8/28 Wishing You and Lining Envelopes with a How To Video

Here's a pretty card that will be on my Jumpstart the Holidays Card Buffet tomorrow evening. I really like the Season of Style Designer Series Paper from the Holiday Mini Catalog and I wanted to try out the new envelope liners from Stampin' Up! I discovered I could get four envelope liners from one 12x12 sheet of DSP. Here is the How To Video:

We had a big day around here yesterday as we packed up and moved Kari, our second daughter off to college. It was a fun day getting her settled into her room at the University of MN Rochester.

Just before leaving, I snapped a picture of Kari on the left with her sister Karel who will be starting her second year at the University of MN here in the Twin Cities. We got her all settled in and today she is having a full day of orientation.

Have a wonderful day and thank you so much for stopping by Stamping to Share. I appreciate you so much and feel grateful to have so many people who follow my blog. Thank you!!

8/27 Harvest of Thanks

I love how these cards turned out! They use the new Harvest of Thanks stamp set out of the Holiday Mini. You can truly never have too many thank you cards in your stash and this set will keep you inspired throughout the fall season. The touch of burlap and the use of Gorgeous Grunge over the top of the Naturals Composition Designer Paper really adds a rustic touch. The card on the left features Crushed Curry while the one on the right shows off Cajun Craze. I couldn't decide which one I liked the best! The card stock vellum looks more see through in real life and it was a great way to highlight Candy Dots from the Regals Color Collection.

Have a great day and thank you so much for stopping by Stamping to Share. If you like this card, please come to my class on Thursday where we will get a Jump Start on the Holidays!

8/26 Perfect Blend, My Favorite Stamp Set

This stamp set called Perfect Blend is my favorite set out of the SU 2013-14 catalog. When you pair it with Gorgeous Grunge, you can get a counter to set your cup on along with some splashes and spills. It's just awesome!! These are the cards my customers got to make at my Open House back in June. I just can't believe I didn't post them sooner. I must have been just a little busy making Convention Swaps at the time!

I used the 2013-15 In Color Patterned Paper Pack to get my colors which of course has beautiful coordinating products in card stock, ink pads, ribbon and lovely Boutique Details. So, so pretty! The card above features the In Color Strawberry Slush.

This card came out a bit softer because the color is Pistachio Pudding. I also made cards featuring Coastal Cabana and Crisp Cantaloupe . . . all of which looked absolutely lovely and luscious! The sentiments that come with the Perfect Blend stamp set are great . . . "Coffee & Friends are the Perfect Blend," and "Given enough coffee, I could rule the world. Temporarily."

Don't forget . . . only a couple more days to sign up for My Paper Pumpkin and get it for 1/2 price!! Don't forget to use "pumpkindeal" in the promo code. The link is at the bottom of this post.

Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by Stamping to Share!

8/22 Toil and Trouble and Witches Brew

A week from today my customers will join me as we "Jump Start the Holidays" and this will be one of the cards that they can make with various background papers to select from. I used the stamp set called Toil & Trouble and inked up the Shakespearean sentiment with Versa Mark, stamped it on Basic Black paper and then used Tangerine Tango embossing powder and my heat tool to bring it to life. It was a cinch to cut out with the coordinating Apothecary Framelit.  If you click on the picture above, you will notice that the lower half of the card has an embossed vellum panel. I love the look of vellum on my cards as it adds elegance to anything . . . even to Halloween cards!

The really cool designer series paper in the background is from the pack called Witches Brew which will give you some great options for both card making and scrapbooking.

This is the inside of the card and I used another image from Toil and Trouble. The sentiment comes from the stamp set called Delightful Dozen. I can't wait to share this card with my family and friends. I think it is super cute and super fun.

Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by Stamping to Share!

8/21 My Paper Pumpkin . . . My Creative Escape!

Yesterday was My Paper Pumpkin Day . . . My Creative Escape! The card on the left is the creative idea that came with the kit. The rest of the cards that you see are my versions! I especially like the one on the right . . . it was fun to vary the colors of the bikes and create a whole parade of them.

The yellow stickers reminded me a little of Washi Tape so I made this card to play up that look.

And finally, I gave the bike some movement by stamping off behind the main image. I did find that my Stamp-a-ma-jig came in handy when I made these cards . . . but that's the perfectionist in me!

Did you know that through August 31 you can sign up and get the first two months of your subscription to My Paper Pumpkin for 1/2 price? Just enter PUMPKINDEAL in the promo code when you sign up under me at My Paper Pumpkin.

8/20 The Cards from Cards for a Cause Fundraiser

Of course you would want to see the cards we made at our fundraiser . . . right? I've already had several requests to share and here they are!! I was able to case or be inspired by some of my fellow SU demonstrators and that made everything a little easier.

Here's the cute birdie card we made. The sentiments come from the Six Sided Sampler Stamp Set and we used the Woodgrain background stamp. The punches on the birdie were: 1 3/4" Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, BoHo Blossoms Punch, Small Heart Punch and the Modern Label Punch.

I love the Zoo Babies set and this cheerful Get Well card would definitely brighten a day! We also made a card using the elephant and the toucan with Coastal Cabana . . . so sweet!

I think my favorite stamp set in our latest catalog is Too Kind and this was probably my favorite card. I just love the layer of vellum. We used the Afternoon Picnic Designer Series Paper. Every sheet of it looked great!

Wetlands and Epic Day Washi tape combined to make a great guy card. We used Naturals White card stock for the base of this card and to stamp our main image.

These cards were just so bright and cheerful. They were quick and easy to stamp, too. We had all of the Big Shot stuff done ahead of time. The flower is from the Flower Shop stamp set. The birthday cake image is from Bring on the Cake and the "smile" comes from Happy Day.

This card was real hit . . . we lined up all the images from the Kind and Cozy stamp set onto Block E and then with just one swoosh from the ink pad to the paper everything was stamped! A couple of sparkling rhinestones added the finishing touch.

We used Block D to create the shadow on this card by inking it up with Soft Sky and then stamping it directly onto our card panel. The stamped images from Thoughts and Prayers were stamped with Black StazOn and the butterfly was made with our two butterfly punches from Pool Party and Soft Sky.

This is the card we used to decorate the front of our kit bags . . . a gift for attending our fundraiser in person. We left off the bulky flower element so make it easier for our attendees to drop in the mail. My daughter Kasey created these cards using all of the 2013-15 In Colors. So, so pretty!!

And, speaking of Kasey, she was off to school this morning. Her first day as a Junior in High School. I love that sweet girl. She is a wonderful daughter, friend, helper and walks daily in the light of Christ doing what she can to bring joy to others. She reminds me so much of my mother, Alice. And when she plays piano . . . it's just lovely as all of my customers can attest to!

Have a wonderful day and thank you so much for stopping by Stamping to Share!

8/19 Cards for a Cause Event Highlights!

Wow!! What an incredible day for the Concordia Academy Dance Team! We held a Cards for a Cause Fundraiser to help them raise money to keep them all dancing for another year and it was a fantastic success! Here are some pictures of the prep work . . . I didn't blog for much of last week because I was knee deep in cards as you will see!

Dancers working an evening session creating "cards to go" for those who couldn't join us on the actual day of the fundraiser.

My daughters didn't really get a choice about whether they wanted to work or not! They worked every session and then some!

One of our dance moms with a finished pile of cards to go . . . what an accomplishment!

We had piles and piles of cards to go!

More dancers stamping to share!

Moms and daughters teamed up! Look at all those piles of luscious In Color Ribbon!

More dancer moms prepping and prepping for our big day!

A hundred cards later and the punch art birdies are still cute!!

Here are some dancers making table favors for our card making event. My daughter, Kasey, actually figured out how she wanted these to look using school colors.

Here's a close up view of the table favors.

It does sort of seem like the prep work is never ending! But the dancers are still smiling!

And so are the moms! We know it will be worth the work in the end!

Finally, the last table of cards to go are done and the dancers did a GREAT job!

Each person attending our Cards for a Cause event got one of these kit bags. My daughter, Kasey, made a bonus card for each attendee which we used to decorate the front of the bags.  Inside, attendees found their card kits. All they had to do was find a table, pull out the kit for that table and off they were stamping and creating.

Here's a picture of some of our attendees.

We had door prizes, too! I recycled a bunch of swap cards, put them in a basket and covered the basket with a blanket.

When someone with a winning ticket was called, they could reach into the basket three times and get three awesome cards ready to send out to brighten someone's day.

More pictures of our beautiful dancers working at the fundraiser.

Attendees busy stamping!

I got to walk around and assist where needed.

Our dancers assisted a lot, too! Especially the ones who did so much of the prep work - they were experts at making those cards!

One of our hard working dancers who participated in all of the prep work and made cards at our event, too! Look, she is still smiling!

We had card makers of all ages and everyone was smiling!

And finally, I get to present a check of $2,400 to our team captains and dance coach - Mission Accomplished thanks to the hard work and dedication of the Condordia Academy Dance Team and their moms. It was a GREAT success! Thank you, also, to all who helped in any way and we had LOTS of helpers from donated space to hold our event to people bringing snacks, homemade bars, coffee and tea. Most especially, a big thank you to everyone who attended our event or purchased cards to go. Without you . . . raising money for the dancers would not have happened.

Have a wonderful day and thank you so much for stopping by Stamping to Share!
