1/4 Stampin' Up! You're My Type Birthday

I am going to spend the weekend getting ready for my Card Buffet that I am having at the end of the month. Our theme is birthday and it seemed like a great opportunity to make a manly type birthday card with a brand new stamp set called "You're My Type." This card is super quick and easy to put together. I wasn't able to capture all of the details, however, with my camera . . . the black panel behind the tag is embossed with the Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder. Again . . . one of those cards that looks better IRL!

There's only one little trick you need to know about making this card. The two tags die cut that I used for the main image panel has a score line so when you stamp the typewriter over the top of the tag, you will see a very thin score line. All you have to do is use the fine tip end of our Black Journaling pen to darken this line up and then you don't notice it at all. To define the tag a bit more, I again used the fine tip end of the journaling pen to add a light edge all around the outside of the tag.

I also wanted to share with you today an invitation I received in the mail from Stampin' Up! When I first opened up the package, I found this. I had no idea what it was. Then I slid the wrapping off and found a fan!!

I am going to Stampin' Up's Leadership event in San Antonio and qualified to attend the Manager's Reception where we will be treated to a show featuring the Chinese Acrobats of Hebei.

The fan is our ticket to the theatre. I thought it was really neat the one side of the fan featured the event we were invited to and on the reverse side we had all the place and time details. I just love how Stampin' Up! thinks outside the box to delight us in ways we never imagined. I feel blessed to be a part of this company that has enriched my life in so many ways.

Have a great weekend and thanks so much for stopping by Stamping to Share!

I love the typewriter. So retro cool! But, the fan is really cool. How fun is that for an invite. It reminds me of when Debby and I made 100 fans for my daughters wedding that we passed out in church. 98 degrees that day, glad we made them :)
