HERE and then e-mail me

1/11 Stampin' Up! Color Spritzer Tool & Easter Blossom Card

I started selling Stampin' Up! in July of 2007 and as a "newbie," I did pretty well! (Thank YOU, Stampin' Up hostesses and customers!) In July of 2009, I found out that I qualified for the Rising Star Award and earned a trip to Founder's Circle. You can see just how fun this was for me by clicking HERE. Anyway, one of the ongoing perks of being a Rising Star is that you get to be in a Rising Star Yahoo Group and every time we get a new mini or biggie catalog, we have a swap. The card above is what I created for the Occasions Mini 2011 Rising Star Swap. I have all of the Rising Star Swaps on a display board and they are just beautiful! My customers have been picking different ones out asking me when I'll be making this one or that one! I just love all those great idea at my fingertips . . . a big Thank YOU to the Rising Stars!!

I used the new Stampin' Up! Easter Blossoms Stamp set to create this card. My customers will be making this card at my Christian …

1/10 Stamping to Share Team Swap Part II

Here are the rest of the card that were swapped at our Demonstrator meeting. The last picture is of me in the middle of my demonstration of how to create a Sweet Valentine Treat Cup. I'll be sharing that project on my blog soon. Enjoy!
