9/24/13 Canyoneering Adventures at Founder's Circle

One of the activities I participated in this year while I was in St. George, Utah for Founder's Circle was an introductory course in Canyoneering. We were in the mountains at first light and even though I'd never repelled down a cliff before, I was able to do it with some confidence thanks to the great guides (Matt & Bryon) at Paragon Adventures.

This is our "show your muscles" picture - lol! LtoR: Brenda Keenan, myself, Rachel Tessman and Julie Davison. Notice the air under the rock? It was a suspended boulder over the canyon that we repelled down. The scenery was just amazing!

One of the downsides to our trip (which in the end was fun to reminisce over) was that it had rained quite a lot the week before so the gulches were filled with water . . . but what do you do? Only one way through! The picture above was through the second deepest section of water that we waded through. There was one bit where we were nearly up to our necks!

Check out the beauty of these slot canyons. In some ways, I still can't believe I did this!! What memories!

Here we are lined up on a natural rock slide - the perfect photo opportunity!

Looks like we made it!! LtoR: Brenda Keenan, Rachel Tessman, Julie Davison and myself. Thank you, Paragon Adventures for a memorable morning!

Absolutely fantastic, what an opportunity, Can't say I would have done it and it doesn't surprise me that you did. Thanks for sharing, and yes Kay did have bruises :)
