10/21 Demo Meeting Big Shot Swap & Projects - Part Three

This is the last part to this three part series of our October Demo Meeting Swap cards with a Big Shot theme. Enjoy!!

Dorene Bye created this snow flake wreath with the stamp set called Snowflake Soiree and she used the Snow Flurry Die to create the Red Glimmer accents. The background paper is embossed with the Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder.

Dawn Michels also used glimmer paper, this time silver, to accent her ornament. The ornament is embossed with Petals a Plenty. The sentiment is from the stamp set called Christmas Blessings.

Karen Larson used the Apothecary Accents Die to mat the Perfect Punches sentiment. The stamped flower border is from the stamp set called Bordering on Romance and the fancy embossing at the bottom of the card is from the embossing folder set called Delicate Designs.

Laura Erickson used the Scallop Circle Die and embossed it with the Elegant Lines folder to create the base of her pumpkin card. She used the stamp set called Gently Falling to make her leaf accents enhanced with a button, twine and a bit of ribbon . . . just beautiful!!

This card was created by Linda Watson. Wonderful sponging and masking and stamping with Gently Falling. After the large vanilla panel was sponged and stamped, Linda used the Big Shot machine and the Wood Grain embossing folder to put the texture on this card. The sentiment panel was stamped with images from Day of Gratitude.

Mary Bellis, one of our Project Leaders, had us create this sweet little table favor with the Big Shot Candy Wrapper Die. Isn't it awesome? She used the stamp set called Day of Gratitude to decorate it.

This is a side view of the projects. Mary is a pro at getting her folded end pieces to look really nice!

We were getting a little too crowded at our Monday night demo meetings so we decided to split into two groups and this is our small but growing Tuesday night group. We were trying to take a group picture and no matter how fast I ran, I couldn't seem to beat the camera's self timer!! You can see we were having a lot of fun. We have an open invitations to our customers to join us as a guest at our monthly Stamping to Share meetings to learn about Stampin' Up! and to see if perhaps they too, might enjoy becoming a demonstrator.

10/20 Demo Meeting Big Shot Swaps & Projects Part Two

This is part two of our Stamping to Share Monthly Demo Meeting Wrap Up. As I mentioned yesterday, our swap theme was to use the Big Shot on our cards and projects. I hope something you see inspires you to get creative and stamp and share!!

Before I get too far along into this post . . . I want to tell you that SU added a bunch of great stuff to our Clearance Rack!! You can check it out by clicking on the clearance rack picture my right side bar. Lots of goodies!!! VERY good prices!!

Katherine Narog used the Scallop Squares Duo Die on her card . . . so sharp and clean looking! I want to case this card for my card buffet . . . look for it in November! She used the stamp set called Jolly Bingo Bits and the sentiment is from Greetings of the Season.

Cathy Hobbs used the stamp set My Friend and then cut out that big wonderful "hello" with our Labels Framelit Dies. A great clean and simple card for the beginning stamper. It's hard to tell in the picture, but she also embossed the background panels with the Fancy Fan embossing folder.

Grace Balfanz did some layering with the Labels Framelit die and the Autumn Accents die. She used a variety of embossing folders to texturize the leaves. Her stamped leaf is from the set called Gently Falling and the sentiment is from Perfectly Preserved. I really like the sponging she did to add extra depth to the card.

Barb Manship is our sponging queen! The snowflakes are embossed onto vellum and then sponged and colored from the back to give them extra accents. Her computer generated sentiment is cut out with one of the Apothecary Framelits.

Chris Glebus made this very cute Gingerbread Boy card. He's stamped with Scentsational Season and cut out with one of the Holiday Collection Framelits. I really love all the embossing on this card, too. She used the new embossing folder called Lacy Brocade. The sentiment is from More Merry Messages.

Cindy LeMire got VERY CREATIVE with this awesome card! She used the Labels Framelits collection to make a pumpkin!! I love the smooshed and sponged background, too, that she created over glossy white paper. The spider is from Googly Ghouls and the sentiment is from Teeny Tiny wishes.

Cindy Standal used the Chevron embossing folder . . . a very many folder and paired it with an image from Need for Speed. The sentiment is a hostess set called Wacky Wishes. The pattered paper is from the pack called Comfort Cafe.

Dorene Bye shared this LOVELY jar topper at our meeting and I was sooo impressed that my customers will be recreating the topper at my next Big Shot Class!! It's really a wowzer!! I just love the way those Holiday Ornament Framelit Dies can be used year around to create beautiful jar toppers. Just vary your paper for the season at hand!

Here is a view from the top down. She used DSP from Orchard Harvest. Wouldn't it be lovely to gift this to your Thanksgiving hostess on Thanksgiving Day? (and if YOU are the hostess . . . you could certainly gift yourself for all that hard work!)

Stay tuned for Part Three of Demo Meeting Fun coming your way tomorrow!!

10/2 Stampin' Up! Sponging with a Mask Video Tutorial

Last week I posted a card and video related to the Stampin' Up! Woodgrain Embossing Folder that showed you how to prevent "cracking," a tip I learned at Founder's Circle from Linda Heller. You can see that original post HERE. Well, ever since then, I've been getting emails asking me how I sponged the three colors onto the card panel. So, I finally had some time today and I made another video called "Sponging With a Mask in Fall Colors." Hope you enjoy it!

9/24 Stampin' Up! Gently Falling

Last week I had a stamping session with my downline and shared how to sponge and how to prevent "cracking" with the Woodgrain embossing folder. If you haven't already watched it . . . you can check out that "no cracking" video HERE. Anyway, I was putting a few thing away in my office this morning, I came across those scraps and thought I would make a quick card with them.

I added a few leaves created with the Autumn Accents Die found on page 33 of the Holiday Mini that were embossed with the Lacy Brocade Embossing folder which is on page 6 of the Holiday Mini. The sentiment is from Tiny Tags. A little bitty bow and the card was done!

I had one panel of card stock that had the "cracking" in it so I just cut that part away and used the good part on the inside panel of my card. I always like to do a "little something" on the inside of my cards and this worked out perfectly.

Have a great day and thank you so much for stopping by Stamping to Share! I really appreciate you!!

9/18 Favorites from Founder's Circle

One of the cards that I received at Founder's Circle caught my eye almost immediately . . . it used the SU Elegant Bird die like a stencil and Gold Glow Smooch Spritz made it shimmer and shine. The bold leaf image from Gently Falling is first stamped with Island Indigo and then the outline is stamped over it and embossed with gold embossing powder. A little spritzing with the Color Spritzer Tool and the Island Indigo marker complete the look on the Naturals Ivory paper. Just gorgeous!! Turns out, this card was made by Shelli Gardner and Sara Douglas!! It's fitting that it's my favorite!

In addition to sharing the card that Shelli Gardner and Sara Douglas created for Founder's Circle, I decided I would pick five favorite cards to share with you from Founder's Circle. This was REALLY tough. I enjoyed looking at each and every one and each one that made me pause for a closer look got put into a separate pile. When I was done looking at them all, I had a pile of about 30 cards that I really, really liked. From there I narrowed it down and narrowed it down until I had my five favorites . . . and here they are!! Enjoy!

This card created by Catherine Sanders really makes me want to order the stamp set called Watercolor Winter. I don't have it . . . yet, but I really wish that I did!! I love the way Catherine created leaves around the poinsettias by stamping the flower image again in green using a mask. She used the Gold Dazzle marker to highlight the centers. The sentiment is from More Merry Messages.

This card using the stamp set Open Sea was created by Alison Solven and it is just gorgeous! The background is sponged and stamped on glossy white. She used Vanilla Seam Binding ribbon with a Designer Ribbon Brad. I don't have this stamp set either and whaaaaa . . . now I want this one, too!

Edited to add: Alison contacted me when she saw that I picked her card to be in favorites to let me know that she did not sponge the glossy as I thought . . . she used painter's tape!! She has a fabulous video on how she put this card together. You can check it out here: http://youtu.be/wpaPeSaP3NA

This super cute winter card, created by Sarah Schueler, uses the stamp set called Snow Much Fun. This card makes me smile!! And, I love the banners made with the Polka Dot Parade DSP.

Amy Storrie made this great Halloween card that caught my eye. She uses Googly Ghouls and the sentiment set called Border Banter. You'll notice the Ribbon Slide and that gorgeous ribbon is the Striped Satin Ribbon found in the Holiday Mini. I love how she nestled the spider into one of the Delicate Doilies Sizzlit cut outs.

And the final card in my Favorite Five was created by Daleen Pinder. She used the Holiday Mini set called Affection Collection. The sentiment is from Mixed Medley, a hostess set in the Holiday Mini. The vine is from Flowering Flourishes (which is now on my "wish list!") and the butterfly from Papillon Potpourri. Just so pretty!!

9/11 Stamping to Share Demo Meeting Swap Cards Part One

Yeah . . . I have Internet again! I was "offline" for a few days and it drove me nuts!! At least I could keep up with my emails via my iPhone, but I tell you, it's hard to respond with a very lengthy note when you are picking and pecking your letters out one by one!

Our demo meeting swap card this for September was "Anything Seasonal." I hope you enjoy them as much as I do! Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by Stamping to Share!

The first card features a wonderful mix of paper and I just love the way Karen Larson accented the Apothecary framelit piece with the orange end pieces, the sparkling brads and the fabulous paper piercing! She used the Holiday Mini set called Toxic Treats.

Katherine Narog put this sweet gingerbread image from Scentsational Season onto a mat made from our Framelit Labels all over dsp from Be of Good Cheer. I think it looks a little like Christmas Sprinkles . . . you can almost smell the gingerbread and vanilla!

Laura Erickson created this beauty with Gently Falling. I love the way she cut around the leaves to reveal embossed Core'dinations card stock. Such beautiful colors and the expert sponging makes this card "glow!"

Linda Watson used one of her very favorite Holiday Mini sets called Watercolor Winter to create this card. The crisp white really shows off the In-Colors of Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple and Gumball Green. She embossed the white panel with the new Lacy Brocade embossing folder.

Mary Bellis created this lovely card using the Holiday Mini set called Winter Memories. I love the sparkle of Silver Glimmer paper. It's those little accents like a sliver of silver bordering your main image that really brings a card to life!

Mary Smallidge used the Evergreen set from the Holiday Mini to make this card. She also experimented with Core-dination card stock embossed with the Lacy Brocade embossing folder. The sparkling star in Champagne Shimmer paper is die cut with the star image from the Holiday Collection framelit set.

Barb Manship created this beautiful swinging ornament card with Apothecary Accents and the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set. The coloring detail on the embossed ornament is just amazing . . . as is the beautiful sponging on this card.

I just love seeing the creativity that comes from the heart!! I hope you've enjoyed seeing these swaps and be sure to stay tuned for part 2 tomorrow!

8/22 Stamping to Share Demo Meeting Swap Cards Part Two

Here we have Part Two of our August Demo Meeting Swap. Sit back and enjoy!!

This beautiful fall card was created by Mary Kiley. There's nothing prettier than a bright and sunny fall day and Mary captured that feeling perfectly with this card. The leaves are from the stamp set Gently Falling, the swirl in the background is from Elements of Style and the sentiment is from Petite Pairs.

Jackie Cofield, brand new demo in our Stamping to Share group, created this simple and sweet Halloween card. She was fretting over her limited supplies, but I think she did a great job using what she had on hand! It's a great design to set the kids loose on and a stamp set is none other than . . . Kidoodles!

Dawn Michels had a daughter get married in late July so she had wedding stuff still in mind when we met in early August. Embossing and sponging and bright summery colors bring this card to life! The stamp set is "Mr & Mrs."

Katherine Narog created this card for our demo swap . . . PERFECT for SU Parties!! I am always on the lookout for cards that make will leave a good impression on newbies and you can bet that I will be using this idea this fall!! She used the set called "Blooming in Kindness."

Mary Bellis used the Holiday Mini set called "Owl Occasions to make  this fun "salute" card! So bright and cheerful! The sentiment is from Curly Cute.

Mary Smallidge loves unique cards and this one is so her style! She created a gate-fold card and using the labels framelits, made quite a cool closure to this card. The stamp sets are Bright Blossoms and Mixed Bunch.

This is the card open. The sentiment is from Pursuit of Happiness. You can easily see on this photo where she attached the framelit pieces to make her closure.

Isn't this a beauty? We were just stunned when we saw Laura Erickson's swap! I felt like I had just nabbed a winning lottery ticket!! Laura Erickson created this DSP ornament to be a jar topper for Christmas Treats. So, so pretty!!

This is the top-down view. The little bit of stamping that you see in the center of the ornament is from the stamp set called Ornament Keepsakes in the Holiday Mini. All of the marvelous cutting that you see was done with the Big Shot Machine and the Holiday Ornaments Framelit Dies. The lacy piece in Cherry Cobbler that you see below the silver glimmer snowflake is also cut on the Big Shot Machine using the Delicate Doilies Sizzlit Die.

10/4 Stampin' Up! Modified Mini Milk Carton

I've seen various versions of modified milk cartons now at several Stampin' Up! Events so I decided it was time to try it out myself. This was a LOT of fun to make . . . so much fun in fact, that I had my customers make it at a recent Big Shot Class. They loved it, too!

This is a top view. You can see that it's a five sided container. I cut two paper panels using the Stampin' Up! Mini Milk Carton Die. On one of the die cuts, I chopped off one section of the milk carton die so that I had three sides and on the other die cut, I chopped off two sections leaving me with two sides. Then, after scoring all of your fold lines, you just adhere them together for a five sided treat holder. I used my Crop-a-Dial to punch holes for the Natural Hemp Twine.

The tag was made with the Holiday Mini stamp set called Gently Falling and it is just clipped to the twine with our Mini Clothespins.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by Stamping to Share!!

6/7 Stampin' Up! Gently Falling with Calypso

One of my favorite stamp sets in the Holiday Mini Catalog is called "Gently Falling." The more I've worked with it, the more I love it. This will be the card my Open House Attendees will get to make at my Open House tomorrow. Isn't it gorgeous? And, it's so FAST to make when you use the Clear Mount stamp set option. I put all the outline pieces onto one block, inked it all up in Early Espresso and stamped the outlines all in one awesome swoop! Then, say goodbye to your Stamp-a-ma-jig because you won't need it when you are over stamping the color with the bold stamps. Totally easy, and totally FUN!

My customers will be given two sentiment options. The one I used on this card is from the "It's a Wrap Holidays." I stamped the image onto a piece of scrap Whisper White and punched it out with the new 1" Square Punch. Then I trimmed it down to size with a scissors. The postage stamp border can be made in one of two ways. First you can just punch two, trim a full scallop off one side and piece the two together. Or, you can punch it out, use Dotto to stick it onto a paper handle, line it up in your punch again and punch off one edge of scallops.

I really love this card. I used it in a recent demo only swap, I awarded my Top Sellers in my downline with it and tomorrow and I'm sharing it with my customers. I hope you've enjoyed seeing it here on Stamping to Share.
Have a great day!! And be sure to stop by my Open House if you are local!! (There will be specials!!!)

9/2 Stampin' Up! Gently Falling

Emboss Resist is a cool technique that looks awesome with the bold images in Gently Falling. All I did was stamp the Maple leaf with VersaMark ink all over a panel of Whisper White. Then, after putting clear embossing powder over the stamped images and shaking the excess off, I heated it up with my heat tool until all the images turned glossy. Next, I inked up my brayer with Poppy Parade ink and covered the entire panel with the red ink. Use a tissue to buff off the ink on your glossy embossed images and the leaves will just pop! The sentiment on this card is from the stamp set called Upsy Daisy . . .  a perfect stamp set for the beginning stamper. It contains three great sayings, and a bold image that would also look great using this technique.

Last weekend when we were at the camper, the girls thought we should have a family photo. We needed an updated one for our home. Here we all are! There was another one that was also pretty cute involving collapsable chairs and the fire pit, but I think we'll save that one for our Christmas pictures this year.

Thanks for stopping by Stamping to Share!! Have a great weekend!
