5/30 Stampin' Up! Just a Note Mini - fresh out of the box!!

In addition to Stampin' Up!, I have another home business with clients that come and go. Of course, they can't help but notice all the Stampin' Up! cards and scrapbook pages and stamps, tools and accessories that I have all over my office space. Some of them are big fans of my "Cards for Sale" box and often drop by to shop for upcoming occasions. One of these clients recently went to a garage sale and found a new in the box stamp set called "Just a Note Mini" from 1997! It was so fun and retro and so nice of her to think of me! Thank you, Rita!!

This is the card that I made for her to thank her for thinking of me. Of course, it's made with one of the images in the stamp set. And, it also uses a die shape that is long retired. The designer series paper, called Paisley Petals, will also soon be retired. It's a transitional time of year. Moving from old into new.

Have a wonderful day and thanks so much for stopping by Stamping to Share!

5/29 RAK Inspired Memorial Day Card

The poppy card that I put on my blog yesterday in honor of Memorial Day was inspired by this RAK that I got from my newest downline member, Elizabeth Schwerm. I love going to my mailbox and getting a card from one of my team members . . . a true treat! Thank you, Elizabeth!! She told me that she cased Connie Collins to create this beauty. The sentiment comes from the soon to be retired set called, "You're a Gem." I really like the sayings in this set and with all the gems in the center of this flower - it's quite the perfect stamp to use!

Here is a closeup of the flower center . . . many little rhinestones! So very sweet . . . and don't you love the sparkles? It's shimmer paint mixed with rubbing alcohol and spritzed onto your card stock.

Stamps: You're a Gem retiring May 31 (WM 122268, CM 122270)
Paper: Pacific Point (111350), Real Red (102482), Brights Patterned Paper Stack (117155)
Ink: VersaMark (102283)

5/28 Memorial Day Blessings to our Service Men and Women!

In Flanders Fields
By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918)
Canadian Army
In Flanders Fields the poppies blow Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
Tomorrow I will share the card that inspired me to create this card for Memorial Day.

5/27 May Demo Meeting Projects

I can't believe I forgot to post these projects on my blog!! We had an amazing demo meeting in May and of course the thing that makes it amazing are the people! Irene Boesen shared how she makes Fabric YoYo's with this delightful card. She prepped cards for all of us to create, too . . . even pre-threading our needles!! The sentiment she used on her demo project card come from the stamp set called Full of Life. It is soon to be retired so if it's one you've had on your wish list . . . you only have until May 31 to get it!

Linda Watson created this quilted beauty with the Big Shot Machine and shared it with all of us. Like Irene, she was so organized! All of our pieces were were cut and ready to go. All we had to do was assemble, run the quilted piece through the Big Shot machine and ta-da . . . home we went with this to die for quilted card.

Thank you so much to both Irene and Linda for sharing their talents with us at our Monthly Stamping to Share Meetings. Have a g…

5/26 Stampin' Up! Daring Adventure

I received a swap card from Lyssa Zwolanek at Milwaukee Regionals and I recreated it to put on my Card Buffet this past week. It was hugely popular!! Thanks, Lyssa!

The designer series paper on this card is from the soon to be retired pack called Well Worn. It's a GREAT paper set with lots of options for "manly" cards and scrapbook pages. All of the edges are sponged with Soft Suede and the text is lightly sponged right over the top of it, too.

Stamping to Share Tip of the Day: When you are tearing DSP, did you know that if tear the paper "up," you will expose the white core of the paper. If you tear the paper "down," the white core will be on the bottom and you won't see it on your top piece. I try to keep that in mind when I am tearing DSP and want a certain look for it as I did on this card where I did not want the white core of the paper exposed.

Have a great day and thank you so much for stopping by my Stamping to Share blog!

5/24 Stampin' Up! Dino-Roar!

This stamp set called, "Dino-Roar" makes a great gift for the dino crazy kids in your life . . . and it's even fun for you!! I love letting the kid in me play with a set like this . . . ROAR!!

The inside of this card has a cute sentiment, too. I haven't used Certainly Celery very much lately . . . seemed like the perfect color for this dinosaur card.

Stamping to Share Tip of the Day: This card is GREAT for "mom and me" workshops. There are four dinosaurs to pick from so everybody can customize their cards with their favorite dinosaurs

Thank you so much for stopping by . . . have a happy Stamping to Share day!

5/23 Stampin' Up! Need for Speed

Nikki Rueth exchanged a card with  me Milwaukee Regionals that inspired me to create my own version . . . this card features the stamp set called "Need for Speed." It also features a retiring set that I would highly recommend if you don't already have it called, "Extreme Elements," and it's where the splash and stars come from. Minnesota is the land of 10,000 lakes so this boat and splash card seemed appropriate for my upcoming card buffet! Plus . . . it's a "guy card" and we always need more of those, right?

Stamping to Share Tip of the Day: Turn your Scallop Dots Ribbon upside down to eliminate the dots as I did on this card. It gives you a completely different look and it makes your dotted scallop ribbon even more versatile.

Thank you so much for stopping by . . . have a great day and I hope you are checking that retirement list twice!

5/22 Stampin' Up! Nature Silhouettes

I met SU demonstrator Michelle Waletzko at Regionals in Milwaukee, WI at a Shoebox Swap. She had a great manly card that night and I used it for inspiration to create this card for the manly card buffet that I am having this week. I love the the Labels Framelits when used with this stamp seem like a wall mount for that trophy buck! I'll be sending this card out to several hunters in my family for their birthdays.

Stamping to Share Tip of the Week: Notice the dark, even coverage of ink that was used on the deer? There's a new stamp pad that SU is introducing on June 1 and it's AMAZING!! Well, I guess that's all I can tell you until June 1!! lol! Stay tuned!

Stamps: Nature Silhouettes retiring May 31 (111542), On Your Birthday (111664)
Paper: Always Artichoke (105119), River Rock (108640), Early Espresso (119686)
Ink: new ink pad in Early Espresso available June 1

5/21 Stampin' Up! Countryside

This card will be featured on my May and June Card Buffets. I love the manly look it has . . . our Houndstooth embossing folder is great for that. The stamp set I used for the main image is called Countryside. The sentiment is from a soon to be retired set called "With All My Heart."

Stamping to Share Tip of the Day: You can create corner accents for your card panels by cutting a square of paper and then cutting it in half diagonally. The triangle that I used to accent my image panel above was created with a 2" square.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!!

Stamps: Countryside (WM 116998, CM 120495), With All My Heart retiring May 31 (WM 118134, CM 118623)
Paper: Riding Hood Red (111348), Very Vanilla (101650)
Ink: Riding Hood Red (111348), Soft Suede (115657)

5/20 Stampin' Up! Best Dad Ever

This card will be on my card buffet this week. I love that it can be customized with whatever sayings you want. The stamp set called "Best Dad Ever" has four sentiments: Happy Father's Day, Happy Birthday, Thinking of You and Best Dad Ever. I am going to keep it on my card buffet for two months because it doesn't have to be locked into Father's Day. It can also be a great Birthday Card, Thinking of You card or skip the sentiments altogether and create a manly all occasion card.

I was inspired to make this card after I saw a similar card by Disneywed at Splitcoast. I really like the shades of green on this card. Most of the MN men that I know like the color green. This card uses Always Artichoke, Certainly Celery and Pear Pizzazz.

I stamped the inside panel with a Father's Day sentiment and put just the tips of the ties into the top and bottom of the panel . . . love how it turned out!

Stamping to Share Tip of the Day: Stamping just a bit on the inside panel …

5/19 Stamping to Share Demo Mtg Swap Part Two - For the Boys

This is part two of the Stamping to Share Demo Meeting Swap with a theme of "For the Boys." I feel lucky and blessed to be surrounded by all the positive people in my downline and I am so happy I can share their creativity with all of you!

Rachel Peulen designed a Tool Box card. She used a retired stamp from Loved Ones on the front.

When you open the card up . . . you find a collection of tools from the soon to be retired stamp set called "Totally Tool." I love the added touch on the lid of tool box where she stamped the Totally Tool sentiment, "Love without Measure." Just an all-around awesome card for Dad, our favorite handyman!

Gayle Monson used the soon to be retired set called, "Inspired by Nature" to make the grass in this retirement card. The sentiment is from "Teeny Tiny Wishes." The star, which is cut and layered with our Labels Framelit collection, is from the retired Sale-a-bration set called, "Sprinkled Expressions.&q…

5/18 Stamping to Share Demo Mtg Swap Part One - For the Boys!

One of the things I love about our Stamping to Share Monthly Meetings is that we do a swap. The theme for our May Swap was "For the Boys." I already showed you my boy graduation card HERE and today and tomorrow I will show you the rest of the swap "for the boys."

One thing about boys . . . they always seem to have a "Need for Speed" and Cindy Standal captured that perfectly with her card . . . nothing faster than a jet! I really like the layout of this card. In fact, this card put me over the edge and I decided I "needed" this set! It went on my last order!!

Cindy LeMire knows that boys like to fish and we just had the opener in MN this past weekend. I like the many creative aspects in this card . . . every time I look at it I find something new about it! She used "Teeny Tiny Wishes" and soon to be retired "Extreme Elements."

Chris Glebus made a clean and simple Father's Day card featuring one of the Summer Mini Carryov…

5/17 Stampin' Up! Beary Best Makes a Cake!

This card has a mix of retiring items and brand new catalog images. I love the new catalog set called "Make a Cake." I decided to get my bears out (the entire Build a Bear line and coordinating stamp images are retiring) and make a birthday card. I used this same image from Make a Cake in another birthday card that you can see HERE

My bear from Beary Best Friends is stamped onto Watercolor Paper with the "new" Basic Black Classic ink. After heat setting it, I colored it with my AquaPainter and Watercolor Crayons. The cake was also stamped on watercolor paper, heat set and watercolored with the crayons. The sentiment is from Beary Nice Wishes

The inside panel of the card is "beary basic" but it gets the message across!

Stamping to Share Tip of the Day: When you have a card with a simple design such as I have here, you can add a little bit of pop by using your Simply Scored Tool and created an embossed line 1/4" around the entire top panel. The Big…

5/16 Keep Calm and Carry On . . . the History in Video

I found out about a video that I wanted to share with you . . . the history of the words in one of our new hostess sets in the 2012-2013 Stampin' Up Catalog called "Carry On."

The words are "Keep Calm and Carry On" and I am so thrilled to share this with you because the bookstore where this poster was rediscovered is located in Alnwich, Northumbria, England where I went to college for a year and where my daughter, Karel, will be attending college in less than a year.

I know this is kind of silly, but the video actually brought tears to my eyes. Almost any images that I see from WWII do that to me. Plus I got all homesick for Alnwick.

Enjoy. Keep Calm and Carry On.

Have a wonderful day and thank you so much for stopping by Stamping to Share!

5/15 Stampin' Up! Decorated Kraft Boxes

I have a love affair going on with Kraft Boxes from Stampin' Up! They are so much fun to decorate and my hostesses seem to love them. Here are the last three that I gave out to May Hostesses. The one above uses the stamp set Creative Elements and soon to be retired Pear Pizzazz Ribbon.

This one uses the stamp set Friends Never Fade along with soon to be retired Black Satin Ribbon and Brights Flower Brads.

The this final gift box uses the stamp set called Fabulous Florets on soon to be retired Peach Parfait paper and again uses the Black Satin Ribbon.

Stamping to Share Tip of the Day: Do you ever have scraps that are beautifully stamped, but never "made the cut" to the final card or project you were working on? I keep these nicely stamped images in a scrap box and they come in so handy when I need to decorate a Kraft Box. I might add a brad or button and ribbon to jazz it up and before you know it, you have a beautifully decorated Kraft Box to give as a gift.

The Retire…

5/14 Stampin' Up! Upsy Daisy

Upsy Daisy is one of my favorite stamp sets because it is so simple to use . . . PERFECT for new stampers! But, it's been around awhile and on May 31, it is being retired. This card was inspired by a swap card I received from Rachel Durtschi. I dragged the Soft Suede ink pad over the card several times to add a wood-like look to the card base. This is the card my customers are making this month to donate to our local befrienders group. Even though the stamp set comes with three nice sentiments, our befriender's group really needed some Get Well cards so I picked this Get Well sentiment from the set called Delightful Dozen that I recently received for FREE in recognition of my Sale-a-bration Sales. I love stampin' rewards like that!

Stamping to Share Tip of the Day: Use a ribbon knot attached with a glue dot on top of a strip of coordinating card stock. It gives the illusion that the ribbon goes all the way across the card!

Have a lovely day and thank you so much for stoppin…

5/13 Stampin' Up! Tote-ally Tess Birthday Card

My husband was born on May 13 and every once in a while when all the dates align just right, he celebrates his birthday on Mother's Day. I made this card especially for him with the set called Tote-ally Tess (retiring on May 31) and a couple of new sets that will be debuting on June 1 . . . Itty Bitty Banners and Make a Cake. I love this time of year when you can combine Sneak Peek sets with Retiring sets. It helps me decide what I am going to keep and what I won't. Tote-ally Tess is a "keeper!"

Isn't the little heart great? That is from the Make a Cake set. There are all kinds of cute cake toppers in this set from butterflies and whirly-wigs to sweet banners, pictured above and below. The designer series paper is also a sneak peek called Floral District.

This is the inside of the card. I used another Itty Bitty Banner and topped it with one of the Make a Cake banners.

Stamping to Share Tip of the Day: The "table" that you see in the foreground of the car…

5/11 Stampin' Up! All Five NEW In Colors on One Card!

If you are a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, you get the opportunity to order products in advance of their release to the public. It's a great perk and so much fun to see new stuff in advance. This card uses a wonderful mix of old and new. I have always enjoyed the stamp set called Sweetheart that is now on the retirement list and thought I would get it out to remind you how much fun this set can be . . . and even more fun when you put it with something new . . . such as ALL FIVE new 2012-2014 In Colors!

Gumball Green, Midnight Muse, Summer Starfruit, Primrose Petals and Raspberry Ripple make their debut! So very pretty - together, separately and paired up with our regular line colors. The bow is made with gorgeous stitched satin ribbon that I received as a gift from Stampin' Up! while I was at Disney last week. I LOVE it . . . it is so soft and so easy to work with. This is going to be one of my "go-to" ribbons for sure!

Here is an inside view of the card . . . just …
