10/31 Stampin' Up! Holiday Ornaments Jar Topper with How To Video and a Halloween Surprise!

Dorene Bye, one of my very talented Stamping to Share team members, share this jar topper a one of our recent demonstrator meetings and inspired me to create one of my own to share at my Big Shot Class this month. Isn't it just beautiful?

Here is a look from the top down. Another thing I really like about this jar topper is that you can create one for any occasion, all you have to do is change out the designer series paper. A few of the ladies at my Big Shot class planned to make these using Christmas paper and one even mentioned how cute it would be with spring colors for an Easter gift!

And, I knew you would want the step by step, so I created a video for you!! Whoo hooo! I can hear you from here!!  lol! Enjoy!!

Here's the supply list:

Paper: Orchard Harvest (126895), Cajun Craze (119684), Champagne Glimmer Paper (127885)
Ink: Cajun Craze (126965)
Tools: Big Shot (113439), Holiday Ornaments Framelits (127816), Blossom Punch (125603), Stampin' Sponges (101610), Paper Snips (103579), Paper Piercing Tool to place the glue dots (126189), Bone Folder (102300)
Embellishments: Linen Thread (104199), Brushed Bronze Designer Buttons (127833)
Adhesives: Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755), Glue Dots (103683), Glue Gun

And, lastly . . . I am thrilled to share a sweet little pumpkin favor that Karen, one of my SU customers, created. Now that is a "treat!"

Here is a side view. The candies are already gone . . . I enjoyed them with my morning coffee!! Yummy, yummy chocolate! Thank you, Karen!!

Today is the last day to place an order with me to take advantage of the October Special. You can read more about it by clicking HERE. If you get the bundle, you will get the framelits that we used in creating our ornament topper today. You will also get the Candlelight Designer Series paper that I used on an angel ornament that I will be sharing with you a couple of days . . . along with a how to video!!

10/30 Organization Tips for Quick Crafting in Your Stamp Room with a Video!

I purchased this nice little shelf that sits on my countertop where I do my paper crafting at an antique shop for $14 about three years ago. Our clear stamp cases fit two to a shelf perfectly! On top of the shelf, I keep my clear envelopes, a few personalized stamps, my scotch tape and behind the tape are a couple of adhesive removers. Underneath the shelf, there is just enough space to fit my Stamp 'n Scrub. I can pull it out for quick and easy access and push it back out of the way when I am done.

The cases contain left over punches and Big Shot pieces from my projects. I also store some of my embellishments in the cases, too.

I know a few of you will want to see what I've labeled everything as so I took pictures of both sides of the shelf. "Pretty Embellishments" are those items that don't really fit in a color category in my Stack 'n Store Caddy such as the Bitty Buttons and the Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons.

I also have a case for the In Color & Mini Catalog Embellishments. It's so nice to always have these items nice and handy as I work.

Sometimes I have extra bows and when I do, I have a box for those, too. I find that I frequently "go to" this box when I want to give a little giftie to my downline or to one of my customers. Almost everything looks cuter with a box on it!

This is the "Regals" box with leftover punch outs and Big Shot pieces. I find that having these cut outs handy can be really helpful in the creative process leading me down paths I might not have taken. Plus, when I need to put something together "quick," I can usually find something in these boxes to make quick happen!

Thank you so much for your generous support yesterday! The Spooktacular Stamp Sale that Stampin' Up! had was a real success for myself and for many of my downline. I appreciate you so much! Have a wonderful day and thank you so much for stopping by Stamping to Share!

10/28 Inspiration for My Wish List for the Spooktacular One Day Stamp Sale

Monday, October 29 is the BIG DAY!! All stamp sets will be discounted 15%. See all the details for this sale by clicking HERE. I've been making my list by going through all my swap cards. I've also taken into consideration comments from my customers, too, and these are three cards that tipped me over the edge.

This is one of the cards my customers comment on almost every time they see it . . . comments like - "When are we going to make this one?" lol! I guess they can count on making it in November because this stamp set made the cut for the One Day 15% Off Spooktacular Stamp Sale. It's called "Rejoicing With You" and you can see it on page 21 of the annual catalog for 2012-13. I received this card in a swap at Founder's Circle and it was created by Marlayne Hardy. Thank you, Marlayne!!

This card by Becky Morris has also generated a lot of comments in my stamp room. I'm not much into "cute" but quite a few of my customers are huge fans of this Penguin. Maybe I should venture into the land of "cuteness" and see what happens . . . who knows, maybe I'll stay a while. I can assure you I would not be buying this stamp set if it weren't for the sale, but the sale urges me to give it a try. Check out this cute little stamp set on page 23 of our current annual catalog. It's called "No Peeking." (FYI, the sentiment Becky used on this card is from the stamp set called "Chock Full of Cheer" on page 10 of the annual catalog.)

And finally, one more stamp set for my collection. I've actually had my eye on it for a while, but when I got this card in a swap created by LeeAnn Greff, I knew the time to get it would be coming along soon. The sale makes me happy to save 15% on it since I was probably going to get it anyway! It's just so earthy and elegant and that is soooo totally my style!! The set is called Watercolor Winter and you can check it out of page 7 of the 2012 Holiday Mini. I'll be casing this card, for sure!! Thanks, LeeAnn! (the sentiment on this card is from the set called Greetings of the Season from the Holiday Mini.)

Thanks so much for stopping by Stamping to Share . . . and have a great day!! Orders are coming in from my customers already and it's fun to see the stamp sets they are picking. I am so appreciative of each and every order that I will placing on Monday. I am going to do give each person who orders at least five stamp sets from me a cute little set of Christmas tags to help them with their holiday wrapping. It's going to be such a fun day for all of us!

Stamps: Rejoicing With You (WM 126300, CM 126302), No Peeking (WM 126290, CM 126292), Chock Full of Cheer (WM 126715, CM 126717), Watercolor Winter (WM 129724, CM 129727), Greetings of the Season (WM 128030, CM 128033)

10/24 Stampin' Up! Convention 2012 Lip Dub

It's so hard to put into words exactly how much I enjoy going to Stampin' Up! Convention every year. I remember long before I even became a demonstrator that I had told my husband . . . "Someday, I am going to go to Convention with Stampin' Up." It's one of the main reasons I became a demonstrator!

Today, I want to share with you the Theme Song from our 2012 Convention. Maybe it will inspire YOU to go to Convention this year! Stampin' Up! is having a 25th Anniversary and I am looking forward to helping them celebrate. Enjoy the video!

If you are contemplating whether or not to become a demonstrator with SU, I encourage you to give it a try. There's really nothing to lose and a whole lot to gain if you decide that you like it! Please contact me if you would like more information.

10/23 Stampin' Up! Nature Walk with Straw Technique Background

Yesterday I made a video featuring the Straw Technique. If you haven't seen this, please click HERE to learn more about making these backgrounds. Anyway, I was left with a couple of extra backgrounds and on one of them, I stamped images from Nature Walk. I actually prefer to use bolder images on these backgrounds, but wanted to experiment with line images. I decided to go for a collage look and I like how it turned out. The words stamped on the side are from the stamp set called Fabulous Phrases. I'm crazy about the font in that set . . . so pretty!

And, here's another pretty in my life!! My daughter, Kari, reading over her acceptance letter to the University of Minnesota Rochester. We are so excited and happy for her. She plans to pick a major in the health care field . . . she has her eye on Diagnostic Sonography. She is very detail oriented, has an incredible memory and a caring heart so I am sure she will be a good fit in the health care field.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today!! I appreciate you and always look forward to your emails and comments.

Stamps: Nature Walk (WM 121925, CM 121997), Fabulous Phrases (WM 117002, CM 120501)
Paper: Glossy White (102599), Pool Party (122975), Basic Black (121045)
    Ink: StazOn Black (101406)
ReInkers: Daffodil Delight (119672), Certainly Celery (105125), Melon Mambo (115662), Pacific Point (111840)

10/22 The Straw Technique for Beautiful Backgrounds with a How To Video Tutorial

The Straw Technique is so much fun and you will never get the same background twice. Adults and kids alike with have a ball with this. I created these cards for a "wow" swap that I participated in at Convention 2011. I'm just now feeling comfortable enough making videos to share this technique with you. You really do have to see it to believe it!

Here is a panel that one of my kids made. On all these cards, I used the stamp set called "Just Believe." You really do have to have faith when you stamp with this technique. At first it looks like it is going to be one big mess!! And, then, when you "reveal" it, it's quite dark and not all that impressive. But, as it dries, the colors lighten up and gorgeousness happens!

It's really fun to match paper to the panels . . . the card above uses Perfect Plum to show off the awesome background behind the stamped image. For those of you that cannot see video, or maybe have a hard time hearing . . . Let me write out how the technique works here:

    Straw Technique

Select several colors of re-inkers. Begin by using the lightest colors of re-inkers first. Squeeze 2-3 drops onto a panel of glossy white paper. Blow the color around the paper using a straw. Continue with additional colors. When you have the darkest color of re-inker left to go, drop several drops onto your panel and smooth it over the entire panel using your straw like a butter knife. Then, rub off all the excess ink with a Kleenex and enjoy the cool results! You can also spritz your panel with a mist of rubbing alcohol after applying the darkest color of ink. Then, instead of rubbing the excess ink off, just blot it off for a different look! Have fun . . . every panel will be different from the next - this technique is addictive!!

The panels above are the ones I created in the how to video below. I like the background the best when it is overstamped with bold images like the Just Believe image on the left, however, lined images also have possibilities. I've stamped the panel on the right with line images from Nature Walk (WM 121925, CM 121997). Each panel will be a fun surprise and I am excited to show you how it's done.

Thanks so much for stopping by Stamping to Share. I truly appreciate you and hope you have a wonderful day and that you try the Straw Technique real soon . . . you'll have a blast with it!

10/21 Demo Meeting Big Shot Swap & Projects - Part Three

This is the last part to this three part series of our October Demo Meeting Swap cards with a Big Shot theme. Enjoy!!

Dorene Bye created this snow flake wreath with the stamp set called Snowflake Soiree and she used the Snow Flurry Die to create the Red Glimmer accents. The background paper is embossed with the Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder.

Dawn Michels also used glimmer paper, this time silver, to accent her ornament. The ornament is embossed with Petals a Plenty. The sentiment is from the stamp set called Christmas Blessings.

Karen Larson used the Apothecary Accents Die to mat the Perfect Punches sentiment. The stamped flower border is from the stamp set called Bordering on Romance and the fancy embossing at the bottom of the card is from the embossing folder set called Delicate Designs.

Laura Erickson used the Scallop Circle Die and embossed it with the Elegant Lines folder to create the base of her pumpkin card. She used the stamp set called Gently Falling to make her leaf accents enhanced with a button, twine and a bit of ribbon . . . just beautiful!!

This card was created by Linda Watson. Wonderful sponging and masking and stamping with Gently Falling. After the large vanilla panel was sponged and stamped, Linda used the Big Shot machine and the Wood Grain embossing folder to put the texture on this card. The sentiment panel was stamped with images from Day of Gratitude.

Mary Bellis, one of our Project Leaders, had us create this sweet little table favor with the Big Shot Candy Wrapper Die. Isn't it awesome? She used the stamp set called Day of Gratitude to decorate it.

This is a side view of the projects. Mary is a pro at getting her folded end pieces to look really nice!

We were getting a little too crowded at our Monday night demo meetings so we decided to split into two groups and this is our small but growing Tuesday night group. We were trying to take a group picture and no matter how fast I ran, I couldn't seem to beat the camera's self timer!! You can see we were having a lot of fun. We have an open invitations to our customers to join us as a guest at our monthly Stamping to Share meetings to learn about Stampin' Up! and to see if perhaps they too, might enjoy becoming a demonstrator.

10/20 Demo Meeting Big Shot Swaps & Projects Part Two

This is part two of our Stamping to Share Monthly Demo Meeting Wrap Up. As I mentioned yesterday, our swap theme was to use the Big Shot on our cards and projects. I hope something you see inspires you to get creative and stamp and share!!

Before I get too far along into this post . . . I want to tell you that SU added a bunch of great stuff to our Clearance Rack!! You can check it out by clicking on the clearance rack picture my right side bar. Lots of goodies!!! VERY good prices!!

Katherine Narog used the Scallop Squares Duo Die on her card . . . so sharp and clean looking! I want to case this card for my card buffet . . . look for it in November! She used the stamp set called Jolly Bingo Bits and the sentiment is from Greetings of the Season.

Cathy Hobbs used the stamp set My Friend and then cut out that big wonderful "hello" with our Labels Framelit Dies. A great clean and simple card for the beginning stamper. It's hard to tell in the picture, but she also embossed the background panels with the Fancy Fan embossing folder.

Grace Balfanz did some layering with the Labels Framelit die and the Autumn Accents die. She used a variety of embossing folders to texturize the leaves. Her stamped leaf is from the set called Gently Falling and the sentiment is from Perfectly Preserved. I really like the sponging she did to add extra depth to the card.

Barb Manship is our sponging queen! The snowflakes are embossed onto vellum and then sponged and colored from the back to give them extra accents. Her computer generated sentiment is cut out with one of the Apothecary Framelits.

Chris Glebus made this very cute Gingerbread Boy card. He's stamped with Scentsational Season and cut out with one of the Holiday Collection Framelits. I really love all the embossing on this card, too. She used the new embossing folder called Lacy Brocade. The sentiment is from More Merry Messages.

Cindy LeMire got VERY CREATIVE with this awesome card! She used the Labels Framelits collection to make a pumpkin!! I love the smooshed and sponged background, too, that she created over glossy white paper. The spider is from Googly Ghouls and the sentiment is from Teeny Tiny wishes.

Cindy Standal used the Chevron embossing folder . . . a very many folder and paired it with an image from Need for Speed. The sentiment is a hostess set called Wacky Wishes. The pattered paper is from the pack called Comfort Cafe.

Dorene Bye shared this LOVELY jar topper at our meeting and I was sooo impressed that my customers will be recreating the topper at my next Big Shot Class!! It's really a wowzer!! I just love the way those Holiday Ornament Framelit Dies can be used year around to create beautiful jar toppers. Just vary your paper for the season at hand!

Here is a view from the top down. She used DSP from Orchard Harvest. Wouldn't it be lovely to gift this to your Thanksgiving hostess on Thanksgiving Day? (and if YOU are the hostess . . . you could certainly gift yourself for all that hard work!)

Stay tuned for Part Three of Demo Meeting Fun coming your way tomorrow!!

10/19 Demo Meeting Big Shot Swaps & Projects - Part One

Our October Stamping to Share Monthly Demonstrator Meeting was just a ton of fun! Our swap theme challenge was to incorporate the Big Shot into our cards or 3-D projects. Enjoy!!

Mary Dagostino brayered white craft into onto her spiderweb embossing folder, ran it through the Big Shot, and then, while the ink was still wet, sprinkled Iridescent Ice embossing powder over the ink and used her heat tool to create this amazing and sparkling Halloween card. The spider legs were made with the Square Punch, the body of the spider with the Scallop Circle Punch and the bat up in the corner is from the stamp set called Googly Ghouls. Mary ran out of the mini self stick Googly Eyes that SU sells and so on the bat, she put pearls and then used a Sharpie Marker to make black dots on the pearls. It looked awesome!!

Sharon Merritt made this super cute 3-D witch's hat for our swap. I was so impressed when I saw her making them at our September Stamp and Train session that I used this project at my September Big Shot classes. In addition to the spiderweb embossing folder, she used the Peekaboo Frames Die to make a little door for her witch to peek out of. The little witch is from the Googly Ghouls stamp set.

Liz Hanf used the Stripes embossing folder and then distressed it with ink to make the really cool background on this card. Then, it was the Labels Framelits and a little more Stripes embossing to create her top layers. The stamp set, Elementary Elegance, is retired and from last years Sale-a-bration.

Mary Smallidge created a pretty fall medallion card using all kinds of Big Shot supplies! The stamp sets were Everything Eleanor, Teeny Tiny Wishes and Daydream Medallions. She used the coordinating Floral Framelit set to cut out the stamped medallions. The lacy circle is from the large sizzlit die called Delicate Doilies.

Mary Bellis used a couple of embossing folders and Labels Framelit layers to build this beautiful card. The stamp sets are Day of Gratitude and Petite Pairs.

Irene Boesen used the Petite Pocket Die to make this cute Vampire candy holder that she decorated with a variety of punches. The candy bar on the inside was a mini milk chocolate Hershey's bar. I know because I just ate it for breakfast! (with coffee of course!)

This super cute scarecrow card was created by Debby Filiowich with the Top Note die. She cut off the outside piece of the top note around the face and then used these cut off pieces to make the scraggly hair. The white part of the eyes is the bird wing from the 2 Step Bird Punch! I tell ya, the creativity in this group just never ends!

This double pocket envelope was not part of the swap . . . but part of our Show and Tell area. Barb Manship made A LOT of these and put them out as table favors at her daughter's wedding reception. She folded it in such a way that there was plenty of room through the middle of the double pocked to put a rolled thank you scroll. It's just lovely!

Laura Erickson was one of our October project leaders and this is what we made . . . angel Christmas ornaments!! They are so beautiful! Several of my customers have begged that I show them out to make these so we will - at our monthly Big Shot class on October 30.

Stay tuned for Part Two of our Demo Meeting Swaps & Projects coming your way tomorrow! Have a great day and thank you so much for stopping by Stamping to Share!!

    10/18 Stampin' Up! Papillon Popourri

Papillon Potpourri was introduced this summer in our 2012-13 Annual Catalog and one of my best selling stamp sets is Papillon Potpourri and the coordinating punch. It's so much fun to make cards with this set. I decided to get a little vintage with this particular card using Pink Pirouette, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake and Soft Suede. The background is our Wood Grain stamp and the sentiment is from the set called Perfect Punches.

I used the Big Shot Machine to create the doily with our large sizzlit called Paper Doily. I really love this sizzlit and the other doily one called Delicate Doilies. It does take a bit of a learning curve when you first use them with your Big Shot machine . . . but it is so worth the effort.

Have a wonderful day and thank you so much for stopping by Stamping to Share!

Stamps: Papillon Potpourri (WM 123757, CM 123759), Wood Grain Background (117100), Perfect Punches (WM 117022, CM 120516)

10/17 Stampin' Up! Winter Memories with Greetings of the Season

This is how I prefer to build my snowmen . . . from my stamping desk! lol! Warm Winter Memories is the name of this sweet stamp set and in addition to this snowman making scene, there is a pair of ice skates, a sled with a Christmas wreath and two sentiments. I decided forgo the delicate looking sentiments that came with the Winter Memories stamp set and use a bolder sentiment overstamped  onto the scene. It's a greeting from the stamp set called Greetings of the Season. I used a Real Red marker to color in a few accents on the nostalgic scene and it was surprising to see how a few little touches with the marker brightened this card right up. It was a quick and easy card to start off the day.

Have a wonderful day and thanks so much for stopping by Stamping to Share!

    10/16 Stampin' Up! Mouthwatering

Steve and I celebrated our Anniversary two weeks ago with a whole day together and it involved two of our favorite things . . . golf and ice cream! Our very first date was to go to DQ and get a couple of ice cream cones.

All of the paper piercing on this card used the Essentials Paper Piercing Pack. It's a great tool and I'm so glad SU added it to our line. You can get the Festive Paper Piercing Pack FREE this month when you order the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set or bundle along with the Candlelight Specialty paper. You can read all about that offer by clicking HERE.
