10/11 Stampin' Up! Delicate Doilies How To Video with Vellum Shims and an Autumn Card

I decided to create a video to show you how to use shims with your Stampin' Up! Delicate Doilies die. Ever since I posted this Christmas Ornament HERE, I've been getting questions about using the Delicate Doilies Die and especially about my preference for using card stock vellum shims. So, here it is . . . a video that gives you all the shim shine on using this die.

Then, since I had a whole pile of Delicate Doilies just sitting around on my work station, I decided to make a really quick Autumn card to show off one of the doilies. I also wanted to use the 3 1/2" Scalloped Tulle Ribbon found on page 4 of the Holiday Mini. Isn't it pretty? I especially love how it looks over the textured background.

Here's another view of the elements I used on this card. I love the pop of red behind the "A" and the button with the linen thread. Fun little details that just "make it" if you know what I mean!

I have not been pleased with this die. I tried it with a cardstock shim, but it was so hard to get thru my machine that I was afraid that I would strip out the gears/or tear up the bearings in my big shot. So, the die is just sitting in my storage box. Maybe I will try it once more with vellum. Will SU replace a broken Big Shot if the die causes something like this to happen since you are following instructions for using shims?

Thanks Kay! I LOVE this die, but never use it because I can never get it to cut properly. I'm running to my stamp room now to give this a try, thanks for sharing!!!
