8/29 Stampin' Up! Ornament Keepsakes . . . cards and decoration possibilities!

Image
I used "Regal" colors to stamp the ornaments on this card . . . Bravo Burgundy, Always Artichoke and Elegant Eggplant. Then, I cut them out with the coordinating framelit set called Holiday Ornaments and they came out so beautifully, there really wasn't much else I need to do to create this card! The sentiment set is also from the Holiday Mini from the stamp set called Greetings of the Season. This will be one of the cards that my customers will get to make at my August and September card buffets. Oh, and I almost forgot . . . the Early Espresso textured panel also features a new embossing folder from the Holiday Mini called Lacy Brocade.

And here is a decoration that uses the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set. I was inspired by the picture on page 3 of the Holiday Mini catalog but instead of going with white card stock, I decided to go with vanilla card stock for a more vintage like feel. My lucky customers got to make this at my Big Shot Class yesterday!!

8/28 Stampin' Up! Perfectly Preserved with a Quick Masking Technique Video

Image
I have another Perfectly Preserved card to show off today! I love the way this turned out. The angled paper in the background is from the Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper Pack. The ribbon slide is an accessory that I missed seeing the first few times through the Holiday Mini catalog. It's on page 31 if you are looking for them!

To give the flowers extra depth and puffiness, I stamped the image with Daffodil Delight ink a couple of times for each bloom before overstamping it with Pumpkin Pie ink. I put water in the jar masking it and using a sponge with Tempting Turquoise ink. I made a short little how to video to show you how I did it.

Hope you enjoy the video! Thank you so much for stopping by and supporting my business at Stamping to Share!

Stamps: Perfectly Preserved (WM 126690, CM 126692)

8/27 Stampin' Up! Perfectly Preserved Tag and Ribbon Jar

Image
One of the fun projects that I did recently started with a trip to Fleet Farm where I picked up a huge jar in the shape of a canning jar . . . complete with "Ball" on the side. Since I've been on the lookout for a cute jar to hold my ribbon scraps . . . it caught my eye and purchased it for around $10. Next I needed a tag . . . and I didn't have to look farther than my newest favorite SU set called Perfectly Preserved. This is the tag I made that I attached directly to the tag the came with the jar.

This is a picture of the tag that came with the jar. My completed tag is to the front and this is what it looked like before I adhered the More Mustard panel to the back of the tag.

Here is a picture of the jar itself. When I was a new demonstrator in 2007, one of my customers had a pile of ribbon clippings next to her and she thought they were too pretty to throw away and asked if I had a jar to put them it. That is what started it all . . . eventually, I filled up four…

8/24 Stampin' Up! Perfectly Preserved

Image
I really like this Perfectly Preserved stamp set in the Holiday Mini. It brings to mind fall and harvest festivals and the Minnesota State Fair, which by the way, started yesterday. My dad is still actively showing his produce and flower gardening efforts at the Brown County Fair which was earlier this month. The paper that coordinates with this set, called Orchard Harvest has a multitude of fall colors to work with such as Cajun Craze, Early Espresso, Island Indigo, More Mustard, Lucky Limeade and Raspberry Ripple all against a soft backdrop of Very Vanilla. The sentiment on the card is from the stamp set Loving Thoughts.

Have a wonderful day and thank you so much for stopping by and supporting my business at Stamping to Share!

8/23 Stampin' Up! Happy Hour

Image
One of the coolest swaps that I got at Convention this past year was a CUTE Appletini Party Favor using the Happy Hour stamp set from my GoDiva friend Tiffany Bauer. I cased her idea with a couple of modifications (but really couldn't change much because hers was so perfect!). I changed the way I did the Martini . . . I wanted my customers to make this at my August Big Shot Class and I was pretty sure they weren't going to be up for a lot of extreme detail cutting! I also changed the position of the sentiment . . . turning it into a little flag attached with glue dots.

Here's another view of the favor. I've made a LOT of these since Convention. I've given them out to friends (and they give me hugs!), I did it for our Anything Goes August Stamping to Share Downline Swap . . . and they loved it, too!!

I couldn't resist sharing more information and how to's on a Stamping to Share video. In it, I show you the original favor that I received from Tiffany at Con…

8/22 Stamping to Share Demo Meeting Swap Cards Part Two

Image
Here we have Part Two of our August Demo Meeting Swap. Sit back and enjoy!!
This beautiful fall card was created by Mary Kiley. There's nothing prettier than a bright and sunny fall day and Mary captured that feeling perfectly with this card. The leaves are from the stamp set Gently Falling, the swirl in the background is from Elements of Style and the sentiment is from Petite Pairs.

Jackie Cofield, brand new demo in our Stamping to Share group, created this simple and sweet Halloween card. She was fretting over her limited supplies, but I think she did a great job using what she had on hand! It's a great design to set the kids loose on and a stamp set is none other than . . . Kidoodles!

Dawn Michels had a daughter get married in late July so she had wedding stuff still in mind when we met in early August. Embossing and sponging and bright summery colors bring this card to life! The stamp set is "Mr & Mrs."

Katherine Narog created this card for our demo swap .…

8/21 Stamping to Share Demo Meeting Swap Cards Part 1

Image
Every August we have a special Stamping to Share Recognition meeting. This year we had our Recognition meeting at Davanni's in Arden Hills . . . so we all enjoyed delicious pizza in advance of the meeting. Yummy!!

Joyce Hall from Hudson, WI was our guest speaker. With the help of our Volume Rollups . . . she is my second level upline. We've met several times through the years and we were honored that she was able to join us and talk to us about her Stampin' Up! story. She has been a demonstrator since 1996 and we all enjoyed hearing about her journey. Here's a picture of Joyce and I before the meeting got rolling.

After listening to Joyce's story and passing out prizes for our Year Long Recognition program, it was time to get down to business and stamp! As usual, we did two make and takes. The first make and take demonstrated a technique that we learned at Convention. Mary Kiley designed the beautiful sympathy card above and shared the technique with us. I will sh…

8/20 Stampin' Up! Perfectly Preserved Nugget Jar

Image
Isn't this just the greatest little table favor for fall? Stampin' Up! introduced a stamp set in the 2012 Holiday Mini called Perfectly Preserved and you can also purchased a set of coordinating framelits called the Cannery Set. And, if you can believe it . . . there is even a set of coordinating designer series paper called Orchard Harvest. Stampin' Up! really does think of everything!!

My downline, Mary Bellis, designed this little beauty for me and I demonstrated it this past weekend at Dawn Olchefske's Stamp through the Holidays Camp-a-Rama. It holds 4 Hershey Nugget candies. It's just so cute . . . I decided that I had to show the back side, too!

Now, I know you are going to have some questions about how I put it together so I decided to create a video for it. If you would like to create this little gem with me in person, I have decided to use it for one of the projects at my Big Shot Class later this month.

Edited to add . . . -

8/19 Stampin' Up! Ornament Keepsakes

Image
Yesterday was such a fun day at Dawn Olchefske's Holiday Camp-a-Rama. We had fabulous projects, a guest speaker (the lovely Patsy Waggoner), excellent foods and of course a swap! Today I am sharing the swap card that I made. I ended up with two versions of it and I can't decide which version I liked better so I posted both of them for you to see. Both cards are exactly the same EXCEPT for the patterned paper. Both pieces of patterned paper are from the Candlelight Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack.

I like the one above because the design on the patterned paper is echoed in the matting behind the ornament. I like the one below because the design on the patterned paper is reflected in the design on the ornament. What do you think? Which is your favorite??

Have a great day and thank you so much for stopping by my blog today . . . Happy Stamping to Share!

8/16 Stampin' Up! Bordering On Romance Thanks

Image
I have a Stampin' Up! Party this weekend and one of the cards we are going to make is this beauty! It uses the stamp set called Bordering on Romance and the sentiment come from Perfect Punches. The base of the card is cut to 4" across . . . that way the image panel can jut out on each side, but still fit just fine into the envelope.

It's a quick and easy card that I think new stampers will really enjoy making. Here is a side view of the card with a peek at the inside panel.

Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by Stamping to Share! If you live in the Twin Cities area or even beyond, I would be happy to help you host your own SU party teaching you and your friends how to stamp and share . . . and you can get whatever you want to from our catalog with your hostess credit! Contact me by sending me an email and we can get something on the calendar for you!! It's fun, there's no pressure and everyone will love the projects!

8/15 Stampin' Up! French Foliage with Blessings from Heaven

Image
I had French Foliage on my wish list for a long time and finally got it this past spring. I just had a feeling it would make quick and beautiful cards such as the one pictured above! I received a swap from Melissa Boynton a couple of years ago and kept it because it was so pretty and it used the French Foliage stamp set. My club customers are making this card this week as part of my on-going charity effort to donate cards to people needing a lift in our community.

The woodgrain background is created with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder that debuted in our Holiday Mini Catalog. It's awesome . . . everyone who has a Big Shot machine is going to want one. I will warn you though . . . the embossing on this folder is deep! Instead of using Tab One like I usually do to emboss, I found that I had better luck with no tabs. The embossing was still nice and deep. When I used Tab One the embossing was so deep, it almost seemed like it was in danger of tearing, at least on my machine. Your m…

8/14 Stampin' Up! Layered Labels Take Two!

Image
This card will be on the card buffet for August. You may remember this card HERE that I posted just over a week ago. Well, this is "take two" . . . the same card . . . but modified so that I could use it at my card buffet. The cream colored Paper Daisies wouldn't have been practical cost-wise for me to use at the card buffet since I would have only gotten three cards out of each package! Bring on the Bo Ho Blossoms Punch! This versatile punch has rescued me before and it didn't fail me here, either!

Have a wonderful day and thanks so much for stopping by Stamping to Share!

8/13 Stampin' Up! Stippled Blossoms

Image
The stamp set called Stippled Blossoms is featured on this card using the colors  Not Quite Navy and Baja Breeze. I really like how this card turned out. I used the 2 1/2" Circle Punch to punch out a circle from the First Edition Specialty paper, then I layered it onto a panel of Very Vanilla before stamping the rose into that open space. Then, I stamped the sentiment from Sweet Essentials onto a strip of Very Vanilla and layered it below the rose. A couple of Itty Bitty punch outs accented with Very Vanilla Brads finished off the main panel which was then layered onto a panel of  Baja Breeze. This was then mounted onto a Not Quite Navy card base. The right edge was punched with the Scallop Trim Border Punch.

To show off the punched border, I put a strip of Baja Breeze along the right edge of the inside panel of my card before adhering a stamped Very Vanilla correspondence panel.

Hope you have a wonderful day and thanks so much for stopping by Stamping to Share!

8/10 Stampin' Up! Just Believe 12x12 Scrapbook Pages

Image
This is the second set of pages that we will create at our upcoming Open Scrapbook Club on August 23. (This class has an early RSVP date of August 13! Go HERE to let me know you plan to attend!) This page set is a modified case from a set of pages that I received at Convention from my friend Susan Campfield. (Thank You, Susan!!)

I wish I would have gotten a better picture of this page . . . in real life, it is stunning!! The stamped images are embossed with clear embossing powder and top portion of each panel shows off a new Big Shot folder called Woodgrain introduced on page 33 of the Holiday Mini. Stitched White Grosgrain Ribbon is wrapped around each panel where the colors change.

This is the right side and this time the embossed image is on the center panel in the middle of the page with Soft Suede patterned paper at the top and bottom . The round floral accent piece is punched out and mounted with a dimensionals. Again, I used Stitched White Grosgrain as an accent on each side a…
